Immigration will doom the Secessionist’s campaign. Willard is already running attack ads against him on the issue, and now, Texas Teabaggers — who never liked the Secessionist — are piling on, too.
The Texas Tea Party Caucus Advisory Board, a citizen group that advises the caucus’s 27 state legislators, will attack Perry for being insufficiently tough on so-called sanctuary cities at a press conference next week. [...]
[Katrina] Pierson said her group is planning to announce next week that it has increased support from lawmakers and will call on Perry to call another special session to address the matter, hoping that he would “clarify his position on illegal immigration.”
“If he can’t get the job done in Texas with a supermajority, with something that he says is a priority, how is he going to get that done in D.C.?” Pierson said. “You have control of everything in Texas, and you still can’t [get] it done. He doesn’t want to get it done.”
Of course he doesn’t. Because that’s where all those “Texas Miracle” jobs are coming from — and they enrich his corporate masters.
Illegal immigration is good for big business in Texas, and it always has been. Good luck selling that to the nativists who’ve taken over the GOP.

Best comment I ever heard on immigrants was from a NYC taxi driver. Ethnic background on both sides deliberately omitted as being irrelevant.
Driver: Those lazy good-for-nothing blankety blanks are taking all our jobs.
So, if the business community in Texas understands what Perry is doing, what will the corporations supporting Mitt think about this?
“We oppose bringing in cheap labor and providing them with an education to make their more productive!” Of course, if you break unions, you have a bigger supply.
I’m sure they don’t like it. Isn’t one of Willard’s biggest backers Marriott? Marriott depends quite a bit on undocumented workers.
I’m sensing a Teabagger/GOP Regulars trainwreck comin’. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch.
The irony is that the number of immigrants from Mexico, documented or not, is the lowest it’s been in ages. And yes, businesses like the current setup because they like having a workforce they can threaten to deport if the workers dare to protest the starvation wages given them, so actually walking the draconian talk on immigration is the last thing they want to see happen. When Georgia’s Tea Partiers got their way and kicked out all the state’s undocumented workers, farmers suddenly found themselves without hired help — and with crops rotting in the field.
TeaParty Cat fight! Who can be more purist than thou?
Their “platform” cannot be supported because it is too inflexible, but even more than that, not based at all in reality.
But we already knew that… pass the popcorn!
Yep, but duly noted that this inconvenient TRUTH/FACT is rarely, if ever, mentioned or discussed in the so-called MSM. Doesn’t fit into Rush Limbaugh’s fact-free libertarian fantasy world. Keep clapping louder for Tinkerbell, yadda yadda…
“Sure, he’s crazy, but is he crazy enough?”
OT:
New book on O’s mother posits that his parents were CIA recruits, as was his stepfather. I don’t know, but wouldn’t be a bit surprised. The wiki for U. Hawaii’s East-West Center where his parents met has this at the end (no mention of CIA link, of course, but big on State Dept. involvement):
Let the Tea Party folks “consume,” themselves and do America a favor?
In addition to that train wreck, there is the Romney Mormon issue. Even after the hatchet jobs that came from some repukes after the Orlando “debate” Perry still leads Willard in polling. When you tally up, Snakehandlers are leading Country Clubbers and Randroids by a significant margin
Citizen Scarecrow:
The corporations and the banksters supporting Mitt will continue to support Willard because they also have the horse in lane one, which is of course the President. I been tellin you that there is a split in the oligarchy between the oil cowboys and the banksters…the banksters know that if the oil boys win then any financial “recovery” and recovery of the dollar is fantasy.
We have seen this split before most recently in 1992 and before that in 1975…the only time there is any real change structurally in politics or the economy is when there is a split in the ruling class. Obama is a lame duck the moment the election returns are in, no matter who wins. That means that we need to pack the states and the federal legislature because the struggle for political power and leadership will begin immediately after the election.
If the oil cowboys win we are in for complete collapse and the banksters know it.
Thanks for the update, eCAHN. Could well be. hmmmmmmmm….
