The old men in the Sin-it did a bad thing again today. They have been taking away important rights from regular people for almost ten years now. Right after the 9-11 attacks, Little Georgie B talked the old men into writing the PATRIOT Act. That is a really bad law that takes away rights that the people who started the United States were really smart to put into the first rules they wrote. Today, there was a chance to make parts of the PATRIOT Act better, but the old men wouldn’t do it.
Senator Pat L. said this in an email to Mr. Jim and a lot of other people:
The Senate just voted to extend the PATRIOT Act for another four years. I joined 22 colleagues in opposition to the extension. Today’s vote represents a missed opportunity to improve the PATRIOT Act and ensure it protects the constitutional rights of the American people. The extension bill offers no reforms. It offers no recognition of the government’s responsibility to defend not just our national security, but our civil liberties too.
As the Washington Post noted today, the extension legislation should have included the oversight and auditing requirements that I proposed and a bipartisan majority of the Senate Judiciary Committee approved. The omission of these important provisions in the Leahy Amendment in the final bill prompted my “No” vote today.
Senator Pat L. must be wondering if Hapless Harry is really on the same team. Hapless Harry wouldn’t even let the old men vote on Senator Pat L.’s improvements to the PATRIOT Act. Even Aqua Buddha guy thinks these changes need to be made:
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, a liberal Democrat, and Republican Senator Rand Paul, a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement, together offered steps to bolster oversight of the Patriot Act and increase civil-liberty protections.
These proposed changes cleared the Judiciary Committee, but Leahy and Paul were unable to bring them up for a vote by the full Senate.
I think Hapless Harry didn’t let the old men vote on Senator Pat L.’s changes because he was doing what Mr. O wants:
President Barack Obama is traveling in Europe. White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said that he was prepared to use “the auto pen to sign” the bill quickly into law.
Why does Mr. O hate our civil liberties?
I’m beginning to think that he’s not Mr. O any more but is Mr. Zero.

” Hapless Harry ” that’s a good one.well,I remember remarking just before the Nov’10 election,If Harry Reid is re-elected we can expect to be disappointed for another 6-8yrs,a repeat of what he has done the prior 10yrs.
The real problem is:Dim-ocrats with Radio shows blaring propaganda everyday that the DNC is a progressive Party.Once they can get away with selling that garbage you can expect more of the same.I am sure Harry Reid is going to be garland as a hero on their radio shows.

I’m gratified at the number of senators who voted against the Patriot Act.
And yes, Rand Paul’s defense of constitutional liberty was inspiring I watched it at length.
Unfortunately, Obama and Democrats don’t believe in the Constitution or civil liberties.
They are as bad, if not worse, than Republicans and George W. Bush. We gave away our
civil liberties in exchange for the illusion of security.
A vote for a Democrat is a wasted vote.
Team O. I’m reminded of my suspicions about Lady Chevron Con D. Rice, who i suspect was just getting revenge on the US for it’s mistreatment of blacks in Memphis…or was it Montgomery…right. Montgomery. “Kill my sister 6-year-olds in a church basement? You wait. I’ll get you back.” See? Makes perfect pouting sense now, donutit, baby? They really do hate America.

Sorry pouting Baby – but this is what you get if you elect an ‘Irish’ President. They are ‘tough’ and they get even tougher when you call them wimps or Muslims – Then they REALLY have to join the other tough dudes in the Pub and down a beer with them even if they hate beer! And this has absolutely nothing to do with politics – This is just the ‘manly’ stuff. (and the reason why so many Irish become Policeman Fireman or President!)

At least I’m gratified that BOTH of my Democratic Senators voted against this POS. But the fact is, most of the citizens of this country simply DO NOT CARE.
