  • Why are we still there?
  • The wages of austerity.
  • Krugman: vouchercare is not medicare.
  • Oh — that’s where the recovery went.
  • We have always been at war with Eurasia.

So, why does our country love war? I think I’ve heard it’s the money and the MIC….Was Ike right? Stop the madness.

The government loves whatever business the lobbyists on K Street are representing on a given week. Be it the military industrial complex, Wall Street and/or pharmaceutical/health care industry.

If you’re looking for something interesting this week to read/listen to, let me suggest Dan Carlin’s Common Sense podcast this week. He talks a lot about the Patriot Act renewal and a lot of caveats that some have may have missed.

Mornin’, BT, pups

Seems like the Regressives are doubling down on just about everything. They’ve got all their turds in one basket and are spending a lot of time trying to polish said turds in their compliant corporate media. Good luck with that, assholes.

Palin’s shit is just too stupid for words.

The progressives wanted a jobs program. ObamaLLP has provided a jobs program. Granted, it’s based on war rather than infrastructure or education but we have to remember that Obama did the best he could.

Palin’s shit is just too stupid for words.

But it is entertaining, however. Her remarks are generating actual real laughter at this point. Melissa Harris-Perry was on Maher’s show on Friday, and she almost fell out of her chair with laughter when she heard about the “Paul Revere” comment.

The GOP Comedy Cavalcade rolls on…

Yes, Sarah is an idiot. But so was Shrub.

One does have to be a little careful here, however. If Americans were asked, “Did Paul Revere warn the British?, the vast majority would have answered no.

Good morning, all …

BT, ’tis good to see you holding forth. I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

This perpetual war “business” is simply endlessly stupid and forever nonsense … an “everywhere” battlefield of intentional mayhem may provide “opportunity” in confusion for “some”, but it is not a viable long-term solution or “philosophy” of ANY merit, being far closer to utter madness and total insanity.

Those who “run” the place have no intention of changing their behaviors, so the rest of us will have to insist that “they” change. Period.

And, SD has “covered” all-about-Palin most succinctly … to the soulful depth and honest breadth which she and her “followers” most righteously deserve.

It is a glorious day, the sun is shining, the birds are singing … perhaps things will all be “left” with the world were we, all, together, just to give genuine peace … a real chance … by insisting upon it.

Good Morning All,

JOBLESS RECOVERY X 287 million!

Nine years of tax breaks, bailouts, giveaways to the upper crustiness of America has not brought this country back to productivity. Time to call bullshit on all their houses!

If Obama had any guts at all, he would say enough of this already and get going on the largest public works infrastructure, green energy, and mass transit programs ever!

I was surfing channels early this morning and stopped to see what that Republican Snake Joe Scarborough was up too. I was just in time to hear his guest Dem Steny Hoyer tell his audience that the two parties are going to have to “hold their hands at the same time over the hot plate” in relation to Medicare and SS. I hope Hoyers Maryland constituents heard this. Another guy that has been around too long. There really is no hope for us is there?

The bad news is that local governments are in even worse shape. Not only are they losing state aid, but they are finally feeling the fallout from the mortgage meltdown. Property tax assessments, a major funding source for municipalities, have only started to drop.

Hang on to your hats, the shit’s about to hit the fan.

And of course it’s Obama’s fault, and therefore the libruls’ fault.

Gotta cut taxes and eliminate some more gummint programs.

You know, I had not thought to liken the two, but you are correct.

I say the Presidential election is not what is important right now. Either way, Obama or a republican, you still get an Austerity bugger republican. The most important elections are the House and Senate.

Obama is a proponent of Tax Cuts and “The (Free) Market” and he is an advocate for Private Sector Hiring.

Obama speaks of the efficacy of Private Sector Hiring as he outsources jobs. He is a Republican.

Obama said plainly, “The Government Can’t Create Jobs.”

yes indeedy! I read somewhere a while back that Obama flat out rejected any type of Public Works programs to get the country going.

Just look at the people he chooses to fill positions. That’s all you need to know. He doesn’t really care what is going on in the country itself, his only worries are about the banks and Corps.

Why does our media not call GOP As Krugman notes even Obamacare tries for reasonable coverage at reasonable cost via subsidies whose size is determined by the need to limit the share of their income that families spend on medical costs.

GOP Vouchercare’s fixed, inadequate to obtain real care, sized vouchers is not about giving a population health care – it is about giving insurance companies a welfare check.

Medicare cost control – as in Maryland – is needed, Perhaps changing the way doctors are paid – as proposed for Massachusetts – will save money, although I doubt it. But the GOP do not propose cost controls other than making all increases in cost not a problem for the government – just a public health problem as more folks get sick from no care.

Krugman noted that the US and Canada paid 7% of GDP in 1970 for health care – now Canada pays 10.5 percent of G.D.P. while we pay over 16%.

If the GOP wants to make Medicare sustainable move health care in the US to the Canadian system. But our media will never discuss this.
