Really, really dry; everyone’s lawns are brown and crispy. But we’re supposed to get some rain tomorrow, fingers crossed. It’s been nice the past few days too, cooler, in the 70′s.

Yes, Goose Hollow tavern is at 1927 SW Jefferson St, across from the Light Rail stop. Get on The Max Westbound then get off at the Goose Hollow station, just before Max enters the tunnel to Washington Park.

It starts at 2PM, and with reasonable weather,we will sit on the big wraparound porch outside. Should be nice.

I’ll have a sign saying FDL propped up. And I wear a cowboy hat,sporting a whitish beard.

A few years ago, my city was in a bit of a financial jam and the council wanted to sell our water/sewer system to the same outfit that just bought Pontiac’s. The citizens weren’t even paying attention until I got off my own ass and wrote letters to the editor, called every local talk tv/radio show and drove it home that we had one of the best water systems in the nation, built over 50 years by some forward thinking planners. It was one of the jewels of our lure to relocating malls and industry.

It didn’t get sold.

Water here was built 100 years ago, from a lake in the Cascades, all gravity fed, (even generates it’s own hydro power) and pristine, yet the EPA says cover the reservoirs and treat for cryptosporidium, which simply does not exist. Today, the water bureau put on a dog and pony show over some dood that (ostensibly!) peed in a reservoir(Gasp) and now they have to cover it. Dead animals in the reservoir, so what, a cup o’ pee, disaster!

They simply don’t give up!
