Why are those Fookin’ Canooks singing this classic Murkan tune ?
Our 92 degree weather turned into breezy, lovely 70′s. FANTASTIC.

Help yourself to the Crab Dip & Shrimp Salad … the Lemon Meringue Pie will be ready in 10 minutes.

hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
tired, but fine otherwise.
gotta be good to be back at work
jon stewart is totally cracking me up about the trump pizza with a fork
I spent most of the past two days following up on Mom’s health & safety issues — the work continues ….
how’s she doing?
woohoo — bill moyers on the daily show — that was a great forking book salon
Play this for her, Defend. She’ll be smiling.

emerson! how ya doing dood? love bruce (as you well know)
Bill Moyers is wonderful. True. And we were so lucky to have him at that Book Salon. He actually answered questions and expounded. So unlike some others (Woodward, Alterman come to mind.) Bacevich was another wonder at Book Salon…..just such a pleasure to chat with.
hey dearie — moyers reminded me a lot of the john dean salons. both really get the give and take of salon and seem to enjoy it a lot. how ya doing tonight?
I”m doing well, Suz. Yes, John Dean was another wonder. And the recent pun-fest was also great. So many great books with responsive authors.
bev does a wonderful job finding the authors and hosts and setting up the salons.
I just heard something today about healing traumatic brain injuries with music. Also useful in stroke rehab, they said.
America is less for not having Bill Moyers on weekly to keep us informed, educated and enlightened.
Hi Suz-and I was at that concert last century!
Moyers is one of the last heroes of American journalism. Love that guy.
So, Suzanne, are you getting lots of time with your grandbaby girl? Good stuff.
And, off track, but is staff discussing what’s going on with the drop off in commenting? I lurked for years, so I have a pretty long recollection. Can’t recall such a precipitous drop off. Curious.
how cool margot. if ya run across that link, can ya send it to me?
Good night all!
i miss his show :( he sure had good things to say about jon stewart
how forking cool dood. that musta been one hella show
not much change with her, Suzzz.
i’m hoping to go see her again next weekend. there has always been an ebb and flow to the comments at the lake — sitemeter is showing we are still maintaining the page clicks. i’m thinking that the weather is turning nice and folks are doing other things – reading but not commenting.
g’nite margot
Well, that’s good about the sitemeter. Still…..
And I guess I should be doing other things, too…….like getting some sleep. But, hey, thanks for the great dive earlier. I’ve missed that. Was that your first dive of the season?
glad ya liked it — it was my first dive of the season and i hope to dive more now that the weather has turned nicer.
g’nite dearie
That one and the first big show outside of Jersey at the Fillmore East are the two shows I relish most.
Also to Margot’s point, when I put on classical or symphonic music-my cat comes over and lays down next to me and just looks at me with the most relaxed expression he could have until the piece is over.
night all – be well
g’nite ppd
token responds to live music — he was the band dog for my next door neighbor’s band. he would go over there and sit, listening when they were rehearsing.
My father-now 87-does not remember many names. But when he’s singing songs going back to the 1930′s he remembers every word. and can still sing pretty well. I finally found him the “Eydie” album from 1968 that we both love, and it will be shipped to me tomorrow. I was going to give it to him for Fathers Day, but why wait?
that’s wonderful emerson. its amazing how our musical memories are triggered when we hear a song we’ve not heard for a long time. the words come back as do memories of that era.
So when does the brace come off, Suz?
the doc said 6 more weeks when jujube had her one month apt. that was two weeks ago so 4 more weeks. it still doesn’t seem to bother her in the least.
Excellent! That’s earlier than it could have been!
To celebrate, (I’ve been looking for that album for 20 years) I played this last night.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DRYOFSuWdM
yup. he had said one month to 3 months and still doesn’t see the need to cast her nor surgery. all in all, it was a good appt. jujube has her reg pediatrician appt coming up so i’ll be able to get her #s. she’s plumping up nicely and is a lot more alert. staying awake for about 2 hours or so at a time. unless, of course, its nighttime and then she wants to stay up all night long.
she’s a night owl like her grammy
what a voice!
Haha! Poor Mommy!
When I convert the vinyl to CD, I’ll send you one. You won’t believe the songs she chose, nor how she sings them.
jen’s such a trooper! their 3rd anniversary was this past weekend and jujube had her first sleepover at aunt stacy’s while jen and mike had their anniversary dinner out. after enjoying lakeside dining, they returned home to a babyless house where both had about 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep. it was a very good thing :)
sweet… thanks dood
tis about time for me to head out folks. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
Nice! Jen’s very happy-you can tell in the photos. It’s great you have good in-laws, too. That makes a big difference.
Nite Suz.
