Progressives would have been FAR better off electing Republican Gary Johnson in 2008 than “Clarence Thomas” Obama. Johnson certainly would NOT have fought to enact Dole’s HCR and he certainly wouldn’t have thrown more than $2.1 TRILLION free money at the very Banks who buried us.

Why? Because Republicans in Congress knew if they challenged him they’d be hung out to dry. The ONLY Democrats Obama made pay for anything were an Atty. General who dared Primary an Obama snileling Senator who was destined to lose & Jane who dared to try to hold his gofors accountable for the tripe he called HCR. At the same time he was praising & catering to every Republican acting Democrat. Truth is, Obama may preach like a Democrat but his record reflects he’s the farthest thing from it. Why not bash him, all the time, doesn’t he deserve it? OBAMA MUST BE PRIMARIED.

1. WHO, specifically, are you putting forward as a candidate to primary Obama? I’d really love to know and not saying it facetiously.

2. WHAT steps have YOU taken specifically (details, please) to set in motion an effort to primary Obama? I would also like to know this.

IF you have no answer to either question, then you might want to think really hard about that and start doing something concrete in that regard, rather than coming here essentially to “yell” at those who are posting regularly at FDL and have stated over & over & over & over that they are not voting for Obama again.

There are some others here at FDL who posted blogs on MyFDL who have discussed a “Dump Obama” campaign. My suggestion is that your considerable angry energy might be better spent in discussion with some of those folks *coming up with concrete steps on how you actually PLAN to primary Obama*. Too many people are getting onto the tactic of using the GOP to try to scare people into sticking with GOP-lite. It didn’t work in the mid-terms for shit, and it’s going to work even worse, in 2012.

My take is that with Obama’s nearly complete capitulation to the republicans, all we have left is to be spoilers and use him to illustrate what happens when someone runs as a progressive supposedly committed to real change, and then governs as a country-club, status-quo sucking republican.

It’s horribly frustrating, but the alternative, of rewarding Obama with a chance at four more years of this sellout is, almost literally, nauseating. I’m incapable of it, and I don’t care if the repubs dig up Ronald Reagan, implant servo-mechanisms in his carcass, and run him in 2012.
