Remember the priorities* of the American Government are now,
Libyans>Afghans>Iraqis>Americans…but at least > Yemenis & Bahrainians
The first day of Operation Odyssey Dawn had a price tag that was well over $100 million for the U.S. in missiles alone. And the U.S. military, which remains in the lead now in its third day, has pumped millions more into air- and sea-launched strikes targeting air-defense sites and ground-force positions along Libya’s coastline.
*Note, priorities may include killing you.

But the Big ZerØ is showing that he is tough, tough, tough.
It would be nice if he could just extend the NFZ to stop Israel bombing the shit out of the poor benighted Palestinians…but that ain’t gonna happen, AIPAC would have a conniption and cut off his campaign funding.
Somebody forgot the coup. I know it’s here somewhere. It comes with a colonel or general or something. You guys just go on, it’ll turn up soon.
Every president (except Carter) has done something like this. Seems to be one of the unofficial requirements of the job.
Let the impeachment proceedings begin.
Here is an interesting chart that can help determine just which countries the US Corporation will “protect”.
Libya is # 16, Yemen #32, Oman #36, Bahrain #44.
Thanks for the piece, Attaturk, been wondering about the cost and where the money is coming from. The robbing Peter to pay Paul scenario can only mean further cuts to social programs and, of course, tax cuts for bilionaires. They haven’t had one in 3 months now, poor bastards must be rationing their caviar by now.
What a miserable, damn mess!
It gets worse with the crash of a US Corporation war plane. Of course now the Corp. has an excuse to use ground forces.
I guess we understand now why impeachment was taken off the table for Bush, Democrats like to do the same damn things.
nomolos@6,just a matter of time
Impeachment is something to do with the rather ancient document known as The Constitution and has nothing to do with the USC Business Plan which is the ruling document used by Congress, the Supreme Court and the USCEO. Please keep up to date.
Good Morning, pups. It’s Brooks and Herbert today. Obviously the blast faxes went out from Republicans, Inc. Bobo is also concern trolling today, just like Putzy yesterday. In “The Problem With Partners” he gurgles that as we enter Libya’s unknown, we should not react so strongly against unilateralism’s risks that we ignore multilateralism’s weaknesses. International cooperation is Teh Suxxors! WOLVERINES!!! Jeez… Mr. Herbert, in “Separate and Unequal,” says more than a half-century after Brown v. Board of Education, segregated schools remain a handicap for poor students.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a variety of bagels with cream cheese. At least it’s not yesterday any more. Got to work only to find [GASP] that a piece of the coffee maker had vanished so there was no coffee to be had until the coffee service guy came to replace it. It was not the happiest of mornings! Have a great day.
Good morning all,
Thanks for that chart that set me wondering, Looks like we “need”and burn 7o+ million bbl/day X 365 dys/ yr =2.5 billion barrels a year. We’ve been at that seed corn for a while. So question becomes the earth being a rather finite ball how does that effect earths skin as we shrink the interior support system of which we are totally ignorant of.
For example will the earth “work” tectonically if we prove able to extract the very last barrel? There wouldn’t be earth quakes as we shrink the insides of mother Earth would there ?
It’s all good so let’s go for a drive. The consequences, if any , will be borne by the future schmucks. Meanwhile those captains of the rape of Mama Earth live in riches beyond our imagination.
Yep, one down this morning….
Silly me, I lost my mind there for a bit. That damn pesky Constitution thingy, how passe’ of me. I’ll try to do better.
And just remember every gallon you buy and burn, costs another gallon for the military to insure there’s gas coming out of the hose. The military burns half of what we consume daily.
It is all about OIL.
But Bogus barry reassured us that there would be no boots on the ground and he hasn’t broken any other promises so far./s
gurgles
Good word.
Should have given them a boot to the Bunns.
[giggle] Thanks for the smile!
The protection of “corporate interests” under the guise of protecting America’s strategic interests, oil, while fucking Americans is analogous to protecting the slave-owner, his institution of slavery and guaranteeing the servitude of the slave, at the slave’s expense. So much for restrictions on the limits of government power, imposed on you by law bought by monopolies in commerce and trade, corporate whores, for the benefit of corporate fucking whores.
The failure of America to connect the exploitation of the slave for his energy, and the base line rape of Americans as energy costs is a pebble in a pond, a tsunami extracting copious life, liberty and wealth from a nation, manifest in a quicksand decline in a standard of living for most while, specific corporations make record profits, is akin to a economic “fugitive slave law,” imposed on all Americans as specific “corporate interests,” as Jefferson feared would become greater threats to liberty than standing armies. Fuck the corporate slave-owners from Wall street, to energy and health insurance/care, who seem to have leveraged our government to the detriment of the American people.
Speaking of Car talk! Funny how that .80 cents of every dollar “WE THE PEOPLE” spend on just gasoline, billions of dollars wasted out our collective tailpipes has really not changed over generations, but much else has. Meanwhile America’s “sodomization” by the corporate interests is protected, just as the institution of slavery was protected by slaveowners. Servitude to a master, a government, or a King is not liberty!
The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer.
Henry Kissinger, New York Times, Oct. 28, 1973
Thanks!
Hey kidz, don’t forget that BP lost a boatload of ca$h money$$$ on the *preventable* Gulf of Mexico OIL volcano disaster.
Hope you US citizens are enjoying how YOU and I are paying back BP for their LOSS of profit due to the GoM disaster.
This is an unattributed assertion that I pulled outta my left butt cheek. Anyone wanna bet that I’m *wrong*???
My *bet* is that BP Barry made a little deal with BP to drop bombs on Libya so that BP would get the OIL.
Any takers on my bet??
