hey newton — i forking love it when you do that! how ya doing tonight?
Good, got this toon in my sight right now, will advise :-)
Well, trying to get it in my sight…
it loads and plays for me pc firefox 4.1 vista– try this link
Working there, thanks
its just for those kinda troubles that i always link the video in the title of the video — i have firefox and there is some sorta conflict with playing utubes in firefox when not on utube’s site… i think its a flash conflict or something
It’s working here, Suz…! Aloha… Lurves me some Bugs…! ;-)
Good plan!
aloha tut — thanks dood — how’s paradise tonight? i had thought to run this the sat after that royal wedding but figured we were englanded out and went a different direction.
Hey tut – grrrrr
“englanded out”, love that phrase. And yeah I think we would have been. This is perfect timing.
Hi, Suzanne, how are you tonight? How’s the little one doing?
hey margot — how’s ohio tonight? am glad i waited too :)
hey bp — how was your day? she’s getting cuter every time i see her. my most recent photos of her are from mother’s day and are posted over at my wee little blog. her next hip dysplasia doc apt is later this month and we will know how much the brace is (or is not) helping fix that then…
evening, firepods
*heh* Get a PC already…! 8-P
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
Bright sunshiney morning allowed for some very tall grass to get mowed, thanks to my younger son. I raked and then it started thundering like you hear in old movies…I mean it sounded fake, like someone dropping huge sheets of metal. It’s cool and rainy now.
Thank you so much for that.
Aloha, PPD…!
wow — am glad it held off until after the mowing :) i don’t mind thunder but i don’t like it when its so close i hear the crack and then the boom. cool and rainy sure beats the muggy ya had last night…
My day went okay. Just got back from the fiesta at the catholic grade school just down the block. My former neighbor plays bass in the 60′s-70′s cover band that entertained. They’re good and they rocked the place. Got introduced to some new people. All in all, a pleasant day.
BTW: The lead guitarist’s daughter, about 6 or so, got up on stage for a few numbers to play the tamborine and dance. Ah…dorable.

Are ya going to see little Jujube over your ‘weekend’, Suz…?
what a fun time you musta had! how was the food (or did they not have food)?
not sure tut — gonna talk to jen on the phone tomorrow and see what her plans are
Food was your typical stuff — dogs, burgers, tacos, candy, homemade cakes and cupcakes, etc. I had a dbl cheeseburger and a slice of chocolate cake (which I’m not supposed to do, but fuck it). They had a beer and margarita garden but I’m the sober type so didn’t partake.
updated storm
i love a good classic rock cover band at those kinda events… they can make or break the festive feeling
hiya CT
BBC radio just reported that the IMF’s head Knight was removed from an Air France plane in New York and taken into police custody.
hey capt — how ya doing tonight? i see the nytimes has an article up about it.
The Indiana Supreme Court has ruled that people cannot keep police from entering their homes, even if the entry is “unlawful.”
In a 3-2 decision, the court held there are valid reasons for police officers to enter homes without a warrant and without knocking , including concerns for an officer’s safety or that a suspect may escape or that evidence may be destroyed.
“We believe. . .a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence,” wrote Justice Steven David. “We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest.”
David said a person arrested following an unlawful entry by police can still be released on bail and has other opportunities to protest the entry through the court system.

jeebus robert — that’s horrible. how was your day?
And I just wonder what the same court system that made this ruling is going to do by way of compensating victims of “unlawful” entry.
My guess: nothing. “Too bad. Price you pay for living in a police state.”
Spent my day plotting an alternative history story where RFK was not murdered and was elected President. I’ve concluded for the story that the sucession of Presidents would have been:
Robert F. Kennedy/George Smathers (1968-1976)
Howard Baker/Charles Percy (1976-1980)
Jerry Brown/Jimmy Carter (1980-1984)
Bob Dole/Phil Graham (1984-1992)
Bill Clinton/Al Gore (1992-2000)
George Bush/Dick Cheney (2000-2004)
dayam, we *still* ended up with boosh/cheney
Yes, but one term only….
and no poppy bush presidency for dubya to out-man his dad and ‘get saddam’
And because W had only one term, Obama would have been running for senate, leaving Hillary Clinton to trounce W in the 2004 election….
how did you arrive at the in between ones?
Mostly from taking from the end of RFK’s presidency, reaching conclusions about the state of the nation by that end, linking that to candidates of the times & selecting VP by their ability to secure southern votes….
i was most interested in jerry brown with carter as vp… so carter for the southern and brown for both coasts?
Howard Baker suceeds RFK largely because of RFK’s breaking up the CIA, pulling out of Vietnam and severely reducing funding for the military-industrial complex….
no raygun and less of the mic — i like it dood
Brown defeats Baker due to the Baker adminstration’s inability to do anything about the high cost of gasoline and rein in the oil cartels….Jerry promises to do it.
Good, thanks, And thanks for the link! I’d taken a nap and woke up to the BBC announcement of Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s arrest. When you think about it, the irony seems pretty extreme.
That’s interesting. I’d like to see what a Shirley Chisholm presidency would have been like.
Evening suz. Great pix — Jen exudes joy and satisfaction.
my pleasure — the fact they yanked him outta first class on a plane headed to (iirc) france caught my attention for sure…
Even in an alternative history, Shirley would not suceed in a still very racist nation, but was on Brown’s short list for VP….
hey sunny — how ya doing tonight? jen is handling motherhood wonderfully. i always knew she was going to make a great mom – even when she was just a tyke herself.
Racism would have been the secondary reason. Sexism was the primary reason.
yes, both….
I’m good, thanks.
We’ve got a major greek festival on and I’m full of perfect spanakopita and baklava. The church ladies have put the local greek restaurants to shame.
ohmystars that sounds yummy sunny. bet there was lotsa lamb too… i forking love lamb – esp in greek food
Oh how I miss Greek festival food!
hmmm gyros — i’ve yet to find a good greek place around here — think i would have to go to portland. i bet there is a food cart downtown that does gyros
I’m on Firefox 4 and see the video just fine. What FF version you using, Suzanne?
hey ardiva — how ya doing tonight? i’ve had this happen for quite some time… i’m a vista kinda gal and am using ff 4.01 and all my software is up to date (i’m real obsessive about keeping programs up to date). i’ve also right clicked on any utube and clicked on settings and disabled the hardware acceleration that was causing some ff conflicts.
Hey folks. Is Kelly around?
Be sure to check out the book salon thread today.
Kelly got dismissed as a partisian whiner and I spilt some pixels telling the writers he was wrong.
hey spocko — how ya doing tonight? i haven’t read book salon from today — i was doing other stuff this afternoon and am (head hanging in shame) behind on fdl stuff today…
and to answer your question, he was around earlier at late nite
Indeed. Lamb w/cucumber sauce on pita ummmm.
I may have to hit it again tomorrow between 11 & 12. Should be a window of sorts. The non-greeks will be at their own churches…… or pretending to be.
makes me wish i was there and could go….
Cool. I kinda went off defending him.
so other than salon, how was your day?
very factual dissection (i just read your comment over there)
Freakin Spocko.
is the understatement of the year.
Way.To.Go.
guess its about time for me to head out. thanks for letting me hang out with you tonight.
g’nite all
