G’Morning, Again
It’s one thing for Tiny B to do well in an Ed Rollins produced performance, including her big announcement that got the crowd all excited, but I’m wondering how well she’ll do on the campaign trail. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
My most memorable photo of Governor Perry is one of him waving a pistol with the Texas capitol building in the background. Appealing to the fundies won’t help him in the general election.
I didn’t listen to the debate, but I am listening to democracynow’s coverage of it. The candidates are not as crazy loony on national TV as they are in smaller groups. And they have their attacks on O in order.
You’d have to think that history began yesterday to vote for one of them, but that’s what most voters think, so it’s possible that a R could win, just on anti-O alone. He has done a piss-poor job.
I watched it for two reasons. First, sometimes I like to get my own impressions of a debate because in the past, the post event comments make me wonder if I was watching something else. And, secondly, I was helping my son with a project that’s due today and it was way easier to be interrupted watching the debate than if I was reading a book.
Good morning, pups. Looks like I didn’t miss anything by sitting around the neighbors’ firepit with a glass of wine, watching the almost-full moon come up through the trees. A perfect evening, didn’t ruin it with teh crazy.
I’d have to give the win Bachmann. She didn’t come across as batshit crazy and her attempt to peel off the Palinistas might well have succeeded a bit.
More drones in Yemen. Under CIA control. That should solve that pesky AQ problem in no time. Just because it hasn’t worked anywhere else is no reason to criticize it here. Am I the only one who thinks it would be cheaper to just load up a couple of planes with cash and bribe ‘em?
Perry says it’s God’s fault the economy sucks, God is such PRICK!
Boxturtle (Msg to Perry: When I was young, we blamed evil on Satan. What’s changed?)
Actually, what I’ve read is fairly in line with what my impressions were. The times when my impressions were different from the round ups were in debates between an R and a D candidate, like Bush V. Kerry, come to think of it.
I was wondering how long it would take Barry to come up with the excuse that unemployment is “structural.” Which he did yesterday with Anne Curry. Another way to blame the victim.
heh, I listened to the Rays game, loved da tigers and watched Phoebe the hummingbird. No politics and no thinking required, except whether if the batter should bunt or not.
Structural unemployment is the latest meme outta DeeCee. The Villagers don’t give a rat’s ass about how many are unemployed, underemployed, sick or dying.
I listened to a little of cnbc’s post-debate coverage this morning, in addition to democracynow. They were surprisingly similar. Both focused on the attacks on O and both covered Romney’s slide around his MA medical program.
It was! Except for the mosquitoes. No politics. I don’t really know their political leanings, but probably I am to the far left of them, since I’m to the far left of almost everyone I know. But they’re nice people, not fundies or reichwingers, I’m sure of that.
Meanwhile, the Republicans have as many clowns in the lineup as a circus, and we’re supposed to elect one of them?
There are a couple of gal friends from the gym who I still get together with for lunch occasionally. We stay away from politics and religion for the most part. It’s just lunch. I think it’s important to have some social activity that’s just social.
And, in the process of doing nothing, advance every stupid R meme about the economy. By the time this clown gets through, there will nothing left of Keynesian-informed fiscal policy — which is a necessary condition for all progressive policies.
Final segment on democracynow is on formaldehyde. CS First Boston rebuilt the inside of 11 Madison before moving the firm there. I had new building disease for months after the move. Mostly just headaches, but I usually don’t pick up environmental problems, having good genes in that regard, so I was pretty surprised at how much influence the inside air had on me.
Are there any progressive economists left besides you & me? Haven’t all the others been bought of by corp donations to their employers, like think tanks & universities?
Wow, that is a terrible piece on Perry…not that he doesn’t deserve it. While he is tearing down the TX school system….just let ‘em all go to private schools, I guess. But the kicker is the $6,000 + house he and his family have at state expense…couldn’t find a smaller place, I guess. What a hick.
Morning, BT. Bachmann.
listening to cbs radio in new york, talk about obvious anti democrat reporting;
first they went from candidate to candidate listening to them beat up obama
as rebuttal for the republicans claims?;
“the president had his say at a town hall meeting a month ago”
really, that was the ballance they provided
they are all fox now

Well, she could win Iowa and South Carolina — or at least finish strong.
That Perry link reminded me of Margaret’s bumper sticker.
He’ll go all “compassionate”in the general. /s
At the end of the day, the saddest part of this for me is that there is no strong or acceptable challenge to whomever the R’s pick. :(

Mornin’, BT, pups
All I wanna know is who come up with the batshit craziest verbage last night.
x2

who came up with… Sheesh.
How does your post-debate impression compare with any coverage you might have seen already this morning, or after the debate last night?
I was going to write: It’s “who done come up with.”

That sounds delightful.
When the going gets tough, the weak blame God.
(I just made that up.)
Yes, it was the “confidence fairies” and “bond vigilantes.”
Add to them the “structural demons.”
Thanks.

Yes, like O, the Rs will all promise to do something about unemployment, but won’t.

I hope you won’t be offended if I say “cheap date”. *g*
Did you read BT’s Perry link above? That man is downright scary.
I’ll have that on a tshirt, please. And a bumper sticker.
Boxturtle (The temptation to rearrange a certain church sign on my way home is almost overwhelming)
Here’s hoping that Texans wake the h3ll up and boot the 700 Club Televanglist (YouTube.Com, Sept. 13, 2001) warming the seat of the Texas governorship. Contrast what’s allowed to be projected about Texas versus what is being seen of Wisconsin (CrooksAndLiars.Com, embedded video of Feingold speech, June 13, 2011).
So here’s some food-for-thought to make Karl Rove cry: “Not voting for evil is simple, cheap and non-violent.” (CorrenteWire.Com, by lambert, June 12, 2011).
There are a couple of gal friends from the gym who I still get together with for lunch occasionally. We stay away from politics and religion for the most part. It’s just lunch. I think it’s important to have some social activity that’s just social.
Creepy evil scary. Yes, I checked out that link which is what inspired my comment.
Ah, ha! I had to try really hard not to add an “H” to the Prop 8 signs in my neighborhood during that campaign.
“Structural unemployment” is the admission by the DC pets of the bankstas that it is by design. How about “Heathcare Not Warfare“?
And, in the process of doing nothing, advance every stupid R meme about the economy. By the time this clown gets through, there will nothing left of Keynesian-informed fiscal policy — which is a necessary condition for all progressive policies.
Yep. Keynes is truly dead inside the Beltway.
I hope I’m not in the doghouse with SD>
No, she won’t win in Iowa.
Cheapest date in town. *g*
I’m not sure most progressives understand the full implications of that. But, maybe they do.
Oh yeah and how can vulture fund-owning (Boston Globe, Jan. 27, 2008), job-destroying Romney (DownWithTyranny.Com, June 8, 2011) be popular with anyone other than the 1%ers (bankstas and their “investors”) (Jon Walker, June 13, 2011)?
Bet a drink? She’s from Iowa.

Hey, SD, I saw “namaste” on a bumper sticker the other day. I thought of you.
Well you’re getting chemicals delivered directly to lung tissue (see “Drug Delivery to the Lung: Permeability and Physicochemical Characteristics of Drugs as the Basis for a Pulmonary Biopharmaceutical Classification System (pBCS), Journal of Epithelial Biology & Pharmacology, 2010, 3, 1-14) similar to the exposure to cinnamic aldehyde from synthetic perfumes.
What you missed was the hilarity here….tough, funny crowd. ;))
Yeah, I read the thread after I came home. LOTSA comments on that one!
It was definitely fun….for sure, I did not see the debate.
He’ll be resurrected after the next crash when the usual suspects howl, “no one could have predicted.”
