But at least for everyone who’s tired of the depressing squabble, it’ll be over soon because of the upcoming Treasury default deadline, right? Umm…. maybe not.
Strange Tales from a Strange Time: Nixon, Ailes, Cameron, Murdoch |
| By: Phoenix Woman Friday July 22, 2011 6:00 pm |
Watching the fall of Rupert Murdoch play itself out has brought back old, old memories. Memories of the only political scandal I’ve experienced in my homeland that comes even close to what’s been unfolding in the UK right now: Watergate. And to judge from this British piece and this Canadian one, I’m not the only person to be thinking of Watergate in connection with all of this.

By popular request, a re-run from last November.
Barack Obama is walking down the street when he looks in a neighbors garage and sees an old rusty push mower. Knocking on the door, he is surprised to see …

| By: Kevin Gosztola Friday July 22, 2011 4:31 pm |
More than three weeks later and after building up great support from activists, academics, celebrities and others in the US and around the world, the leaders of the prison hunger strike in the Pelican Bay supermax prison have brought an end to their strike and have begun to eat again. No — we’re not there yet.
STILL AT RISK: Despite the certification issued today, it is still unsafe for service members to come out until September 20, 2011, when repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” will become final.
Social Security and Medicare Ads: Approved and Running |

The President is negotiating secret deals behind closed doors, with no transparency, making it almost impossible for the people directly impacted by impending cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits to learn about what’s in store for them until it’s too late.
So we are doing our best to get the word out to those affected. We created the following online ads that will be targeted at senior citizens in Florida and other key 2012 presidential election states. It takes 24 hours to get statistics back on which ones are performing the best.
