Remember when the Secessionist called Social Security (and Medicare and Medicaid) a “Ponzi scheme” and wrote a book about how unconstitutional it was.
Well, he takes it all back.
[Perry's] communications director, Ray Sullivan, said Thursday that he had “never heard” the governor suggest the program was unconstitutional. Not only that, Mr. Sullivan said, but “Fed Up!” is not meant to reflect the governor’s current views on how to fix the program.
Hilarious. This is exactly what he did when he openly called for secession. He shot his mouth off at a Teabagger rally, then slinked away like a coward.
This guy’s an even bigger phony that Willard, and that’s why he faced a primary challenge from a Teabagger in 2010. Wingnuts and Village Media who swooned when the Secessionist entered the race will soon be disillusioned.
There’s a reason this Bozo couldn’t break 40% against the likes of Kinky Friedman.

I sure hope BOA, we will help you, doesn’t hear that. He probably just lost their support, um help.
He can’t even fix his own hair, let alone our major social insurance program. Tell him to keep his hands off of it!
Perry and the other crazies are NOT MEANT to win. Their purpose is to reinforce the “Lesser Of Two Evils” meme and get the real Republican candidate, Obama, back in office.
But what do you really think, Mr. Texan? Don’t hold back.
Hey, I’ve had to live with this guy as my governor for years. I’m FED UP!
Given the willful ignorance of large swaths of the U.S. electorate and a corrupt and complicit corporate media Perry will likely go far.
Bingo! We have a winner. There’s nobody that will serve Wall Street and the corporate interests better, while appearing to oppose them, than Obama. It’s the ultimate in kabuki theater.
He’ll certainly benefit from the largess of Harold “Superfund” Simmons and the Koch Bastards, er Brothers.
I don’t think he’s crazy. I think he’s just a hack.
Yup. The GOPer fat cats are gonna bankroll the loony GOP candidates so as to make sure Obama wins. Why not? Obama’s the best GOPer the fat cats have ever had.
Does it bode anything for a campaign if they can’t get their own communications director to listen to the candidate?
Perry is just trying to fit in with folks in Austin. He’s just trying to “Keep Austin Weird” in his own unique manner.
You’ve got to admit that Austin’s gotten weirder since he arrived, right?
The real “scheme” going on here is the illusion of democracy our media tries to perpetuate every election cycle. This is nothing more than a forced media narrative to create a “what if” scenario. What if Obama ran against Bush. The PTB are quite happy with their servile lap dog called Obama. Bush/Perry could never get away with the destruction of the safety net like Obama has or any other republican. The puppets are interchangeable.
Well to be fair, Perry didn’t say how he would “fix” Social Security. Gut it or dismantle it altogether – decisions, decisions. I’m sure Perry is intent on “fixing” the Constitution to his liking as well.
OT– “Surprise: Kucinich appears in Seattle to rally marijuana activists” (RawStory, embedded video, Aug. 22, 2011)
Twice this week I heard two Republicans remark that “Obama has been pretty good to us”. If this isn’t a reason to dump this prick I don’t know what is.
I grieve for you Blue Texan…I know how you feel..coming from a State that put Pawlenty in the office of Governor for two terms.
Agree with you & MailersGhost that Perry is just a fluffer to gin up the “other side” to vote for Barry Zero. Yet another Act in the giant Kabuki Show called “Democracy in Action.”
It seems to me that Perry – no doubt via some Koch-paid operative who carefully instructs Perry on what to say at any given moment – bellows out something stupid on cue, which reliably *distracts* the Tea Partiers & makes them believe that Tinkerbell’s “giving” them what they want.
Seceed! W00t! Soc Sec is a PONZI scheme & unconstitutional! YAY! I, Hair Perry, shall fix something!! Huzzah!
Meaningless, except in context of the Kabuki Show.
He’s going to “fix” it the way a vet “Fixes” a puppy.
Strange then that Gallup has Perry polling in a dead tie with Obama in the 2012 election. Maybe Kinky should jump in the primaries?
Obama is very lucky that the Rethug field is so awful. He will easily defeat either Perry or Romney in November 2012.There is no one who stands a chance not even Chris Christie. The further the party lurches to the extereme right, the better it is for the Democrats
I wonder who the Rethugs will run against Andrew Cuomo in 2016.Maybe Christie but you can only go so far by getting the public employee unions under control, its really not a Federal issue. Is it possible that they would dare get Jeb Bush to run in 2016?
