What’s on your mind?
Suz!
newton! how ya doing tonight dood?
I’m good, Suz.
You rested?
i yam! mom flew back to az yesterday and i spent the day resting and relaxing.
Evening all, looks like the inventor of the pacemaker has passed away, at the age of 92.
Hi, Suz & newt. Lovely day at the coast today. Life is good.
hey hannibal — how ya doing tonight?
hey dearie — how’s those twin grandbabies?
Supergirl apparently has a lot to be upset about. And that’s without even going into the big DC comics reboot nonsense.
Hoo-Rah!
Just in time for the wet spell you guys are about to get… more incentive to stay inside and relax.
I’m doing great, and yourself?
Howdy Suz, Newtie, whoever else!
Had to stay up and “see” you guyz for once, since I’ve been so morning-a-licious haven’t been around on yer thredz.
Smooch!
i got almost 2″ yesterday and had sustained winds in the 20′s. out on cape meares they recorded a wind gust of 61. today was quite pleasant when compared to yesterday :) no rain, some sun, some clouds, no wind
i’m doing well, thanks hannibal. had a great visit with mom, saw the baby, ate good food and talked – a lot
hey kelly — how’s denver tonight? been missing ya dood *smooches back*
Hi Dearie!
Inland peninsula was muggy and warm once again, no sign of Fall, cept the occasional ‘V’ of birds flying south in dusk. Our own native geese are still hanging around, but we are seeing a lot of formations, heading for Brazil I suppose.
Hiya All!
A rare late late night for me as well.
Alright, Suz…! I hope she had a blast…!
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! ;-)
Your sandman has a bye tonight. Nice to see you.
hey ce — how’s ohio tonight?
As if, Chris…! ;-)
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? per our phone call tonight, she did :) time just flew by when she was here and before we knew it, it was time for her to head home
Aloha, Stranger…! ;-)
I used to see geese when I lived in Chicago…maybe even in Cincinnati….here, not so much. Seagulls, of course. Flights of pelicans. And lots of warm and snuggly mourning doves…so pretty.
gypsy rose lee
i’ve had geese on the bay for the past month or so… i’m on the migration flypath
Hey folks. What’s happening?
Lovely, we’ve had rain and sunshine. Tonight was calm, and the expected storms never materialized. Sounds like your visit with your Mom was great.
Hi guys. Happy Tuesday.
Interesting times we live in.
Heh heh, well not as much as years past. I’m getting old here at FDL.
[gotta forgive me - I also stayed up late 'cause I'm watching 7 days in May on TCM.]
hey spocko — how was your day?
Hey Kelly!
hey tuez — how ya doing tonight? isn’t that an ancient chinese curse – may you live in interesting times…
I wrote a diary today check it out. The title: Is Your Bubble Filled with Despair, Hope, Anger or Soap?
It’s about the bubble economy.
gotta have a gimmick
tis a fine diary dood — tweeted and recommended
I didn’t know the Chinese had curses. I thought they turned everything into good. Along the lines of celebrate hard times because they are behind you.
it has its own wiki even
My $23 LED light bulb arrived today. It will never save enough energy over its lifetime to justify the UPS truck driving way out here.
But it is ossim! It is, in fact, utterly unremarkable. You can’t tell it isn’t an incandescent. Except it is at room temperature and only draws 7 watts. Light is the same, size is the same (the CF stuck out of the fixture by a half-inch). It doesn’t weigh a whole lot more than an incandescent.
I certainly can’t recommend that people go out and spend $15 per bulb to replace everything in the house, but LED light development seems to be progressing much faster than CF development did. In 10 years, all lighting will be LED. About the time the CFs finally wear out.
I’m watching a film I’ve never seen before — No Reservations.
Thanks, it was a bit too long but I enjoyed sticking the photos in it.
I take it you didn’t read the wiki. It’s an English fiction.
hey dave — how ya doing tonight? is that the light you plan on using as a reading light?
i loved the pictures — esp that mr housing bubble one
Before I doze off to sleep can anyone who subscribes to Credo Phone give me a reason not dump Verizon. Thanks.
Yup. I can never buy another one.
i did read it — included the wiki on it because it has such an interesting history going back to the 30′s… i wonder if it was something that came out of the great depression
I’m having serious second thoughts about CFS. I either got a bad bunch, or two, or newer bulbs aren’t lasting as long as older ones. Not to mention they really aren’t that bright and I did have one blow up a few years ago. Literally explode.
hey hate2haggle — how ya doing tonight?
Salut! C’est beau de vous voir. Parfait, vraiment. Je trouve que je ne veux vraiment pas au même pas parler Anglais.
Maybe I should have read past the first couple sentences, sorry.
*heh* The ‘May you live in Interesting times’ is probably the worst of the bunch…! ;-)
yay! is it as good for reading as you hoped it would be?
no need to apologize… i grew up with it as a family saying and it wasn’t until i realized others used it too that i googled it and found out that it was *not* a family saying
That is true — best said in French! Big kisses love!
I actually used a very funny vide, but I couldn’t include it. Here it is. It’s a dog biting bubbles and a baby laughing
They got cheap, mass produced. Getting the costs down is good, but the quality control suffered a bit.
Oh, and they all contain mercury. So when it explodes, you get a little dose.
a different gypsy
Great for reading. Generally ossim.
I use Virgin prepaid and have no reason to switch to Credo. I’ve never understood the prejudice against prepaid. Can’t beat the price. And I honestly don’t think we’ve ever had a dropped call, albeit, we don’t use it all the time.
isn’t that the last link in your diary? so flippin funny
sweet!
I think CF will be a transition technology. Good to get us weaned off Edison’s fine invention. Despite what Michelle Bachmann thinks.
and yet another
Yes. I liked that I was able to find a video that showed my bubble themes.
I’m guilty of not reading what ya wrote @34…! Another Latte headed your way, Suz…! 8-)
I was busy tending to my homemade chicken tenders I’d just made…
Michelle Bachmann thinks?
On edit: She has brain farts.
Off to bed. Tired from yoga. Tomorrow is another day. God as my witness, I’ll never be hungry again! Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn.
Be good to one another.
thanks for the latte dood — wanna slide a few of them tenders this way too?
g’nite dave
eyes
Piping hot outta the oven…! ;-)
thanks dood *smooch*

Shit that didn’t show up as a link.

chicken
I give up.
tuez, i was able to see your cut and paste chicken video link just fine….
It worked on your edit, tuez…!
Anyway when Southern Culture on the Skids (love the name) does that in concert they throw KFC chicken into the crowd.
love SCOTS…. camel walk is a fav
I just happen to be wearing one of their T-shirts, which is probably what made me think of it.
My T-shirt is on the skids.
They play free at street festivals all over NC.
sweet! how many times have you seen them?
I’ve seen them a bunch over the years.
For a Yankee, despite Tut’s suspicion I’ve never lived north of the Mason-Dixon line, SCOTS is a hoot on multiple levels.
i would love to see scots and the lounge lizards on the same stage — would be one hella show
The irreverence and irony would be delicious. HA
oh yeah… perhaps get the street spankers on the same bill and it would be sold out immediately
Evening pups.
I’m with tuezday re: prepaid. I suspect that the prejudice against it is being carefully sown… imnsho,it’s a great way to maintain a grip on fixed costs.
Too bad if some entity would prefer taking my (not much, if at all) cheaper “subscription” to the bank.
hey sunny — how was your day?
I remember that!
i featured that and the scots camel walk videos up top iirc. i think i’ve also featured the lounge lizards (trying to remember what song that was)
So one of the current projects I’m working on is inviting Jamie Dimond, Chase CEO, to come visit a neighborhood that has been devastated with foreclosures. We are video taping the ask. The narrative is like Rodger and Me. After he rejects the invitation we will be asking other people who know Dimond to see if they will ask him, and tape their reasons for why he won’t meet with us. We are going to ‘bring him out of his bubble” and into our bubble. That will be my follow up to this diary.
oooooo *rubbing hands together gleefully* that’s gonna be a good one spocko!
I’ve never lived north of the Mason-Dixon line… So how can ya call yourself a Yank, then…?
Personally, I wouldn’t want to be called a Yankee myself…! ;-)
If you pull that off….
Dimon, spocko…! James “Jamie” Dimon… That sounds great, spocko…!
despite
I’m from Jersey, wanna fight about it.
so ya have lived north of the m/d line? i’m totally confused
I’m working with a group out of NY Communities for Change.
I’ve helped write the scenario and they are doing the calls and video taping. Then were are going to move it over to other people like the NY Fed public representative and other Chase executives. What I’m going to try and show is just out of touch they are from the community that they are supposed to serve. And, if we are lucky, they will also reveal their real “let them eat cake” selves.
We know that Dimond probably won’t come. We are preparing for that. What we don’t know is if the NY Fed public rep will come visit. As I told the group. She is more like Darth Vader who has some good in her. Dimond is probably like the emperor.
*heh* And I betcha root for the Yanks too, eh…? ;-)
As Steve Gilliard used to say: FTFY…!
a little off the subject, but surely a major controversy
on the other coast.
Because of this
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/09/27/google-heavily-criticized-for-its-is-my-son-gay-app-for-android/
I went ahead and marked my territory here:

which I’ve always felt was appropriate but restrained myself
from doing heretofore, basis
my own website (which I won’t spam,) just the same.
congrats on snagging the happy lucky 100 spocko!!!
Joizey is definitely north of the Mason-Dixon line, Suz…!
Yup, grew up in Jersey, spent a couple miserable years in Iowa during my first attempt at college, then headed south where the weather was more to my liking.
hey holygenes — how ya doing tonight?
Jeff Torborg is a cousin.
Great number, Suzanne. I had never seen it.
I was music director of a production of Gypsy in Wasilla/Palmer back in 1996. We had a great cast, with the mom – Rose – being played by the real mom of Baby June and Gypsy. I got a nine-piece band, which was as big a group as VPA (Valley Performing Arts) ever budgeted. We did 15 performances in the Valley and Anchorage.
I had to conduct, sometimes play keyboard, and play trombone (the slide works in place of a baton). It was so much fun!
I’d like to direct Gypsy again.
Thanks for the help with Geoffrey Dunn this morning.
seems to me there should be more vid of the real gypsy then this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m9kd_nD1mA
would love to see it if someone can find something
hey et — how ya doing tonight? i started looking for great gypsy stuff when you shared the gotta have a gimmick video a while back
i wudda loved to help out more but bev beat me to it
hey perris — how ya doing tonight? i was real disappointed in my search too :(
cannot close me eyes so here I am, good to see you too suz
its been a while for sure dood — how ya been?
How in the world do us regulars miss dustups like this:
http://fdlaction.firedoglake.com/2011/09/27/health-care-reform-likely-heading-to-supreme-court-before-2012-election/
Even when I’m paying attention I miss the good stuff.
Long day. Gotta finish pulling food out of the ground tomorrow. It got down to 24 last night and will probably dip to 27 or so tonight. Gotta save over 1,000 carrots! I put some mulch over them, but the coming cold is inexorable.
tough year suzy, toughest of my life, things everyone goes through with aging family and friends but when it happens, it’s brutal
otherwise I am fine, great to see everyone late night!
i was at your blog last night drooling over the pics
i’m so sorry perris…
Got to admire anyone who can grow anything up there.
Very excellent that you had a good time with your mother.
Fun day here. Blew my diet to bits on splendid Indian food. It’s new to me and I love it.
i always allowed myself one cheat a week when dieting… made it a lot easier for me to stick to it the rest of the time
It was a wonderful day to get down on my knees in the dirt. Digging up the potatoes, that are planted in the coolest part of the garden, my hands were starting to numb from the chill by the time I had them all out.
*brrrr* hands cold or ears cold is the worst cold for me
toes for me.
thank goodness for glove warmers and those boot warmer insert thingies. i used a lotta them my first winter up here along with constantly wearing my watch cap — i had permanent hat hair that first year
tis about time for me to turn back into a pumpkin peeps. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight
g’nite all
It’s the long hours of sunshine that are key. Finding ways to warm the soil enough to kick the power of the sun into gear is the trick.
