From the link above: Taibbi on Bachmann:

…often overlooked is her greatest quality, the gigantic set of burnished titanium Terminator-testicles swinging under her skirt.

Can Barry borrow those?

Thanks for the post, BT.

Good morning all.

Not sure if the testicular endowment metaphore is apropo Bachmann. I’ve long believed she is just plain wired wrong.

As usual, the President prefers the “center.”

that’s kind at best

obama steers everyone toward what the right wing media calls the center, which is far right wing and pretty far from the true center

A run on the banks could not help. Sadly, consumers of bank products are the ones left holding the bag.

Well, “Duh!” That’s because the plutocratic ass he’s trying to shove his nose into has a very well-marked center…

“We don’t have a precise read on why this slower pace of growth is persisting,” Bernanke said. He said the weak housing market and problems in the banking system might be “more persistent than we thought.”

From the Economic Trouble Puzzles Fed Chief, Too piece.

No shit, bonehead. When you’re relying on junk economic theory wtf did you expect? The Friedmaniac fantasy of constant compound 3% growth is not sustainable, if even achievable, in this world.

Morning BT & Pups of Fire:

Must-read Taibbi.

“Bachmann is a religious zealot whose brain is a raging electrical storm of divine visions and paranoid delusions…”

Taibbi is now a contributor to Olbermann’s new gig.

And Rolling Stone has been kicking ass. Good on them.

Barry splits the difference between those who would stay and spend another $400 billion and sacrifice another 700 American lives and those who would get out and spend nothing and sacrifice no more lives by

So according to Obama:

“Some would have America retreat from our responsibility as an anchor of global security, and embrace an isolation that ignores the very real threats that we face…”

So we are an ANCHOR of GLOBAL SECURITY.

That means endless war–forever and ever.

On KO’s show last night, he (basically) asserted that T-Paw and Mannequin will split up the votes of the reality-based Repugnicants (yeah, I know. relative term), and given that Bachmann has the tea-party vote locked up, she could take the rest. In other words, she can go all the way to the convention and play a very formidable (and completely insane) role. Underestimate her at your peril…

It was further asserted that, unlike Palin, Bachmann can string together soundbites in a coherent fashion. Further, she’s learning how to turn off the crazy, so the ultra-nutjob soundbites don’t make it onto Youtube. Again, underestimate at your peril…

Yep. The US of A is nothing if it doesn’t have an enemy the military can pursue. Isn’t it funny that Keynesian economics work just fine where the military is concerned? The Regressives have no problem with govt spending as long as it involves blowing people up.

Yes, and he also describes a path where Bachmann starts picking out WH drapes.

Read the whole piece. Taibbi does a great job as usual, but he really nails the anti-elite current among the voting public. I have joked that a cardboard box could beat Scott Walker in a recall at this point. And that is essentially the secret to Bachmann’s success Taibbi describes in his article.

Read all the way to the closing paragraph, where he really nails the problem (imo). You will not find a better argument anywhere for why letting Dems slide and not running a credible challenger to Obama may be disastrous. People are unhappy with the political class (of both parties) and desperate for a change. Obama and the Dems are too busy raising money to notice. The only thing that might keep the Tea GOP candidates like Bachmann from eating them alive is the GOP penchant for self-immolation over things like threatening to end Medicare and Soc. Sec.

We need better Galtian Overlords.

The economy’s continuing struggles aren’t just confounding ordinary Americans. They’ve also stumped the head of the Federal Reserve.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke told reporters Wednesday that the central bank had been caught off guard by recent signs of deterioration in the economy. And he said the troubles could continue into next year.

“We don’t have a precise read on why this slower pace of growth is persisting,” Bernanke said.

Are any of you ordinary Americans confounded, let alone caught off guard, by the continuing economic deterioration?

I didn’t think so.

The only “amazing” about the Benbernank’s wanking over his “heightened” perceptions about the USA economy is that the Benbernank has *no shame* in LYING like a rug to all and sundry.

Guess his CHA-CHING from his Galtian Overlords makes being a low-class cheap WHORE (with apologies to less pricey prostitutes everywhere) completely acceptable to scummy sleazy weaslely lying jerkoffs like the BenBernank.

Bachmann is energized by opposition and she’s extremely effective at mobilizing support, including money. The MN state house Republicans initially thought they could put Bachmann in her place with a casual back of the hand, but soon discovered just how energized and exigent Bachmann is when she’s crossed. Bachmann has an advantage not given to many of her political opposition: she believes God has ordained her service and she can do NO wrong. God wouldn’t allow it. God will see her to victory. Puts me in mind of the Lord’s Resistance Army in the holocaust region of Africa: if you see yourself as having no limits, you act with no limits. Whatever Bachmann does, God ordained.

I subscribe to Milton’s view that foreseen is not fore ordained.

There are a few knowledgeable astrologists on this site. Look up Bachmann, April 6, 1956, time unknown. She is not internally what she presents publicly.
