‘Subhuman Nastiness’ as the Grand Old Party

Last week, rabid Teabaggers at the Reagan Library and Aerospace Museum had only to be dusted with a particulate mist of death—a mere mention of Rick Perry’s fetish for gurneys and leather straps—before pointing their nostrils into the air like hounds with tacky spittle dripping from their fangs. Brian Williams had referenced Perry’s 234 human exterminations, and it was as though Santa himself had come to Simi Valley; what unleavened joy this herd took from the news of irreversible extinction and rotting flesh! Such charming souls …

The GOP debates sure seem to bring out the worst of the worst people. Cheering for somebody to die to save pennies per person. Either their philosophy is morally bankrupt or they are. Or both.

And BofA stock is at 7.04 and expected to drop at the bell.

And my Great Pyrenees has got too big for the groomers cage, so they keep her in a pen out in the kennel. The pen has a concrete floor. Thus, she has learned to crap on concrete. Now when I let her out, she craps on the steps. Any suggestions?

There is so much wrong with the Blitzer/Paul question – the least of which is audiences hideous reaction. The whole scene highlights the decadent state of our culture.

Most notably wrong is the assumption that if the person is “intensive care” he/she won’t get treatment. They will. It’s the hospital’s and doctors obligation to treat a person in that state. It’s the “aftercare” where that person is literally screwed.

If the person has a “good” job, why would they not buy into the employer offered healthcare plan. Presumably, the compensation package would offer a so-called “Cadillac Plan” if it’s a good job. If he can’t afford $200-$300 bucks a month it’s not a good job in my book.

Thus, if the job is not “good” and doesn’t offer “Cadillac” coverage then a $200-$300 per month health insurance premium doesn’t offer aftercare, especially in the northeast. If you want to purchase health insurance, good insurance that offers care, treatment and rehab as well as affordable co-pays and prescription prices, then you’re looking at – a minimum – of $700-$900 per month. Even more in some parts of the country.

And probably most notably, this perfectly illustrates the “non-peronhood” the Underemployed/Unemployed currently find themselves. That number today is about 20-percent, most of these people presumably have no or very poor (i.e. cheap) insurance plans. Which means, any of these non-persons who are unfortunate enough to have children, is a double problem.

Finally, “Progressives” have little cause or right to chide the neanderthals in the audience for their reaction. Medicare For All would solve these problems. For decades, the rising cost of healthcare – 3-to-5 times the rate of inflation – has been one of the Top 3 issues voters have cited in poll after poll. Instead, the “Progressives” hook-up with phony baloney memes and solutions (“Public Option”) and enthusiastically endorse candidates who do the bidding of the HEalth Insurance and Hospital lobbies.

And things will get worse until that changes.

It looks to me as though that was a simple industral accident, a furnace exploded. Happens all the time, only reason it’s getting coverage is because it’s at a nuke waste plant.

I wouldn’t expect any radiation or fallout. If it were in the states, I’d expect a minor fine for failure to properly maintain.

Boxturtle (About 10 years down the road for that fine, though)

“Harbinger of things to come” – I would think that ‘too big to fail’ banks losing workers would be a good thing. They would then be smaller and hopefully able to fail if they have failed.

Also, I thought it was the common consensus that these people did not bring any value to American, that all they to is move money around to make more money.

Margaret@13: Feeding her on the steps in another good idea. GP’s may be smart dogs in general, but this one is dumb enough to enter a GOP debate.

Example: She rolls on her back when sleeping. When she’s in the hallway and she tries to roll off her back, her legs touch the walls on both sides. She thinks she’s trapped and somebody has to go push her to one side or the other so she can finish her roll.

The GP isn’t smart enough to figure that out, she just digs wherethe others do.

Ron Paul is fun to provoke. He’ll have us all living in caves, back to nature and all. What would Thoreau have said about that hapless uninsured? I wonder if he would have abandoned his cabin if. . .

Blitzer raised a seriously good question which won’t go away under ACA. It will persist.

Blitzer’s question might go away under single payer with health care acknowledged as a “right.” Then guaranteed, substantially equivalent care is available to all, though it will be unavoidably limited in scope. No mandates there, no insurance in play, and no one has to do anything other than get sick to test it out. Then both those patients could have successful gall bladder excisions, but neither could have a new kidney or liver (and certainly not a new face) at single payer expense. Or, fill in that blank with any of a lot of other very expensive or experimental procedures.

Blitzer’s question could have been better finessed. Paul did the honest thing with that bait and remains as unelectable as before.

I threw those out yesterday. Today I threw out the triscuts and cereal in the pantry.
There’s a joke about a guy who goes into a pawnshop and buys a statue of a rat and walks it all around New York. All the rats follow him all the way down to the harbor where he throws the rat statue off the pier and the rats all follow it into the water.
The next day the guy goes back to the pawn shop and asks if they have a statue of a lawyer. Ba dump dum.

It’s much better. 5 more days of meds.
How am I going to get the ant mess cleaned up while staying down?
Every day I’m up a little more, the pink color is almost gone but I’m just so exhausted and kind of loopy.
Thank you for asking.

Good, here. I am going to farmsit for my son over the next few days. I will have 18 acres, a river, the grandchickens, Rodriguez the goat, Charlie the cat, and Harley the dog all to myself though Sunday.

It has been over a year since I slept with a cat! Good thing Charlie likes to cuddle.

Take her out to the grass (or whatever) beyond the cement everytime you let her out. Repeat until she gets the idea. Use a pet (no pun intended) phrase each trip. The process is laborious, but stick to it. Eventually, you can use the pet phrase to encourage her to keep moving beyond the cement.

nonqui, that sounds really good. You must have very good balance. Did you know that those paddle boards that you stand on are getting very popular now?

We have a canoe but call it the divorce boat :) I would really like a lake kayak.

I’m with you on the fly casting. I truly don’t care (and almost hope I don’t) about catching a fish. Meditative is really the right term.

LOL, I’ve got two canoes, and the balance thing comes from standing and using a push pole to propel the small craft. Won’t buy into the stand up paddle boards, I don’t look good in neoprene, but I like to get out on the water when it is no longer warm enough for swimming and to have a place to put my camera, a small lunch cooler, and a fishing pole. Good day everyone.

The joke is that Perry’s love was actually bought by $200,000 – the drug lobbyist “friend”‘s gift.

The other question is did he giver the money back when it turned out he could not force 6th grade girls to have a medical procedure via his executive order – so the drug company never got its increase in sales.
