Five For Fighting — 100 Years.
What’s on your mind?
newton! how was your day today?
I love this song. I do.
Hi Suz! Can’t stay for long; need to try and grab a few zzzz’s and get up in about 4 hrs to watch the royal wedding.
Speaking of which, I make no apologies to anyone for wanting to watch it. I’ve seen some commentary the last couple days around here, and I think it’s sad that people can’t be happy for two young people who are truly in love.
How are you doing tonight Suz?
hey ce — tis a good one for sure. how was your day? i believe you wanted more pictures
hey ll — i’m gonna try to stay up and watch it. i wanna see what her dress is… i love all the pomp and circumstance (don’t tell anyone ‘k?)
Your secret is safe with me! ;-)
thanks (whispering) when i was a little girl, i wanted to be a commoner who married a prince (end whispering)
Hiya newt, LL, Christine !
Lovely, thanks. Yours?
Me too! Huzzzah!
petro! how the heck ya been dood?
cold. wet. but not so windy :) weather dood is still saying sunshine and warming up this weekend…
(whispering back) oooh I know exactly what you mean. It’s all just too romantic, sigh…(end whispering)
Yay Chris! I’m glad :-)
Aaaanyway….hi newt and Petro!
Me too. But I have belch now. Heh!
Wow and wow. A brace? And they can fix this stuff? Amazing! Still, it must have been a total freakout.
she’s arriving at the abbey in a car and leaving with her prince in a horse drawn carriage
hey kelly — belch is a prince among princes dood — how was your day?
Hey! I haven’t seen you for forever. What’s up Petro?
we’ve known about the possibility since 2 days after they were discharged from the hospital. very very observant pediatrician. the specialist confirmed this week and put her in the brace — she’s so young that they have high expectations of not needing a body cast nor surgery (those are for those who don’t respond to treatment)
swoon! lol ;-)
Westminster Abbey itself is so romantic too, imo. Have only visited it once, and I could have stayed there for hours and hours just soaking it all in.
i’ve only visited it vicariously through you :) visiting the uk is on my bucket list
I’m impressed. I LOVE these docs who can make miracles happen. I had two, and that is why MsCE walks without a wheelchair…
fuck… blazers lost to the mavs 103-96
Fine now, but Mother Nature gave Toronto quite the Blowjob all day long … *g*
Hey Newt, what did you think if the Niners first pick? My reaction was “who?”
awesome, awesome! And pretty expensive, too!
because it was caught so early — while her hip socket is still cartilage and hasn’t converted to bone — tis a quicker fix. she could be in the brace for up to 3 months but the doc is going to check her in a month to see how its diong
Great thanks, how’s things in your fair City ?
Oh I hope you get the chance to go sometime; you’ll absolutely love it.
hey that guy — how was your day?
I am going to bed shortly so I can wake up and watch it. I like not living in a country headed by royalty, but I like to watch all the ceremonies. It’s snobbish to down English traditions and then be all respectful of some tribal bridal dance; I have no patience for it.
Petro, was that related to the storms that came up from the south? It was a scary night and early morning…
hey margot — how was your day today?
*cough* … why waste time in that damp, cold structure when you can waste time down the street in a damp, cold structure that serves Draughts … *g*
Not as good as yesterday. I played that arrangement of Tulsa Time (in a different key) last night and it went over real well. Didn’t have Vince Gill but it was still pretty cool.
Yeah That Guy, and Aldon Smith had the same reaction: Forty-what?
Well….I did that afterwards! *g*
Yep, we even had a tornado warning on the outskirts of Toronto, some major rain yesterday and then the winds all day today.
petro — i’ve been getting one of them there blow jobs since sun nite — the winds finally died down from blowing steady in the 20 and 30′s to barely 10 now.
*Clink* … attagirl !
Hi Margot, we’ll have virtual coffee together while watching ;-)
I am leaving Cleveland for a weekend in Columbus (a city that I don’t know well) so my friend and I can watch the Royal wedding and visit decorative arts places. MrCE in Phila. MsCE at Winterthur for conferences.
very good, and yours? I’ve started to think about planting in the mud. That’s all we got.
sweet — how’s the oranges?
Henry Purcell’s body is buried under the organ.
I’m still pissed at the Royals that I wasn’t invited.
mud is all i got too… that and grass that severely needs a haircut but its too forking wet to mow
My bff is up in Ontario right now visiting her dad, over in Leamington. Wonder how they fared?
hey et — how was your day? nice shout out to ya from sully!!!
so what does one drink for a royal wedding? champagne just seems too obvious…
When I’m there in June, I’ll leave a note that you are pissed off.
Have fun! I don’t know it well either, but I like visiting there.
over 5″ of rain in pdx so far this month — now the 3rd wettest april since they have been keeping records in pdx — and there is more rain in the forecast tomorrow
Too romantic for words. And brings back such bitter sweet memories.
I’m up for the night. Currently rummaging around for a suitable chapeau for the event;-)
Nigella Lawson says strawberry whirl and champagne.
You and me both!
I was fascinated about all of the personages buried in the Abbey. Geoffrey Chaucer, for one. His tomb looks so tiny. And I didn’t realize before I visited that Elizabeth I and her sister Mary are in the same tomb. They must be hatin’ their eternity together!
leave one for me too please
hey sunny — i think a tiara is appropriate…. how was your day?
Gosh I should have thought of a chapeau. I guess a ball cap just wouldn’t do ;-)
i was thinking perhaps of a kir royale
Gave my last final this evening to my favorite class. Those kids I will really miss – but they’ll be around. Then went to the end of Shannyn Moore’s weekly TV program taping and had my first conversation in about 15 years with John Havelock, the guy who may be the best historian of the Alaska oil industry.
Spring is really finally here. No tornadoes.
a ball cap beats my navy blue knit watch cap….
me too please Chris! And if you get a chance, try to pop in at the Cathedral of Westminster nearby; I went in there one evening just to sit and soak up atmosphere, and listened to a choir rehearsal.
Aloha, Suz and LLN pups…! ;-)
Goodness, the pups are certainly chatty tonite…!
Btw, I absolutely refuse to get up with the Better Half, at 3 AM, to watch a damn wedding…! Nope, not going to do it…!
They’re BIG! Nice and healthy, sweet at times, terrorists at times.
Stick it under the organ. Henry might like it.
Can you embroider something royal on it, quick-like?
As much as I want to stay — I have to leave now. I’m going to work until 1:00, then leaving for a weekend with my co-worker for a Royal Wedding/antique shopping weekend.
Night my FDL pals!
hey wmd — how was your day? dang near friday yanno
Better than drought.
yay for no tornadoes! are you done for the summer or are you teaching?
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
Something that accurately reflects the sparkling regency and redeeming social value of the event: bong water with a twist, of course.
how old are they now?
G’night Chris, have fun!
alas, no — all my stitchery stuff is in the pod
todo es buena
i’ll take wet any time et — don’t bother me when i stay at home and sit by the fire, watching it fall on the bay… don’t bother me at all :)
10 months next week.
hahahaha i wonder what the appropriate strain is for a royal wedding… train wreck just sounds too … i dunno… harsh?
I love a rainy day too Suz, so peaceful.
I teach one summer course – music appreciation – at Eagle River CC, starting the last week of June. Next year, I may be teaching more theory, less cultural history.
Busy through the 14th with a Russian Pops Concert
To those eschewing the wedding, I am with you. I’m sleeping. Screw that crap.
got any new pics to share?
i love falling asleep to the sound of rainfall
Champagne is the right strain.
Sweet! Commie Shannyn Moore Narrator!
*best mr. burns voice* Excellent!
that’s a great poster dood
Although possibly Matanuska Thunder Fuck would be appropriate too.
*heh* I share your enthusiasm, newt…! You should’ve seen the gleem in the better half’s eyes when MSNBC switched over to all that wedding porn…! *gah*
I’ll try to get some tomorrow. I should be shooting more than I am.
bring on the clowns
Oh me too. Right now the sound of rain on the windows has to suffice; once I move out of this 1st floor condo someday, I’m going to have a roof where I can hear the rain.
hahahahaha white queen
happy lucky 100 wmd!!! (and thanks for saving me from it for the *gasp* 3rd night in a row)
sweet — can’t wait to see how big those kittahs have gotten
hey plove — how was your day?
i was totally surprised that i can’t hear rain on this metal roof — there is a buncha insulation (and a lotta stuff stored) in the attic… i’m a hear it beat on the windows now — i used to hear it on the roof at the cabin and it would get so loud that i couldn’t hear the phone ring
Hey…. here it’s going to be an italian white. Certainly not because it’s suitable, but it’s chilled and available.
Suz, those pix of the bebe are wonderful. So good they caught the hip issue.
I am happy for the happy couple.
I am thrilled that the Brits are thrilled.
But god-dammit there’s Lindsay Lohan and the other native-variety brats to be looked after, so ‘Mer’kans need to focus on them.
i know i’m biased but dayam, she’s so flipping cute! i love that pic up top of her propped up in the boppy.
Leave Britney aloooooooooooooooooone!
oh lardy don’t mention her — every time i see her name, i think back to that darkblack take on her birthing statute…
*heading for the quad strength brain bleach*
As Brat-Packs™ go, hers was pretty hideous.
Indeed. Tawdry, even.
My best yet. Love the reds in it.
Good morning from the big pond, Suzanne,
About time I had a night with a bit of trouble sleeping. Not enough activity (in theme with evening) during the day to get a physical workout, about 60 hours of very steady rain around here. Not complaining, there are a few stars peeking through in the last hour. Sun and 60 degrees predicted later this morning. Really nice family pics there.
Lest we forget, we’ve also got Paris Hilton issues to address.
hey nonq — how was your day today? thanks — i am lucky to have a nice family.
She has her first rehearsal with the ensemble next Tuesday. You need to be a musician to narrate Peter & the Wolf. She studied cello and piano when she was a kid, won some contests here.
Well, at least ya don’t have to deal with the pleas for the ‘renewal of one’s vows’ too…! ;-)
*headed back for more brain bleach*
I follow her on Twitter and am aware of her cello love. She really does love music. You can tell.
Oh lord I need to lie down…but I’m so afraid I won’t wake up in time for the shindig…better try to anyway. Thanks Suz and g’night all!
And Nicole Richey, and Kim Karhoosian, and Uncle Tanoose, and…whoa, slipped a few decades. Mind, come back!
OK, blogwhore alert; read this.
Because for one thing, as far as I can tell a resource for the 112th US House of Reps like this hasn’t existed until a few minutes ago. :)~
Yep. We’re going to do Peter & the Wolf straight, as Prokofiev wrote the script. I’m hoping the local Russian-Alaskan community will show up, as our little orchestra could use the money of a full house.
Just no white widow
i didn’t wanna put a hex on it… is why i discounted train wreck earlier….
that’s a great forking resource dood… wow
I am fine and thanks for asking. I trust you are well. Today was laundry, waltzing with kirby (the vacuum cleaner) and sorting through old paperwork that can be tossed. Got a batch of seeds in the ground on Monday before the rain. I’m experimenting with growing some small grains. Some for ground cover/weed suppression, some cereal grains, wheat and rye. The weekend is going to be spent helping some folks much older than me to get their small veggie gardens in shape for planting.
i’m doing well — tis my off weekend (not visiting jen since she’s got company — her dad is up) so i’m hoping to catch the downstairs neighbor and ask if i can borrow their vacuum — mine’s in the pod and bailey cat has been doing some serious shedding. i’m tired of trying to get it out of the rugs with a broom.
I can’t help it – this is my counterpoint to the stupid wedding…
Margot… Been so long w/out a tv, I just today learned who Kim K is… and that Rachael Ray has a talk show. Seems I’ve missed nothing.
evening, Suzzzz — firegods
i’ve got friends
hey ppd — how was your day today?
Thank you ma’am!
The resource itself is partisan-free/political spectrum-free. Anyone of any political stripe can use it to contact their House Rep and also see that Rep’s donors. In one list. And influence their Rep as they will.
good, thanks – how’s everything up north tonight?
thank you! wowza dood
good night… time for me to sleep
wet, cold, but not windy :) am enjoying the silence of no wind blowing. am still hoping for sunshine this weekend
Big Sur Marathon is this Sunday, Suzzz
what are the odds it will rain?
you truly have missed nothing.
I have a very short bristle cat brush that pulls most if the hair out of the cat blanket which protects the one chair that Mcat claimed. It gets most if the hair off the blanket with a few quick strokes, reducing the frequency of needing to through it in the washing machine.
she usually hangs out on the arm of the sofa (leather with a light throw as a cat blanket) or on the pad/bed next to the stove. both i can easily clean but the area rugs are in serious need of a good vacuuming.
Weather at 11 says excellent conditions, and CalTrans reopened Hwy 1 last Friday.
Nice Kelly, thanks for posting it. I had some of that info for my local WI suspects but have been focusing on the re-election work in the recall process with supporting a local Democratic Senator who “ran away from his duties,” according to the Republican spin, having lived a few weeks in Illinois last winter.
It’s always nice to be able to just stop by Suz, thanks for being here. Tea is gone and I’m going to drop my head back on the pillow. The alarm will be calling in about 5 hours. I want to take advantage a day without rain that’s predicted. Niters.
Let me know on that thread if your district’s rep was incorrect or anything.
Bleak it is. Before my old tv blew, I was addicted to c-span. This go-round I’m trying a big ass antenna, no cable.
Lots of channels, but other than some excellent PBS (3), nada. It’s a great pleasure not to contribute to Time Warner.
i only get one pbs station on my basic cable provided with my rent. if i was in an area where i could use rabbit ears, i would be able to pick up all 4 (iirc) channels opb has
tis about time for me to turn back into a pumpkin folks. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
This sucks ass. I can’t sleep because of a toothache, nor can I get treatment for it.
Nice resource though Kelly! Thanks and recommended.
(((margaret))) have ya soaked that side of your mouth in warm very salty water? that always helped me with a toothache… i hope it feels better soon hon
*poofing for realsies*
Suz, the PBS coverage has commenced! Beautiful sunny day in London :-)
I can’t pick up one of the pbs channels, but I’m thrilled their kid’s channel has effectively freed up the others for adult stuff 24/7.
Small antennas did me little good, but I was astonished how much my big one got me for less than one month’s cable. Since you’re dealing with a bunch of mountains, your situation must be very different. Weather does affect my reception, but the trade-off is ok with me.
Night Suz. I took an Aleve. Waiting for it to kick in.
Oh (((margot)))I’m sorry… Wish you could share a bit of the white italian plonk – such as it is.
They are opening the Great North Door of Westminster Abbey in a couple of minutes — and now it’s raining. Just heard someone say that rain on the wedding was “good luck.” Good attitude abounds ;-)
Thanks but I’m not Margot though there is one of those around here. I’m Margaret and am usually around during the other part of the day. :)
Oh Margaret. I’m so sorry…
I really did think your note was from Margot. Clearly I’m not at my best at 4am. I often read and admire your posts, albeit generally after the fact.
Hope the tooth is calming.
