Glenn Reynolds’ dipshitty ruminations on the birther idiocy provide a window into the mind of an absolute putz. Mr. B. Texan has mentioned this already but further spelunking into this cavern o’crap is instructive because it uncovers why he’s such a shithead.

The White House may think it’s sprung a trap, but I think they waited too long. By now — as the polls from earlier this week showing how many independents thought Obama wasn’t born here, and which probably prompted the release decision, indicate — the damage is done. Even if people change their minds on the issue, for many the residual suspicion will remain: The thought that regardless of where he was born, there’s something shady about him.

Plus, from the comments: “Media: admit it, Trump forced the issue. Now, don’t let the WH distract you w/the birth crt from what Bernanke says today. Stay focused.” It’s more about the gas prices and the milk. Media spin won’t change those.

This is really kinda slimy. “The nutty racist smear is untrue, sure, but the smear is still curiously effective, and it is all the fault of the victim of the smear, because he sure is acting shady about how he responded to getting smeared by using Media Spin.”

What a dick! And then he won’t even say firmly that the long form isn’t a forgery: “Plus, from the comments: ‘They’re not layers. Illustrator is simply able to interpret PDF image data and *present it to you* as layers.’  That would make sense, but I don’t know anything about Illustrator.” Gosh, interesting! I’m told it’s all bullshit, but the jury’s still out! Douche.

Two plus two may just be five, who knows!

Also, who knows if that “climate change” stuff is true, or if Saddam wasn’t really in cahoots with bin Laden, or if the GOP doesn’t  truly want to gut Medicare and Social Security. Or, like, if Bradley Manning isn’t entitled to be considered innocent before being proved guilty….

I could stand living in a carnival nation if it were at least fun.
