In that LA Times piece Assad has that deer in the headlights look. Owl eyed, too?
So he’s killed a mere 1,400? Maybe he’s worried he’ll never get to the 20,000+ record his dad reached to (successfully) crush an uprising years ago. He knows he toast by now.
I wonder if Perry ever got the 1170 bills signed that were on his desk and would expire by Sunday? What a bunch of losers the Republican field is.
Good morning, everyone.
America, home of the DFHs.
Since when does the government listen to the voters, anyway?
Those liberals at the Pentagon to spend $100 million on a math and science education program.
Thanks, BT, keep on telling about TX’s real record, last in folks with health insurance, leading the fight for pollutin’.
Morning BT & FireKids of Fire…
Hedges is up.
Quiet around here this morning…
Thank you, Jon Stewart.
Does anyone suppose that Mike Wallace is embarrassed by what his offspring turned into?
I had to look him up yesterday after someone made a similar comment on another thread. Mike Wallace is 93! And he had another son who was killed and has a daughter whose name isn’t given in his Wiki entry. I was thinking of editing the Wiki to add her name, since it seems unfair to leave her out, but I’ve never edited a Wiki entry so I’m uncharacteristically a bit timid about it.
Mornin’, BT, pups
In late 2002 we were out on street corners and in front of an upscale downtown shopping/movie complex protesting the invasion of Afghanistan and the pending invasion of Irak, trying to convince people of the futility and immorality of such adventures. Six years later we were still at it. Almost 10 years later 37% of the population agrees with us while 36% still think it was a good idea. No wonder people become disheartened.
Quite the interview. Wallace is such a piece of shit. Hope his old man is proud of him.
The Secessionist is ponderin’ it.
An idiot religious nutcase cowboy wannabe from Texas as Preznint? What could possibly go wrong?
Why would the daughter not be acknowledged? Definitely worth looking into.
Sorta like a record with a scratch that keeps playing the same ol’ spot in the tune.
I could only find a mention of her first name, Pauline (her last name is Wallace also) and nothing else at all. The Wiki does say he has a daughter but doesn’t give even her first name. Odd.
EDIT: there apparently is a Mike Wallace who is a NASCAR driver and most of the Google entries are about him. He has a daughter too.
Sadly, know what you mean. In 1962, in HS debate club, our topic was whether or not the federal government should fund education. It’s baaaaack.
I wish that Stewart would respond when asked about his “political agenda” by saying that first and foremost he’s a comedian and he points his comedy at politics. And it just so happens that the right wing is so full of hypocrisy and lies that it’s pure humor gold to point it out.
I really can’t grasp how the scion could have gone so far sideways. The old man’s career, while not without its flaws, does reach back into the legendary Murrow years at CBS. You’d think the kid would have chosen to become a real journalist, rather than a real, ya know, whore.
Gotta bail… Later, Firedogs…
Stewart told Wallace that a “designed ideological agenda” Is “the soup you swim in.” In other words, Wallace and his ilk can’t conceive of a show that doesn’t have a designed ideological agenda because that’s ALL Faux Nooz is.
I’m out too, for now. Chores await. And it’s about to t-storm.
He does. It’s in the clip with the full interview.
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Of course. Two-leggeds aren’t the only species with the ability to hear.
Yes, no wonder we are disheartened. I keep hoping that financial concerns will turn this tide. Well, I guess not.
I trust you had a wonderful Sunday out and about, SD!
Had a great time, saw a good ball game and had wonderful talk with brother and his wife. The older brother had stories younger bro and wife had never heard. *g* Great fun.
I think it may have to do with feeling unable to compete with a powerful father on the father’s ground.
Very late….but I did hear this morning that kicking out the Gov’s Prez campaign is thought to be a done deal…from one of our polital commentators.
Hey, even later here – but yes, I’d say the symptoms show he’s running. Frankly, when he published a book and toured to sell it that was the first clue.
The veto of the texting-while-driving bill was another clue – its defense of “not wanting to micromanage the behavior of adults” a shout=out to the TP libertarian types, and taking off to make speeches while the special session is still on, with bills stacked up awaiting signing, gotta be the last clue before announcement.
Now we Texans have the responsibility of derailing him before he gets off the ground…Sigh. This time we must not fail.
PS and completely OT: I had left a Caturday message very late re. the pill thing. We get along very well through the use of pill pockets…they
must be really good.
