About Firedoglake
Don’t forget Chris Hayes (from the Nation) has a new show on Sunday Mornings: Up with Chris Hayes http://upwithchrishayes.msnbc.msn.com/
I know he said he would have Rachel Maddow on as a guest, and would be talking about raising taxes on millionaires, but it is a two hour show, so there will be other stuff as well.
Nice, thanks.
hi Ellie! just driving by…
Good morning, pups. It’s a busy day today, with Dowd, Friedman, Kristof, Bruni and Collins. In “Eggheads and Blockheads” MoDo has a question: Why do Republicans want to be the Stupid Party? The Moustache of Wisdom, in “Israel: Adrift at Sea Alone,” says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s strategy doesn’t give America anything to work with. Mr. Kristof, writing from the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, gives us “Glimpses of the Next Great Famine.” He says the famine in the Horn of Africa, as seen from the world’s largest refugee camp, is a kaleidoscope of suffering. But there are also glimpses of hope. Mr. Bruni, in “The Affliction of Comfort,” says if you think the American government has problems, take a look at Italy. Ms. Collins looks at “Rick Perry, Uber Texan,” and says we have had several Texas presidents, but none so deeply, intensely Texas as Rick Perry would be. Heaven spare us…
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got French toast made with challah and a bit of cinnamon, with warm maple syrup. The little boy kitteh is sitting under my desk whining, so it’s time to go and feed kittehs. Have a great day.
Good morning all,
Do I watch the architect of the overthrow of our constitution explain his narcissist psycho-sexual explanations for his obsession with torturing and murdering Muslims or stick my head in the toilet to start my day ?
The traitor dick makes the make believe president a chump, becoming an accessory to torture instead of prosecuting the domestic enemy . Dick doing the in your face chumps, TV torture tour shows what cowards ,barry and eric, really are . They all deserve to end their days, side by side, in Gitmo especially the guy that kept it open .
Good morning all.
Does Kristof made the point that if the U.S. hadn’t been destabilizing Somalia for decades there wouldn’t be a famine. Yeah, I didn’t think so.
On the MSM shows today, the extreme left-winger representing the edge acceptable economic views
seems to be Dick Durbin, who, while not in Mark Warner’s Gang of 36,
cheered them on from the sidelines. The Sunday shows are like a debating society at Versailles.
Nazi Germany had more diversity of opinion in the govt than the U.S. Hitler’s max vote was something like 38%, and they had many more than 2 parties with a lot of diversity. That was, of course, bef Hitler figured out a way of becoming a dictator, but at least then he did not pretend that it was a democracy.
Oh god. From a USAToday joint interview with Patty Murray and Jeb Hensarling
of the Super Committee.
My impression of Murray was always as a D-list backbencher. Looks like that was too generous.
Good morning, pups! One of the presenters at last week’s webinar was Nirvana’s former bassist Krist Novoselic. Hadn’t thought of Nirvana in decades and was never a fan, but interesting that they’ve cropped up now twice in the same week.
I wonder if there will be any mention on the bobblehead shows about the #TakeBackWallStreet demonstrations?
Watching Chris Hayes’ new show, guesting Rachel today, now in panel time with a group, oh, and here’s Jerry Nadler. Watched yesterday as well.
A shocking development. Intelligent Sunday morning discussion. The anti-stupides.
Geeks Rising.
I can happily turn off the teevee after the show and tune out the Versailles Villagers.
I wonder if Chris’s show will be available on MSNBC in videos like Rachel’s is (and KO’s was)? I don’t have cable, and would love to see at least some of Chris’s show.
Of course Germany had a more informed public prior to Hitler usurping all power. The U.S. public is nowhere near as informed as German citizens circa 1932-33
The Saturday show was up by the afternoon, http://upwithchrishayes.msnbc.msn.com/ Check it out for interview w/ Nancy Pelosi and panelist Bob Herbert. The show just finished, so I’m hoping we’ll get to see it online in an hour or so. :crosses fingers and knocks wood:
Sorry to be O/T. It was suggested that I attend Caturday. I couldn’t find it. Is it only periodically? Thanks in advance for your help. Back to regularly scheduled programming.
