Aloha, Suz and LLN pups…! *g*
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? i fucking h-a-t-e fucking friday the fucking thirteenth
Funny, I got up giggling about last night’s episode of Community.
You?
Hey me too! Friday the 13th died a graceful death. Happy may 14th y’all!
been an ‘off’ day for me… bad mojo in the air or something i guess. i’ll be really happy when tomorrow arrives even though its supposed to rain. today had those high milky white clouds that muted the sunshine…
i still have another hour and 50 to go before its over here on the left coast.
if i was still down in the bay area, i wudda called it ‘earthquake weather’
yes, CE, au revoir the 13th
…i fucking h-a-t-e fucking friday the fucking thirteenth…
Amen, Sistah…! ;-)
I actually saw some blue sky today…! Still mighty muggy and dreary tho…!
Goodnight all,
It is late and I will see you in the east coast morning.
g’nite ce
le sigh
the odds are stacked against ya?
le envy — i’ve always wished i could sing like her — i remember her as a kid singing on ed sullivan
bonne nuit, ma chère
nite chris
Oh yes! So much better. Happy landing.
*heh* I still have another 4 and a half hours to sweat it out…! ;-)
knocking on wood for ya tut
I still have all the LPs – just need to transport them to my computer
Je vous on prie. Bonne nuit.
Babs!
my lp’s are in storage still. i think i may have a player in there too but if i do, i don’t think it works.
Mahalos, Suz…! ;-)
Sweet Dreams, CE…!
Oh, now I feel like a fucking serial killer as I move the Cornish Cross MEAT birds around. I’m thinking they’re almost 5 lb. live weight at 5 weeks old. Very healthy and active group. In 2 more weeks they’ll lay their big breasts down and I’ll have to move food and water around just to get them to move.
It sucks to be them.
melancholy
hey openhope… how was your day?
the one
the only
moody even
Yep. I also have the vinyl. Pretty treasured stuff.
En effet, bien dormir ami

When it comes to buying electronics, I haven’t always made the smart move. But in the mid-80′s, I bought a pretty sweet turntable, and it serves me very well even now. Surprisingly, getting parts is no problem at all.
…It sucks to be them…
Ain’t that the truth…! ;-)
Kick Ass Serfing. I know my favorite shovel has a core like the art metal work of Cal Lane. An artist introduced to me on FDL’s Sat. art blog. We moved some dirt today, my shovel and I.
I beat the next 1.96 inches of rain coming our way and got 9 more potato hills[ brings my plant total up to 35].
9 hills of cauliflower, spinach, lettuce, radish, more Walla Walla onions, extended the herb garden to include an Asian section. I bought an expensive Lemon Grass and a moderate priced Shiso for myself for Mother’s Day. Too cold to put them outside, but I love a re-do project!
hot dayam, that’s a garden openhope!!! between the birds and it, you will have a fine winter’s stash.
Awesome job, open…! Ya’ll won’t starve fer sure…! ;-)
I wish I had land to till…! 8-(
I luvs my harman kardon – and I’m lucky to have a spare needle – still need to connect it to my computer, tho.
My father was an audiophile — he had the components in the coat closet in the hall (he was so cute), he used that heat for his hi-fidelity homemade bread (I love the smell of homemade bread in the morning)
awesome!
my chives and lemon thyme survived the winter in the pots on the deck – still waiting to see what else did…
707!
Now THAT is cool!
sadly it was my sister Susie who got the bread gene, not me – I? ;)
Yes we will. doG willing and the creek don’t rise.
I’m looking at all these chickens that need to be dispatched to the freezer in a dignified and cleanly process…nd trying to find the Inner Pioneer.
That said, we just bought store-bought chicken for the first time in 10 months. That includes many dinner parties highlighting home grown chicken.
:(
I have a client who complained that his stereo equipment was in need of replacement, and as his Mac consultant (yeah, right), could I recommend…
I asked what was wrong, and he said he got this stuff from his brother when he left the country to work for Toshiba. And that the equipment was noisy, and hot, and for the love of Pete, it was… tubes.
Yep, his bro had left him a full McIntosh spread, and the dumpkus hadn’t a clue what he had.
And yes, it was hot enough to bake bread on.

Our full moon is electric tonight. I love gardening until it’s so dark you have to leave by flashlight. The air is full of electricity. Full moon and a storm coming.
ya already have a chicken gig under your belt openhope. these game hens will be no worse than that. and wow 10 months!!! wow
its clouded over down here — i love when the moon is so bright that ya don’t need a flashlight. hot summer nights will a full moon hanging in the sky and the smells of summer hang in the air
…I’m looking at all these chickens that need to be dispatched to the freezer in a dignified and cleanly process…
I’m sure ya’ll do a better job than Caribou Barbie…! ;-)
moon phase
time of the season
(I’ve always loved your name)
Hey, there’s some mjor low tides happening next week minus 2.5 to 3.0 in our area. If ever there was a time to clam next week is it!
I think we’re going to go get Horse Neck clams and harvest like we used to, when we were younger and the kids could be manipulated into digging for Horse Neck clams.
sweet… my downstairs neighbors have a shellfish license and i’ll be sure to remind them :)
I am the person Caribou Barbie would hire to prepare her Home Grown chicken.
Did a few food sculptures for Edith Kennedy’s soirees back in the catering to the Aspen crowd, as an employee of a catering company.
Edith was notorious for stiffing her caterers. I’m thinking Mrs. Palin follows in her footsteps of arrogance.
Hi Suz, pups
So hot and foggy/muggy here, I had to make a late night run to get fans. Really helps a bunch.
hey margot — ugh — hot muggy is horrible
g’night everybody
g’nite ellie
:-)
good night Miss Elliott
Hi Margot, my mind cannot fathom Hot, Muggy. It almost sounds exotic after a solid month of Cold, Rain with Squalls.
margot — how long is your hot and muggy supposed to last?
*heh* I’m sure she is too…!
Btw, isn’t the operative word these days ‘free-range’ not, ‘home-grown’…? ;-)
Thank you, Elliot. I have your song blasting.
Sweet dreams.
Hi openhope, (for some reason my reply button is on the fritz)
I sure didn’t grow up in this kind of weather…mountains of NM is what I was used to. Dry as a bone except for winter snow and rain in July, basically.
But we grow some nice tomatoes here.
Here people talk about growing mangoes. That really confused me until I learned it’s a local expression for bell peppers.
Oh I don’t know…It’s Ohio, it’s going into summer, so if there is any dry air I will be really surprised. I will get used to it, always do.
Aloha, Margot…! There’s a mighty big difference between a mango and a bell pepper, if ya ask me…! ;-)
I don’t have to define them. I have people waving money at me for rights to a chicken. I’m not in this as a job. It’s just that you have to order 25 minimum,so some go to pay for the feed, you can’t really recoup the labor. Our meat is paid for with each batch of chickens. Our labor isn’t.
I am one arrogant fucking chicken raiser, though. It’s a small list, those who get to buy.
if you are using firefox, try tools up in your tool bar and clear recent history — that will clear your cache and should restore your reply button
What do you shell out for the hybrid poulets…?
Openhope,
Good for you. People really want good, safely grown meat and they will pay for it.
Oh it was NoScript! sheesh, should have thought of that.
Hellooooo, Margot
When they look like marshmallow peeps, $2.30. They eat like little peep.
Now, I’m pouring food into the little fucking monsters and every day they’re gaining weight. Normally there’s a 5% die-off rate but every bird is healthy so we’ve got 32.
And 11 new laying hens/hopefully-not-roosters.
And 3 old birds left. They can fly out of the coop and roam free. We’re training ourselves not to run out when they scream a distress call. Letting nature take her course in a land of eagles, hawks and owls. Coyotes, also.
woohoo — you are buttoned again!
I hate it when I do that…
Suzanne! Margot, CTuttle, openhope, newt… Happy Friday the 13th.
/~~~
So it looks like you’re planning on some hatching on your own with the 11 layers…! Good move since you can also utilize the excess eggs, almost a dozen a day, even…! ;-)
hey lurk — only 10 more minutes to go before the west coast tells friday the 13th to fork off and welcomes sat the 14th!
evening, Suzzz …. firegods
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
Aloha, Lurk…! Always a pleasure to see ya…! ;-)
Well, since you inquired:
Davis, CA at the Aggie Theatre, 16 March, 2008

pretty good, thanks — another amazing day with Dad
hahahahahaha i’ve got to add that one to my repertoire
Jumping bald headed Jesus. I was born on friday the 13th. I consider it a day of awe.
I was reading the comments since I came in late.
I don’t hate Friday the 13th. Sometimes it’s good to be an atheist and not care that the fucking remaining Knights Of The Templar got annihilated along with their families on Friday the 13th. Forever turning it into a myth the Church propagates….. Shit happens.
We choose our superstitions. But, I like mine because they are the framework of a small, important part of my life.
If you’re having a toast before dinner and everyone agrees to send the Clink around the table, all is good. But, if random people start clinking, everyone has to clink everyone. Or dinner will not be served. :]
Hi Newton!
Love that song.
Friday on my mind
And you, CTuttle.
And a magnificent full moon Friday the 13th to you, Lurk.
peace, laughter, strength
hey homeroid — is today your hippo birdies?
Hey….you know who else likes homegrown eggs?
Pysanky artists. The highly decorative Ukrainian egg art. Factory grown eggs are very thin-shelled.
The absolutely astounding Ray Charles
yay — its the 14th!!!
*sets chocolate bar down, thinking instead of a broiled bird*
peace, laughter, strength it is, thank you

Time to call it a day. Couch, heating pad, TV. *g*
Goodnight all, thank you for a fun evening.
Sweet dreams.
From WI’s east coast, good Saturday morning pups.
happy lucky 100 openhope!!! g’nite
That is wonderful. THanks Lurk, and goodnight everyone.
*heh* Lucky you…! I still have another three to go…! ;-)
hey nonq — how ya doing tonight?
I have the tool [taganting?] for making egg patterns. It was fun when the kids were little.
I like working in concrete and dirt. I just eat eggs.
g’nite margot
Sweet dreams, open…! Congrats too…! ;-)
Oh, well, bless my stars!!
I surely will buy a lottery ticket that incorporates the numbers 5 13 11 100 102, in some form. :
goodnight
nite margot
Fine thanks, a real long week but the first wild asparagus and a couple of morels have emerged and showed themselves today.
Just stopped by on my way to bed, I realize the hour. Started some of the tunes for my breakfast entertainment. Niter’s
g’nite nonq
bout time for me to head out myself. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight
g’nite all
Pleasant dreams to all the sleepyheads…! Suz, are ya gonna get your Jujube fix over your ‘weekend’…? ;-)
nite suz
Oops, just missed you too…! Aloha, M’dear…!
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Blow this morning. Mr. Nocera is off today. Ms. Collins has been reading again. In “Presidential Primary Book Club” she reconvenes the book club to have a look at the works of a former Republican speaker of the House. I don’t envy her the task. Mr. Blow, in “H.I.V. SOS,” says it’s time to expand the nation’s AIDS drug assistance programs. In the current age of pants-crapping over the deficit? Not bloody likely…
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got banana pancakes. I’ve got time for one more cup of tea before it’s really light enough to go out and get cracking in the garden. I’ve got 10 gerbera daisies to get planted, and a bunch of little portulacas for the front. Have a great day.
Good morning all.
Hi Marion,
Gonna try to get some more wood under the tarp in the woodbin before the rain starts. Last night’s forecast was that it was supposed to start overnight, but this morning I see it’s been postponed until this afternoon.
I had all these woodbins made, but it snowed too early to get next year’s wood in them. I’ve been looking at the damned woodpile all winter long & am determined to get it put away.
