I’m on chauffeur duty again this weekend, driving Dan Ellsberg to the White House for a rally today at 12 noon. Dan, Kevin Zeese and Retired Col. Ann Wright are board members of the Bradley Manning Advocacy Fund, and they will be calling on President Obama to end Manning’s abusive conditions at Quantico.
Other speakers include Elliott Adams, Chantelle Bateman, Brian Becker, Medea Benjamin, Zachary Choate, Ryan Endicott, Ayesha Fleary, Chris Hedges, Kathy Kelly, Mike Malloy, Michael McPhearson, Caneisha Mills, Ralph Nader and Debra Sweet. I’m really looking forward to it, and if you’re in the area I hope you’ll come down and join us.
I’ll be live tweeting the event. You can follow me here.
Tomorrow we’ll be at Quantico for the demonstration, and FDL will be live streaming the event. You can find details about everything that is going on this weekend at Stop These Wars.org, and sign up for tomorrow’s Quantico rally here.

About Firedoglake
I’ll be marching in the generic, all-purpose anti-war march in Hollywood today. It’s not Bradley Manning-specific, but still worthwhile.
Admire your willingness to get arrested. I haven’t done that yet, but more of us need to.
Sounds like a great event; ‘chauffer’ is a great job title in this context! ;o)
Can’t wait for the videos from both events, as I can only be there in spirit, as is true for so many others. It’s possible that resistance is beginning to spread through the land as injustices are highlighted more and more.
Being arrested at these events is a mark of honor, to be sure.
Keep it up, Jane. Stopping this torture is the single most important thing on our agenda. If the government gets away with this, it can get away with anything, and some of us are surely next on the list.
Actually, there’s a specifically Bradley Manning protest tomorrow at Quantico, VA. Vets for Peace in DC has the details. Down here in DC myself from Philly. I’ll be doing a photoessay as usual.
The girls have been having a great time with Dan. Took a great photo of Lucy upending Dan’s hand from his keyboard with her nose this morning, just like he was Jon Walker. They’ve already made him a member of the family.
Awww! Is Dan being a good doggy uncle?
Sounds like quite a lineup, Hedges etc.
Dan is a superb doggy uncle.
On the left coast, I can’t be there in person, but all my support for everyone there and freedom for Bradley Manning!
Thanks, Jane, and FDL, and the supporters of the Bradley Manning Advocacy Fund.
Dan, I’m old enough to remember you on the steps at Sproul Hall. The struggle really does continue. Thank you.
I just finished “The Most Dangerous Man In America” a couple of days ago via Netflix. Dan is my hero!
decades of rw painting him as “a mad man” = Epic Fail :D
Wow! Sure wish I could be there this weekend.
You guyz RAWK it!
The parallels between the Pentagon Papers and the Wikileaks situation are striking.
I want to say “Be Careful”, but not even sure what that means. Just hoping for the best, I guess. Admire all the smarts and bravery out there. Would love to say something to Manning….I hope he knows alot of people believe in his rights and his claim to safety and dignity.
A lifelong leftie living on the left coast and unable to be there with you but I am proud of what you all are doing to stop this horror. I am in mouring for my country and sickened at the way this administration is supporting torture, giving our country away to the banks, refusing to support our workers and their ignoring of the poor whose numbers keep increasing. Every day as the unConstitutional injustices increases it shames the rest of us to the world and we will not regain our dignity unless we stand together and demand our country begins the reinstatement of human rights.

I saved a bunch of photos of him being arrested last time at the White House gates; what a human being he is! ‘Dan’; that cracks me up!
Wow wish I could be there.
If I can’t be there in person I’ll be there in spirit.
I hope this help draw some attention to this matter and results in the end of the torture that Manning is now experiencing .
ps I got a daughter that’s the same age as Bradley. When I see his picture I see a kid and I just can’t stand thinking this is happening to a damn kid.
What a great country, a shining beacon of hope./s
Can’t be there, but I’ll light a candle.
Thanks for doing this, Jane, and thanks ever so much to Dan Ellsberg for stepping up once again!! With all of you in spirit.
Free Bradley Manning!!
113 of us went to jail – for dan it was his 81st time
Mr. Ellsberg just keeps going. I keep wondering what his pre-trial confinement was like compared to Private Manning’s.
