David Gregory: You know, Perry talked about potentially seceding from the union. You think that’s extreme. Well people on the other side think that introducing health care reform for the whole country is akin to European Socialism.
Secession now equals what the right says about health care reform?
But it can get worse, because the White House buys that argument. God forbid they lead, much better to cower.

About Firedoglake
Fluffy draws the lines where the sponsors instruct: DFHs over here, Very Serious People over here. Once that task is complete, a robot could do the work that’s shown on air every week.
Was he tap-dancing when he made this pronouncement?
It couldn’t be more depressing. As the cosmologists ask, will human beings wipe themselves out before making contact with other life, letting them know we’re here, etc.? Maybe it’s just our little empire dying a natural death, albeit a little early, but, damn, the future is darkening with these idiots throughout the operational controls of our society.
Gregory is correct. He said “people on the other side” of Perry (i.e. Democrats) think Obama’s reform law is akin to “European socialism.” It is INDEED “extreme” to assume such a thing because it’s NOT socialism at all. On the contrary, Obama’s “reform” law is a giveaway to private health insurance companies. It’s corporatism, not socialism.
Does anyone really watch or care about these Sunday clowns? I turned them off two decades ago. There was a brief period, in my early teens when I thought these people must be well educated and wise. It didn’t take long to realize they were cheap entertainment, talking nonsense.
Gregory is not correct. It is the same side doing both. Gregory reads Murdoch’s Wall Steet rag too much and doesn’t have a clue. Though I agree there is no “socialism” when you are giving money to corporate monopolies hand over foot! Unless you want to call that socialism for the rich!
I watched the Sunday shows religiously for two decades, but stopped watching around the time they peddled the weapons of mass destruction in 2003. Not only are they propaganda outlets for the Fortune 500 and the federal government, but they are BORING as hell. A big YAWNER!!!
They rehash”News” and make illogical “predictions”! They don’t talk about the 6.3 Million Americans who have been unemployed over 6 months or the “In total, US millionaire households have at least $45.9 trillion in wealth, the majority of this wealth is held within the upper one-tenth of one percent of the population.” The US is two contries. 10% of the haves, and 90% of the have nots. Last year America spent $65 billion on Food Stamps which for 4 Million people it is their ONLY source of income!
Nothing David Gregory won’t say. Sedition’s OK with him.
Guess it has something to do with getting paid to talk like that.
I’m afraid it can and will get a hell of a lot more depressing.
Fuck ‘em all. I’m so enraged at Onothing, that’s all I can say.
Good morning, pups. It’s The Pasty Little Putz and Krugman today. The Pasty Little Putz is praying for a Republican savior, and he think’s he hears “Chris Christie’s Cue.” He believes that yes, Republicans can do better than a Romney-Perry slugfest (with Michelle Bachmann as spoiler). And he’s praying for Christie to saddle up and ride to the rescue. Must suck to be you, Putz. Prof. Krugman, in “The Texas Umiracle,” says Rick Perry will likely campaign on claims of an economic miracle in Texas, but the miracle is a myth. You call it a myth, I’ll call it a bald-face lie.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, the cold drinks are in the fridge, and the biscuits are out of the oven. My old joints are acting up, so I’m off to dig out my wrist braces and snarf up some ibuprofen. Have a great day.
What do you expect from a guy, who when asked if he had any responsibility for spreading disinformation about WMD said it’s his job to “get access”. Nothing about the truth, nothing about responsibility, just keep his access to the MOTU.
They hate Christie in NJ. He is a walking personality disorder that is in line with the rest of the Teabag nuts.
“Democrats” like Corzine are the reason we have Republicans like Christie. I believe Obama is going to do the same thing for the entire nation.
Your death = their dollar
.
Meaning, the thought of being part of a human network that accepts The Other frightens them,
as much as our thoughts of being put in a concentration camp by murderous assholes frightens us.
What interview was that? I’m guessing there was no follow-up question like, “What the fuck?”
.
They’re all such jerks. Such negative charisma. The kids from school who got A’s but even the teachers hated them…
I’m not to impressed with Mr. Gregory’s Sunday fiasco. I stopped watching afer the interview with Michelle Bachmann. It appears to me, that the way he was bashing her, freedom of religion is not a basic right for anyone thats running for president! I wander who pulls his strings?
Apparently no longer applies to either Republicans or David Gregory.
It wasn’t an interview. Remember when “journalists” were being asked a few years ago if they felt they had any responsibility in spreading the Bush administration’s propaganda about Iraqi WMD without question? I don’t remember Gregory’s response word for word but it amounted to it being his job, the way he sees it, to report “what both sides say” and not to look for the truth and that he can’t do his job if he doesn’t maintain his access.
Here in New Jersey,Christie is only “hated” by the public employee unions because he was able to get the Democratic legislature to put some controls on their ever rising wages and benefits and as a lifelong Democrat and long suffering New Jersey property taxpayer,I fully support what was accomplished towards this end along with the majority of New Jersey voters.
Unless you live in New Jersey, you really have no idea of what the situation was prior to Christie, sure he is a bully but it took a bully to do what he did. I only wish Obama was a little bit of a bully with the GOP House.
Personal gain, didn’t realize he as an agenda? He is no Tim Russer.(RIP)
No, he’s no Timmah but before we get too effusive and nostalgic, we should remember that Timmah was just as guilty as the rest of them.
If Boeing wanted Timmeh to be neutral about sedition, he would have been neutral about sedition. Possibly a trace more shame than Gregory, that’s all.
Perry is by far the best representative of the Confederate party.
The absolute worst thing about Obama is his half-assed attempt at things.
Who will listen to a government solution to health care again? After this mess he created? It isn’t true reform, or even a progressive solution–but it will be looked at as such.
What about “stimulus”? That’s just a dirty word now.
He validates the right and makes solutions on the left look like failures.
He couldn’t be a bigger nightmare for the Democratic party.
That’s why the GOP and the MOTUs will be happy to have him win a second term. Obama has made their lives even softer, and kept them all out of prison, where they belong, Bushie or Wallstreeter.
The GOP’s money men cannot hope for a better deal than the one they get from Obama. That’s why they’ll let the freaks fly their Tea flag in 2012, like they let Goldwater take the nomination in 1964.
Then they’ll come roaring back with a real corporatist Republican country-club Christian who can set things right in 2016. I believe with all my heart than this is their plan.
Otherism. It never really goes away, does it? Our bodies evolved a hell of a lot faster than our psyches.
“Recently the United States held the world’s attention as the members of Congress bickered until the eleventh hour about raising the debt ceiling, and now they are in recess instead of resolving the country’s critical problems. This government is beset with unyieldingly-partisan politicians who seem to be focusing on ideological differences instead of working in the country’s best interests; that they are, but many also are acting out of self-interest and egotism.
8. As disparate as those situations may appear to be, they are closely related—all are prime examples of the duality in humankind. One side wants to maintain all systems and policies that are their power base, the other side wants changes to uplift their lives and offer a brighter future for their children. Duality prevents individuals from seeing a situation from others’ perspective, so instead of reasonable, rational discussion that results in a sensible conclusion to benefit everyone, blind stubbornness prevails.
9. Another aspect of duality is blaming others for unsatisfactory circumstances instead of accepting responsibility for contributing to them and taking determined steps toward prudent, positive changes. People in the United States and other countries who are blaming President Barack Obama for the economic unrest in his country that affects other nations too aren’t recognizing that his essence is not of duality, but of unity. While most leaders who speak about wanting to unify opposing blocs within their countries mean everyone accepting whatever the leaders themselves want, President Obama’s vision and leadership is to unify hearts and minds to achieve harmonious cooperation for the betterment of all.
10. It is far easier to choose or accept in pre-birth agreements a mission of major importance than it is to carry it out once in third density, where darkness abounds. President Obama has been up against the darkest of the dark ones ever since he took office, and even though his light has not diminished one iota, the stress of relentless opposition to what he wants to accomplish for Earth and all of peoples has noticeably taken its toll.
11. Although some members in this government and other country’s governing bodies also have retained their light, they too are swimming against the formidable tide of the Illuminati and those they control through bribery, blackmail or death threats. The momentum of the light is turning that pernicious tide, and both the dark backlash and the many souls who still are unaware of Earth’s ascension are causing confusion and upheavals”

And Timmeh considered all information “off the record” unless specified otherwise.
excellent, Terry right-on
I agree 100%. It is better to do nothing than to do it half-assed. Obama has done little than to tarnish the Democratic brand more into the image of impotent wimps who kiss Republican Asses.
Someone should send Obama a quote from Harry Truman: If you give the people a choice between a Republican and a Democrat who is acting like a watered down Republican, they will choose the real thing every time.”
Gregory is a doofus. It is the same side saying both things. So now, in the never-ending quest to evenhandedly equate both sides, the views of one side are split evenly over both sides? I’m so confuzzled.
Obama is so delusional he thinks he would be the exception.
And yet polls are showing 70% of the democratic base support him. They must have been lobotomized sometime between inauguration and subsequent administration.
good catch, indeed.
you’re *supposed* to be confuzzled!
Yes, lets all race to the bottom instead of giving everyone a fair wage. Go get ‘em “Fat Bastard” Christie.
The right doesn’t buy Corporatism, they love Corps. owning the Gov’t and want MORE of it. They call this Privatization and see it as the solution. We don’t need a Gov’t according to their thinking because the lol “Free market’ will solve all problems and bring peace on Earth ( at least until Je-Zeus returns to smite the unbelievers and the JEWS.)
I’m confuzzled to. :)
As a lifelong NJ resident, save for seven years when I was able to escape this crumbling state, I beg to differ. Christie is hated by an awful lot of New Jerseyeans not just public employees He’s a bully and would never be able to work with other people.
He refused the money for the ARC tunnel which would alleviate much of the traffic congestion on the roads in the NJ/NY commute. There were at least three breakdowns last week on the transit lines. Gee, if only that work on the tunnel had been started. Just think how many jobs that would create. If you’re able to read today’s Times OpEd by Ross Douthat about the great one, take a look at the comments. They’re very revealing.
As for the pension funds, you have to go all the way back to Christie Whitman to see how the funds were raided to give tax cuts to her rich contributors. NJ is a crumbling state from the inside out. We don’t need this fat bastard in NJ or in Washington.
As a final note, I would give him credit for defending his appointee to the court when the guy’s Muslim religion came into play. Other than that, he’s a loser.
I live in NJ as well and I hate to agree with u, but NJ ‘s public sector was totally out of control and had left behind any reality the rest of us had to live with. Its still crazy. I’m moving ASAP. I was born and raised here worked all my life here but, I cannot afford to retire here.
Yes, he’s a bully I agree but, let’s face facts the State is bankrupt and although its not the fault of the Public sector Unions totally they’re part of the reason. When the average working person ( private sector) or even small business person can’t make a decent living and politically connected ( most get their jobs through their political connections) Public employees can retire at 90% of inflated salaries with full health for life its over the top.
I live in NJ and not a public Employee…I can’t stand Christie or Sweeney…I got my new property tax bill and it did not go down it went up…both parties in NJ stink…btw when is Christie going to investigate Wall st Executives for knowingly selling the state pension worthless mortaged backed secruites that cost you and me billions in losses?
McGreevy, Corsine and now this guy,,,this is why my house is for sale and I am moving out of state
Many people say they support him because that’s the simplest way to express opposition to his friends on the right.
I have answered the big surveys and said I supported Obama but only because I believed saying I didn’t would be interpreted as supporting the batshit crazy wing’s opposition.
How are the numbers trending? That may be significantly more important.
