Suze! Pups!
hey ndfg — how ya doing tonight?
LOL, tease for two or two million, I just gotta click and watch this link cause Suz ALWAYS has the best links…. which means NO MORE chance at zed tonight.
Dammit.
Aloha, Suz and LLN pups…! *g*
SuzToon!
hey ofguy — how ya doing tonight?
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
hey newton — how was your day?
Hello LLNers. Suz, the picture of Jen on your blog is really great. Time is flying now!
hey bg — glad ya liked it — how was your day today?
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Bass player, who has screwed me with my pants on before, quit the band.
My fault for trusting an asshole.
Sorry, Suz, I can’t give ya the promised review of ‘Hop’… The better half was 5 individuals too late…! 8-(
Btw, Sucker Punch sux totally, even the CGI, and, no plot whatsoever…!
fuck — that really sucks that guy. dayam dood
well hells bells tut. that blows dood. i’ve been hearing good things about hop — never even heard of sucker punch
Great, busy, warm.
tuckered out from priming hallway and entryway. It was nice enough outside that i could have the windows open and dispel some paint fumes. A fresh coat of paint is gonna do wonders for my little MidCentury Modern.
warm..i think i remember warm weather…. another storm headed for us with rain in the forecast for sun and mon and dropping snow levels. again.
Btw, Pups… Go figure that my ‘call’ greeting me as an official FDL ‘member’ went to voice mail, kidding…! ;-)
what color are ya going to paint it?
Sucker Punch had a plot … it was everytime the music started playing, the actors were suddenly in some sort of a video game … sometimes a war game, sometimes a D&D crapfest. There was this old guy ringmaster character who would show up for no reason and spout hackneyed crap like “Don’t let your mouth write checks your ass can’t cash”. And after about 10 minutes of each action sequence you were transported back into the insane asylum/whorehouse for more whining and horrible acting from nasty pencil moustache guy, and Natasha from Bullwinkle …
Nah, come to think of it, you were right. There was no plot. I found myself moderately entertained. I probably would have been more so if the admitted hot young women in the film had taken off more clothes once or twice. But then they wanted to keep it PG-13 …
hey markinaustin — how ya doing tonight?
We are in fire season, just starting it. LM is on high alert, thinks she will have to evacuate. I try to ignore her anxiety, but she is ON it.
Good, UConn won, so I still have a team in my severely busted bracket. I picked them to win the whole thing and it looks extremely possible from here.
oh dear — its been so soggy here that i’ve not even given a thought to fire season. is her high anxiety due to her meds?
i heard some librarian in jefferson, oregon won $5K in the yahoo brackets — she picked the final 4
My son totally agrees with ya, he even posits that every line of it was ‘ripped off’ from another movie…! ;-)
Anxiety is something of a natural state for LM, even when she had her mind. Now it is just part of the dementia. We had a party for her a couple of weeks ago, and she made herself sick worrying about it. Literally was puking as I was trying to help her dress. She ended up having fun, but she worked herself into a state over where people would put their coats, if there would be room in the house for people, etc. Poor thing.
I think ESPN had 3 or 4 out of 5 million entries that correctly picked all of the games to this point. This year has been an extreme outlier, with lots of upsets. I’m pretty much a lock to win our office pool, and my picks were over 50% wrong.
oh hon, i’m so sorry. i didn’t know that about dementia.
Suz, I feel like I just had the rug pulled out from under me.
“A regular Vincent Van Gopher!” :) love the cartoon, thanks Suz and hi everyone.
We had a beautiful sunset here with dark purple clouds, and then it rained. Beautiful spring day.
sigh… i wish i had ruby slippers to click and could conjure up a great bass player for ya dood
hey margot — that sounds so lovely! glad ya liked the toon — how ya doing tonight?
A friend told me recently that her mother has anxiety even if there is nothing to have anxiety over, like she might have forgotten that she really Should Be Worried. Getting old pretty much sucks, but I also know someone who is 92 and sharp as a tack. Still learning how to do new things with the computer. Amazing.
That totally blows, TG…! 8-(
2x, agree.
We really need to research dementia and it’s causes a whole lot better, in fact, the full spectrum with TBI and PTSD research spearheading the way…!
((bg and LM)) I’m glad you’re able to be with her.
what ct said
is it environmental or genetic? there are so many unanswered questions
Is the current batch of drop-down ads here, confined to just IE9…?
holy moly — half moon bay is shutting down its police dept due to budget cuts
I got nobody. Nobody in Final Four. Only 1 in Elite Eight. I said I wasn’t gonna bracketize this year… but I did anyway… and got skunked. again. Didn’t watch tonight. Or last time it was on. Or Sweet Sixteen. Bummer. At least it’s baseball again and NBA playoffs are starting soon.
What it do, Suze? Pups?
Hi there, I had the weekend off from LM last week, and it is a long time to go w/o seeing her. She is getting lost.
But I was also lucky this week to have been at home, b/c I lost my best girl, my baby, Maybelline. It happened suddenly, and I would have been devastated if I had not had the last few nights with her. I have so many cats buried in the yard now that I am having to pile them on top of each other. . .
hey bfl — how ya doing tonight? are ya ready for baseball season?
(((bg))) i’m so sorry to hear about maybelline. i’m glad you were able to spend her last days with her.
*heh* Skunky like the true beer fart that ya are, eh…? ;-)
Aloha, Bfl…! You’re up late…!
Hiya, pups. Busy on projects today, as spring seems to be peeking over the horizon. Made two new benches for my greenhouse. G*d, was my table saw dirty.
Thanks for your diary today, CT. Got me into a discussion with Ms ET. I was sort of agnostic on the Libya civil war intervention, but have now realized this is just another clusterfuck that’s making Gen. Smedley Butler laugh in his grave.
evening, LLN firegods
hey et — i love those benches! how ya doing tonight?
hey ppd — how was your day?
I was actually stunned at the response to it, ET, and, mahalo for the flattery…! *g*
It was certainly a robust thread…! ;-)
Kickin’ back now. I’ve got to finish an encyclopedia entry before the end of Monday, so reading through some stuff.
It was. You and Ms. ET weren’t the only people to wake me up on this. The only media person who has any backbone on this is Alyona Minkovsky on RT TV.
prepped the garden & picked up the first plantings of the season — good therapy working the soil.
it was at the top of the recommended list too! well done tut
still too wet to do any gardening up here. i’m gonna need several days of sunshine before i can stop worrying about slipping on the mud in the driveway. i’m looking forward to being able to walk down to get the mail and enjoying some sunshine instead of having to worry about slipping in mud and trying to figure out just how deep those puddles are.
I’m good ty, how about you?
CT, I missed that earlier today, but it sure has some good info that I had not seen elsewhere. Fuck. Sorry to get on that tangent, but WTF? How does BO think he is going to get re-elected? A billion dollars for his campaign? That is sick, and there is no end in sight for the crap. I can hardly stand what our country has become.
just kicking back tonight. tomorrow and mon i’ve got errands to run, tax papers to drop off, groceries to buy etc. still in waiting for the call mode and trying not to fret.
I do like me some’s RT TeeVee…! ;-) Look out, folks, I suppose I’m a Commie now…! *g*
Elton John was on SNL tonight, and he did a duet with Leon Redbone….
hey robert — how’s soPA tonight? it hasn’t aired here yet
You all out west gota see it. Elton and Leon rocked the SNL stage like it hasn’t been rocked in years….
Ooh, I’ve yet to file my returns too…!
i like leon — iirc i saw him opening for willie nelson many many years ago
This song has been going thru my mind.
Leon’s got an albino lion’s mane of white hair to match his equally flowing beard. With those dark glasses, just a stage presence nothing short of dynamic….
A rockin’ good time….
that’s a great song — joe has such a great catalog of songs… maybe its about time for a joe night… maybe in a couple weeks after julianna makes her appearance
RT TV is critical of Wall Street, but they are not close to commie. Unlike GE-MSNBC they don’t have to utter a disclaimer every 90 seconds, either.
Julianna or Juliana is my second favorite woman’s name.
My favorite woman’s name is Jeanette, because it sounds French…
jen is wanting it pronounced julie- anne-a which she thinks is more informal than the very formal sounding juli-ah-na. i’ve decided that i’m calling her jujube (at least while she is little)
so what’s the first fav et?
Well, basically, I am a true Commie at heart, equality for all, I say..! ;-)
Uh-oh, Suz, did I just drive everybody off…? ;-)
Judith – Ms. ET’s real name. Julia is our daughter’s name, but Julianna is an awesome name.
Two years ago, I went and saw Julie & Julia with Judy and Julia, and my sister Judy too.
i don’t think so tut — tis more likely that its just the ebb and flow of the lake dood
both lovely names et. stephanie (formerly known as baby girl) was who came up with jujube’s middle name — she’s going to be julianna renee.
i bet that was a fun movie night
That’s a boatoad of J’s to keep track of, ET…! ;-)
I got my author’s copies of Elements of the Soul from the publishers today. Damn good Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories throughout. Hope to read the other author’s stories tomorrow night. The Sweety had me into the 7th of 7 days spring cleaning today. Almost done, now. Makes me wish I hadn’t bought into the big house deal back when I was so young and trendy….
sundays are meant for happy times spent reading — unless sweety has plans for more spring cleaning…
We finally had two days of 80 to 90 F weather this week after months of heavy rain.
i’ve got another storm coming in tomorrow bringing rain through monday. i’m so ready for some sunshine and warmth
I was even willing to pay a housekeeping service to come in, but it would’ve been wasted money because The Sweety would have insisted we clean the whole house anyway so she wouldn’t feel ashamed when the housekeepers came….
We kept to the crosswalks going away from the theater.
my mom used to clean the house before the cleaning lady came (back when she was still working) and gave the exact same reason.
It must be very confusing to live every day as a woman….
i don’t know — i just live mine as me — back in the day when i had a lady come in every now and then to clean, i never got all ‘mom’ about it.. figured it wasn’t supposed to be cleaned and gorgeous until after she was done.
i used to have a poster back in the 70′s that said ‘fuck housework’. it hung in my living room and alto the poster is gone, my attitude about it hasn’t changed.
I’m sooo looking forward to Adam Horowitz’s book salon tomorrow…! I’m totally flabbergasted with Sir Goldstone’s recantation of his Cast Lead findings… In an op-ed in today’s Washington Times of all places…? Wtf…? 8-(
So I said to her, “Joy, it’s sunday. Even God rested on the 7th day.”
But she just said, “Well, you aren’t God, and thank God for that!”
Sometimes I envy the dead….
bev has wonderful timing with the scheduling book salons.
its gonna be a good one tut
She does have impeccable timing indeed… Fortuitous even…! *g*
We broke high records twice — Thursday & Friday, Suzzz
she books ahead — you can see how far ahead by looking at upcoming events
wow.. portland broke some up here but in a totally diff way … latest day in the year for hitting 60 degrees, 5th wettest month of march
I forget where I read it, but some oracle predicts the world will be inhabited by its first trillionaire within 5 years….
Wowsers…! Bill Moyers is on tap…? Out-fucking-standing…! *g*
Drought alert for California was suspended last week — nearly 160% of normal snow pack in the mountains.
He didn’t recant. He observed that the Israelis have responded to questions raised in his report and Hamas has not. He observed that some of the questions raised in his report remain unanswered. His op-ed, which is a bit too soft on the Israelis, also suffered from an unfortunate headline which he did not write. Looking forward to Adam too.
100…? Luv’s ya babe…! ;-)
and bill zimmerman!
happy lucky 100 tut!!!
Another slug for the cause…! ;-)
thanks dood :)
The Jim Carrol FDL BS looks mighty tasty too…! ;-)
bev does a remarkable job getting and scheduling the authors for salon. there are several tasty treats in the works that are not scheduled yet… i remember the first book salons way back in teh day — john dean is still my fav — he came back after each salon and responded to comments he may hae missed earlier — including the salon scheduled on his birthday.
CT Thanks for that great diary today. It uncoiled some of the old grey matter. I started watching at 96 an thought Suz was going to nail it .
tis getting to be about the time that i turn back into a pumpkin folks. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
I totally agree that John Dean was the best…! For being a principled ‘conservative’ he rulez the roost…! ;-)
*heh* So did I, but, I saw the 99 and grasped the opportunity…! ;-)
night Suzzz – be well
Pleasant dreams, Suz…! Enjoy your ‘weekend’…! *g*
It was rather amusing when PW’s post defending our intervention in Libya was frontpaged unbeknownst to her…! Good times were had by all…! *g*
