If one listens to the full version, with a bit of a buzz on one way or another, it still has that epic multiple parts impact like rock opera like tunes had . . . Stairway, Freebird n the like.

Amazing that I thought Jimi was IT back in the day. So many of us worshiped him because of his world view. Sad what has happened…. I still hold out hope.
Heh, seen him in a few movies lately n a local second tier channel.
He did one wierd one with Johnny Depp that was done in 90 minutes as was the plot outlined to be done . . . In The Nick Of Time. Weird, but I liked it . . . hard to do a movie in 90 minutes, with the plot set to 90 minutes, too . . . art! *G*

The woman who was the guest talked about a scary new group of Christian Dominists.
I worked with her before her interview. I’m pleased at how it turned out, but one of my suggested examples was cut out of the interview. It was about the destruction of Native American relics by the NAR. The NAR are closely tied to Rick Perry, Bachmann and Palin. You really should listen to the interview, it’s frightening.
Well put.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Tim Cook is a fine executive.
But the mercurial genius & tyrant put this company on the map, lifted it from doom in the late 90′s, and breathed the innovative dominance into the Cupertino campus.
I did hear the interview. Those dominionists are damned scary people. But if the rest of us don’t stand up to them, they will roll over us. What in the heck is the matter with the general populace? Sheesh!
But, to add, I was recently in Montana with family and I mentioned that I was most disappointed in my vote for Obama than any other vote I’d ever made. My peeps looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo…. one said, “Really???” — like I was some kind of crazy woman. Progressive message not getting through. At. All.
I liked the part about the little hate cells already all around the country, driving wooden stakes in the grounds at “unholy and demonic,” (anybody’s but their beliefs) places of worship and calls for martyrs. Lovely things sprout up in the face of abject poverty and no hope or changey.
My very good friend opened the Hi-Fi Buys stereo stores in Atlanta and Athens, mid 1970′s. A guy comes in, puts on his audition vinyl of Innagoddadavida, my friend runs out from his office, screams at the guy to leave and never come back.
hahahaha my parents hated that song the moment they first heard it blasting from my hifi in my room. my father used to bellow all 3 names and demand it be turned down immediately
Careful pruning and I ended up with almost little trees in a five gallon pail with a stump as fat as the forearm on a concert pianist. Was fun at the time, I don’t have regrets, moved on though, I guess.
Edit: but reverting to one’s prior education in order to survive in this economic mess, has crossed my mind.

Thanks, Margot. I just emailed the article to my family in Montana. Don’t know if they’ll comprehend, but the article was nicely and succinctly phrased.
Early teen, transistor radio n ear plug, wandering the fog shrouded streets of San Mateo’s east side . . . classic tune from that part of my life . . . had forgotten how heavy that one was on my teen aged angst n ragin hormones . . . girls felt that song too . . . heh, Heaven Scent was the female early teen rage perfume . . . I can still catch it’s wift on the wind as I dream back . . . heady stuff for early teens. VERY intoxicating.
Had to laugh. I went back to our little town judge to see if I could get my daughter’s juvenile record expunged. He said, “Gee, I don’t think we keep any records at all.” She went on to be PhiBetaKappa, etc., etc. I hope he was telling the truth!
he kept it local and didn’t keep records :) i, on the other hand, was in the juvenile justice system and therefore had to hire a lawyer and petition the juvenile court. even tho i had mine sealed, when i was testing at the pd, i told the guy giving me the lie detector test all about it. didn’t want a false positive about a sealed record or some other physical reaction to disqualify me.
I read all 390 replies on the NPR website to get an idea how they will respond they I designed our response to their response.
What is good news is 90 percent of the people commenting didn’t like them either, and most of them were Christians. I wanted Rachel to make clear how the old and new groups were. They are going to attack her and they will overreact.
I want to be ready.
I worked in a juvenile court for years, and I do think that expunging records of kids who fly right is just the right thing to do. I loved working with spunky kids. Best job I ever had.
I’m near 60 but in that boat now with my teen, still a chance that it might not get forwarded to court and stay in social services. I sweating it for her and with her. IIRC someone mentioned I should talk to you. Official intake session is next week.
Weird basil story: I snipped some top stems, put them in a jar of water with air holes in the lid. A few days later, two of them sprouted what looked like roots (like on scallion bulbs). I transplanted them in potting soil with other herbs, and they’ve been growing tall and flourishing. Ever hear of such a thing?
Two of my three kids “encountered” the juvenile justice system in our small town. The third also encountered them, but she and her boyfriend narked for them, so she got off clean. Crazy. I didn’t mind having the help of the community law officers in corralling my kids when they were running amok. I’m still pleased that I got to raise my kids in a town where everyone knew everyone…..and cared about everyone.
I worked for 8 years at a juvenile court in a county north of us. I was a social worker and adolescent/family counselor on the side for a private hospital. I love kids. Love the spunky ones the best.
Non…. I’m dwrushing at aol.com if you want to chat. I’m off to Cartagena, Colombia with my twin brother in a couple of days and will be off line for ten days, but I’d be happy to give you some encouragement. I love kids.
I got lost lookin for a QMS song they did on a final album that rocked .
Come Back Baby, off of Gypsy Lights . . .
Couldn’t find it, but I DID find this RARE clip n reality of Dino with the band and John Cippolina in it too . . . . they often didn’t play together at the same time, John left the band once or twice when Dino got out of jail . . . this clip is BEFORE Dino got busted n just before the Fillmore East.Fillmore West album Happy Trails was released, sans Dino.
This clip don’t suck for the band’s heart, and intensity at the time.
Both of them send me into swoons still (n yep, there are heartaches involved in them for me) . . . I try not to let my old lady know of this or see it when it happens . . . -)
Memories are grand, reality is something I treasure for 27 years now.
tis about time for me to turn back into a pumpkin pups. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight and for all the trips down my musical memory lane ya shared.
No, and they hadn’t grown nib stems ready to flower up there either. But I haven’t been able to do it again. Maybe I did it at the full moon or at the new moon. I googled for it, but found nothing about it. I didn’t dream it either — two ‘new’ plants are proof.
I often cut basil and stick it in a water glass. Sometimes sprouts roots, but I’ve never tried planting them.
This might be a good year to try. I have two different big leafed round bushes in pots. No idea their varieties. Bought them as seedlings at the FM. Flashy and pungent.
My sister lives a few miles south, 3-4 degrees warmer (hotter), grows her basil in-ground but uses bought soil since our earth is red clay, her leaves are the size of your hand, my leaves (above ground pots) are maybe the breadth of two fingers, though when they’re young the leaves are broader. Three different plants, one sprouted in Georgia I raised indoors until summer, one was hydroponic sold to be eaten, and the biggest was already lush in a large pot along with oregano, small tomatoes (all shapes) and marigolds. Wrens built a nest in the large pot but abandoned it when I looked in at the wrong time. The other day a hummingbird checked out the marigolds, snubbed them (they’re tiny) and flew off.
Way, way back, Suz!
hey newton — how ya doing tonight? didja bring your love beads and incense?
Aloha, Suz and pups…! *heh* My Mom used to play this song so much, it drove me crazy…! ;-)

Lost cells n all that . . . ;-)
I have had terse conversations with friends and they say those same things. Doing the best he can, would you rather have Palin, etc.
LYDIA!!!!
God the peninsula loved her and that band!
I know I did!

Makes me crazy! I say, why couldn’t he be even half of what he implied that he was? Is that too much to ask?! I. Think. Not!.
he kept it local and didn’t keep records :) i, on the other hand, was in the juvenile justice system and therefore had to hire a lawyer and petition the juvenile court. even tho i had mine sealed, when i was testing at the pd, i told the guy giving me the lie detector test all about it. didn’t want a false positive about a sealed record or some other physical reaction to disqualify me.
post it notes dood. right next to the monitor
Hope everyone’s watching & listening to one of the best. She’s still active, still Cold, her nose has grown some and drooped, but not her pipes.
Yep, i harvest and top off a few times every year.
Just finished planting some last seeds in our front side which gets more sun this time of year.
Cleaned out n pulled all the basil as it was just not growing no mo.

Smack, yep, n there it is . .

Vita-Fluff (“The World’s Finest Shampoo”)
Right. True. Real.
I worked in a juvenile court for years, and I do think that expunging records of kids who fly right is just the right thing to do. I loved working with spunky kids. Best job I ever had.
Good, thanks. Got 17 from the library today.
I’m near 60 but in that boat now with my teen, still a chance that it might not get forwarded to court and stay in social services. I sweating it for her and with her. IIRC someone mentioned I should talk to you. Official intake session is next week.
Heaven Scent! My first real girlfriend wore Windsong. I loved
That smell on her.
I keep ‘forgetting’ to buy that DVD, maybe b/c I’ve downloaded a lot of it already. I recorded the Lamb concert off a Wolfgang stream.
ooooooo i’ve had my eye out for it
She was excellent, I thought. Put out the facts as she knew them without being overtly antagonistic in any sense.
I may have gotten it wrong. Prell for sure. And “creme rinse.” A new invention.
british sterling still makes me get flutterbies — that and canoe
I was sweating bullets getting the write up posted. I spent two days in a car driving and didn’t have a lot of time
To read the book and write it up.
To bed. Night!
like my pearl
g’nite spocko
well fuck… a twofer tonight
Off to dreamland people, it’s been a real slice of nice chatting.
Thanks Suzanne.
our Gov Brownback is one of those New Apostolic Reformists.
He scares us too
g’nite nonq
Thanks so much, good night.
Spunky, mine has plenty. Has those good genes from me, I think.
hey ks — how’s ks tonight?
Hey, Mona. I’m Tellin Ya, This Is A 3 Day Diary If I Did QMS.
Wish I could FIND that Come Back Baby, Dino at his best and the band just cooks one last time on it. LeSigh.
Did you ‘wear’ White Shoulders or Most Precious?
Caught that, I may take you up on it. Thanks again.
LOL! Mine’s full up with stuff I have to remove cuz it was insane to write down in the first place!
Glad to hear I’m not the only cheetoh stained finger person with this issue . . lol
i wore vanilla extract at the time
Both of them send me into swoons still (n yep, there are heartaches involved in them for me) . . . I try not to let my old lady know of this or see it when it happens . . . -)
Memories are grand, reality is something I treasure for 27 years now.
Without scent or song . . . ;-)

Never even thought of this . . . were the top stems flowering?
What a great way to create new starters! Less seed cost!

Smart, very smart. That other stuff, all of it, they use dogs to ‘test’ it, observe the snout spasms and look for unsheathed pink down below.
Bwhahaha…! Just not your nite, eh…? ;-)
See? Proof-positive it was The World’s Finest Shampoo, says so right on the jar. (I got the plastic bottles.)
Margot! Probably I’m significantly older than you are…. gulp.
Sweet dreams, Suz and all…!
Flashy and pungent.
nite all. Thanks for the good company.
