Sure they’re terrible, but the Republicans remain entertaining.

Late Night: A Plea for Less Civility in Politics |
| By: Allison Hantschel Monday March 14, 2011 8:00 pm |
I spent last Thursday with the Wisconsin Assembly debate on the Screw the Workers We Don’t Need ‘Em Anyway Act on in the background while I worked, and as I listened to speeches by Republicans and Democrats I was struck by something.
These people were angry. They were hurt. They were unapologetic. They said things like “lies” and “hate” and “wrong” and “unjust.” They said these things loudly.

Health Care Reform, One Year Later: More Uninsured, Higher Costs |
| By: Jon Walker Monday March 14, 2011 3:30 pm |
As we approach the one-year anniversary of Obama’s health care reform scheme becoming law, it is important to note that the number of uninsured people in America has remained roughly the same, or actually increased slightly, in the last year–and the cost of health insurance has continued to rise.
Obama Gingerly Enters Gun Control Debate |
| By: David Dayen Monday March 14, 2011 2:45 pm |
Obama avoids the discussion of high-capacity magazine clips like the one Jared Loughner used, or the broken American mental health system that never gave Loughner care he clearly needed. Once again we have a cautious middle course. But even on those terms, I’m not sure what he’s endorsing here. Does he want to close the gun show loophole? Does he need legislation to carry out his vision of responsible and consistent background checks? Is it all just a matter of enforcement?

| By: Kirk James Murphy, M.D. Monday March 14, 2011 2:00 pm |
When the nuclear engineer from an identical plant states there’s any possibility of such a catastrophe, Washington, we have a problem. And where are the up to 20 years of reactor no 1 spent fuel rods that could cause such a problem?
