There’s a summary of Barton in a quote from Derek Davis of Baylor University in Waco, TX, paragraph #11. Baylor is not known as a bastion of libertinism.

I’d bet your state constitution contains the word “God,” even though the US Constitution does not.

Soooooooo, the Regressives want a bible-thumping historian to provide them with a history they’re comfortable with.

Lemme see now, that would have St Ronnie of RayGuns riding a dinosaur with Eve on his lap until he spotted Nancy. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Pretty much. There’s always more planting to do. I’m re-seeding my lawn.
Note from the job hunt front: I’m now going to be assisting the Volunteer Coordinator in Administration two days a week. So, two days in the warehouse and two days upstairs. It’s still a volunteer gig, but the gal who was doing it before left because she got a paying one. Ah, my master plan is moving forward.

This is a private community with rules and regs, which I hate and if we ever get to move, I’ll never do this again. However, it’s a very small lawn, so that’s good. I do have native stuff growing on the side yard. Lots of cactus and succulents along with the vegies.

Looks like the Republicans might be backing off destroying Medicare.

Senior Republicans conceded Wednesday that a deal is unlikely on a contentious plan to overhaul Medicare and offered to open budget talks with the White House by focusing on areas where both parties can agree on. … Republicans recognize they may need to look elsewhere to achieve consensus after President Obama “excoriated us” for a proposal to privatize Medicare.

I live in a “villa” (sometimes called patio homes) community with a homeowners’ association, and ours isn’t too onerous. You can do pretty much what you want, landscape-wise. A bit more restrictive about additions to the exterior, but not awful, and people have done quite a bit of interesting stuff.

And our association fee covers lawn care, snow removal, trimming, mulching, and exterior stain every 5 years. Not a bad deal.

I bought 5 flats of Impatiens yesterday, but it’s gonna be too cold to plant for a couple of weeks yet.

I kind of ignore my front yard, for the most part. My side yard can be seen from the sliding glass door in the living room and I’ve got Carolina jasmine and grape vines growing all over the wrought iron fence and a bunch of different stuff growing on the slope. I picked up three one-gallon California Poppy plants on sale for one dollar a piece yesterday. I love a bargain.

Good news I hope. Good morning pups.

One and a half days of spring weather, here so far. A bit of work is keeping me indoors, though. Debating whether to attempt calling in to the WPR talk radio, topic this hour, “what is annoying to you?”

The gist of the current show is rude people, noises, etc., but I am annoyed that I couldn’t get through on the previous show to mention that anything the Heritage Foundation guest (Lisa Curtis) speaking about why we need to stay in Afganistan and Pakistan had to say, had mostly to do with her keeping her job (senior fellow Asian Studies) of schilling for the MIC by fomenting fear about those scary brown people over there.
