Shouldn’t, in a constitutional democracy, dick be making his argument before a jury ?
1 Torture is illegal under the constitution.
2 dick claims he waterboarded, an illegal act, for our good.
3 Only a jury can determine is waterboarding is allowed under the constitution.
Should he be found guilty obama can pardon his patriotic lawbreaking.
That is what the constitution requires.
Good morning pups and thanks for the post, BT.
Dick Cheney truly is a sub-human piece of shit.
And why would anyone want to see/hear him? Have not a clue. But I think maybe he is being kept alive so that we can continue to see how evil he is. A national disgrace.
I can’t even bring myself to watch Obama’s kabuki about the OBL raid. Sure, I’m happy he is gone, but the constantly changing narrative about the actual raid, the secrecy and lies all show what a sham our democracy has become. Kinda makes me sick.
Good morning all.
Syrian human rights attorneys, now in hiding, up on democracynow.
I have long believed he should be in prison for the treasonous rape of our treasury that is his privatization program of military logistics and construction. Never mind the fact that he left as Sec Def after implementation to become the head of the primary beneficiary of his policies and became very rich as a result. Yet another reason for him to be in prison.
The only miscalculation that the Syrian demonstrators made, was that Syria doesn’t have all that much oil.
Then again Satin might not like some competition in his kingdom.
People, on hold to leave this big blue ball, could have destination arguments of the Powers that be holding up their departure.
Az is caught between a rock and a stupid place. It costs money to build a fence, but to get money they have to raise taxes. And if they don’t build a fence, nobody in Az can sleep at night in spite of all the guns they have.
I think we should let them build a wall around their entire state. With a moat. And mine fields. Then we capture their walls, point the searchlights and guns to the inside, and declare it a giant prison for wingnuts.
Boxturtle (Show me a 30′ fence, I’ll show you a 35′ ladder)
An emotional and moral cripple, as well as intellectual, I guess. He didn’t do so well in that school thing, either…..So, W chose a comrade.

Good morning, pups.
And why do we care what Dick Cheney has to say? Oh, wait, it’s Fox…nevermind.
I read a good case somewhere for booting Arizona out of the US and dividing the state among its neighbors.
BC Cheney is still the power behind the throne.
1) It’s not illegal if the president orders it and congress chooses not to impeach.
2)”It should come as no suprise that I do not consider Dick Cheney a reliable source of information” – H. Clinton.
3) Unless the victim is a scary brown moslem, in which case the court of public opinion can handle it.
Obama pardon? Not until he’s leaving politics will he take a stand that might annoy the GOPers.
Boxturtle (at least you didn’t use “constitution” and “Obama” in the same sentence)
Mornin’, BT, pups
Thanks to Marion from Savannah for posting Krugman so I don’t have to go to the NYT site.
Krugman’s right. For the next 18 months we need to be hammering on those who pushed the economy to the brink and now want the rest of us to pay for their greed and piss poor judgement. Got a Representative or Senator who went along with these assholes? Get in their face at town halls, write nasty but polite letters to them, write crushing letters to the editor of your local rag.
Dick Cheney. The evil spawn of syphilitic trolls, left to simmer for 18 years in a pile of offal, then stuffed into the skin of a slain baby raper and let loose on the world.
the constantly changing narrative about the actual raid, the secrecy and lies all show what a sham our democracy has become
I don’t disagree much with this, although I think the changing narrative would be understandable in an activity like this raid.
What disturbs me more is the rational voices (Glenzilla comes to mind, but I’ve read others) who say this targeted assassination of ObL is a crime under international law, and that he should have been captured (which seems like it could have been done) and tried and if convicted, executed.
Gee, I did not know you thought so highly of Dick!! /s G’Morning….
Maybe that’s why Dan Senor, bush/ cheney lapdog, was on MSNBC again this morning spewing the same shit Cheney pimped on Fox.
Hey, SD, tell us what you really think!
It’s difficult to separate the emotional from the rational thought process on OBL’s assassination.
Divide the state amongst its residents. Then each one can have his own fence, his own laws within his fence and his own guns. And they can tax themselves to build their own walls. And the rest of us can simply stay away and everyone will be happy.
Boxturtle (I kinda feel sorry for AZ’s citizens. I bet they really do have trouble sleeping at night)
Isn’t that like saying that murder is not illegal unless the alleged murderer is indicted?
So Dick Cheney is a haggis?
Boxturtle (Never seen a recipe with that particular substitution for sheeps stomach, though)
Dya think. They’re the ones still in control, so why shouldn’t they get all the press.
I remarked sometime last week that the neocons/neolibs had won the cold war. Meaning not that they were responsible for the collapse of the USSR, but rather that theirs were the ‘values’ that the U.S. had assumed after the collapse of the USSR.
I have been pondering, not a lot, if Dick’s work of fiction ever came out; I think not, however. He may be waiting for his Ghost writer!! Hee-hee.;)
It’s EXACTLY like that. I was taught differently when I was growing up, but clearly my parents were confused.
Boxturtle (Certain politicians should realize they do NOT get a lawyer at their Final Judgement)
democracynow: Egyptian spring now sounds like a military coup. Talking about military tribunals for citizens who demonstrated.
Why does our world love the military so much? We’ll be sorrrrry.
My top hypothesis would be bc humans are alpha male led evolutionarily.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Afghanistan: 1,572
US KIA Irak: 4,452
Iraki, Afghan and Pakistani casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M
US MBS 2011: 15,872 and counting
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things
No war but class war
Never. Give. Up.
Seems contradictory for survival, but what do I know?
Such a bad mood this am; afternoon dental appt. I am not
thrilled to attend. Later, I guess.
I’ve often wondered about that myself and even asked on one book salon.
So much of evolution seems circular. Survival of the fittest… How do we know their the fittest. BC they survived.
And in the most important item of the day
And finally: Golf Digest magazine is hoping to capitalize on two national leaders’ love of the sport by organizing a golf match between President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). The publication has even already made about 10,000 Obama-Boehner “Let’s Play Golf!” buttons. Boehner told “60 Minutes” last year that he has talked “several times” with the president about playing golf, “It just hasn’t happened yet.”
Last entry here.
Today is the 90th birthday of Father Dan Berrigan.
Happy Birthday, Father, and thank you for all you’ve done through the years in the cause of peace.
I heard that on dn.
We have a lot to thank him for.
I my district we have ” town halls meetings open to the public” by phone invitation only, nice huh ?
Let’s face it, SEAL Team Six was sent in with orders to kill Osama Bin Laden. It is just that simple. They tried to skirt around it saying he resisted and all that, but after seeing the outpouring of support on the streets in the immediate aftermath of the event, there was little reason to hide the reality of the situation.
If they had captured him, imagine the circus it would have created. Torture him? Hang him? Does he get a civilian trial? All of that would have played out for months or years and God forbid would have affected Obama’s ability to get re-elected. A SEAL team member’s double-tap was an easier route out.
It is easier just to kill him and let the world cheer about his demise. Forget the rule of law, forget justice. It is just “Ha ha! We killed you! You guys lose!”
On the other hand, what does “justice” get you? Three years in jail for the Lockerbie bombing and then out on “humanitarian” excuse that he’ll be dead in 3 months. I really don’t call that justice.
Thank you for making my point.
And wirerat, thank you for showing up 2 hours after everybody moved on to make your statement.
