Pouting Baby wants to know why Scottdemort hates teachers. (photo courtesy of Jim White)
Pouting Baby is talking to us again. – JW
I like teachers. They are really smart. They’re cool and they are very patient while kids are learning. But Scottdemort really hates teachers. Why does Scottdemort hate teachers?
Here in Florida, the legislature just passed a really bad bill that punishes teachers. Scottdemort had already told the legislature that he hates teachers and that he would sign this bill that does mean things to them:
On the strength of Republicans’ super-majority, the House muscled out a bill Wednesday that would represent a significant shift in how Florida teachers are paid and evaluated.
For new teachers, the measure ends tenure and makes half of their annual evaluations based on student performance.
But Scottdemort hates more than teachers. This bill is linked to other mean things that Tea Party Republicans are doing:
“So-called ‘merit pay’ is just a euphemism for the nationwide attempt to kill unions,” said Rep. Elaine Schwartz, D-Hollywood.
So, if Scottdemort hates teachers and unions, what does he like? He likes his money. And he likes the company that keeps making him money. In fact, he likes the money and the company so much that he gave his stock in the company to his wife, hoping that would let him hold on to the money while he keeps on making decisions that make more money for the company. Mr. Jim wrote about Scottdemort’s $62 million dollar reason for helping pill mills and killing a plan that would have stopped the pill mills killing 6 people in Florida every day. It turns out that when Mr. Jim wrote that story, Scottdemort had already given the $62 million in stock to his wife:

Governor Scottdemort hates teachers and the law but loves money.
As Florida Gov. Rick Scott reorganizes health agencies, cuts spending and pushes for new free-market health policies, his ownership of Solantic, the urgent care chain, increasingly poses conflict of interest questions.
/snip/
But the most important step the governor must take to avoid a conflict of interest, some ethics experts say, is to divest his Solantic interests.
In January, Scott did transfer his Solantic stock – to his wife.
That should work really well for Scottdemort and his wife. They will keep on making lots of money while people shopping for pain pill prescriptions choose to pay for the low cost office visits at Solantic instead of going to more expensive emergency rooms.
Do you remember when people working for Georgie W got in trouble for giving talks to government employees on how they could help Georgie W be popular and get re-elected? It turns out that Scottdemort is doing that for himself. Mr. Kenneth Q. found an email from Scottdemort to all state employees that is like a political ad for himself. You can read the email here. Here is what Mr. Kenneth Q. said about it:
There is no standard by which this is anything other than a political e-mail. It has nothing to do with the jobs that state workers are doing, it is simply a list of right-wing talking points that Rick Scott said repeatedly on the campaign, at his inauguration and at pretty much every public appearance he’s said since then. The e-mail even uses his campaign slogan.
I talked to a number of political scientists today and they all suggested this was unethical, at best. That’s my conclusion as well. In fact, if Barack Obama used the federal government e-mail system to send an e-mail filled with his campaign talking points and ending with “Hope and Change,” the right and Fox News would go insane with anger.
But it may not simply be a matter of unethical behavior, it may also be illegal.
Scottdemort sure does hate the law.

pouting baby!
Florida 79, UCSB 51.
Nice.
I hate Scottdemort. I think he should be in a tiny cell.
Good evening!
Pouting Baby!
Scottdemort hates teachers because most of them have hair!
Jim and Pouting Baby!
Scottdemort hates everybody except the rich. If he had his way, we would all live under bridges and take whatever jobs he and his buddies offered for a heel of stale bread and a cup of dirty water.
And he should probably be wearing a caveman smock.
Heh! He probably is jealous.
we were in the Lab/medicare biz for 49 years,we never over-billed 1 penny cause we were honest, and terrified of going to jail, scrupulous records millions of patients…this fukker is governor of 3rd largest state….head scratch
Well, we have to make some money, but only so they can take it away from us.
Seems to me he has earned stripped naked and placed in a stress position.
Sharron Angle, OTOH, loves teachers and for the right reasons, at least if you can believe what she says.
put his thieving ass in jail…yesterday
He’s the biggest fraud ever when it comes to Medicare. That just qualified him for being a fraudulent governor.
I hope by the time Pouting Baby is Frowning Adult, there aren’t pitches for stupid shit like devices that make it so you don’t have to bend your fat as down far enough to wash your own fucking feet.
at least if you can believe what she says.
Where are the unicorns, fairies, and Easter Bunny?
Heh. Even Pouting Baby knows you don’t believe anyone.
my dad always stressed that the feds didn’t fuk around…he must have payed off a lot of people
sadly, plz read & consider my response to you in EPUland on last thread.
Or his theft just got big enough. See Jon Walker’s post from earlier this afternoon.
I may not believe it, but it is worth highlighting when a nutcase goes public with an opinion that is contrary to her fellow nutcases.
3rd largest? CA, NY, TX
Or did TX actually secede and I just missed it, what with all the focus on Japan?
Scotty is slime. He leaves a slime trail like a slug through a garden.
Too scratchy and humiliating. I think they should dress him up as one of the Beagle Boys. Bet those sweaters are nice and comfy in a clammy cell.
One could only hope.
Is NY still 2nd largest? I woulda thought it was surpassed by TX years ago.
left you a response,on Warren, but Annie ,im not sure of its gender…so i fire away…hope it doesnt displease you
And it’s so humid here those slime trails never disappear.
Hey, don’t impugn slugs. They have a positive functional role in the biosphere. (Don’t know what it is & too lazy to look it up.)
You can only believe Sharon Angle when she’s being batshit crazy. Which, admittedly, is much of the time.
I can see a resemblance there.
Just sayin’.
didnt know this either
Fla.is just infested
http://floridaindependent.com/24075/marco-rubio-the-no-1-recipient-of-koch-money-in-2010-senate-races
Yep. Rubio didn’t spend that much time trying to please the teabaggers because he already had the Koch money tied up.
it is so vile…it oozes viciousness
Nice. Never expected such a comment from you. I suppose those of us in Texas who aren’t wingers would just be sol huh?
NYers, with new DINO guv to the right of Christie, are sol now too.
it was not widely reported…..Fla has really been reamed steamed and dry-cleaned
I guess the reality is that AMERICANS are sol now… Sorry. I have very deep passions.
Hardly surprising that the state which is home to the palmetto bug would also harbor the giant Kochroach.
Besides, banana slugs are cool.
Hard to argue with that conclusion these days (the one on the country).
Those things are positively prehistoric. Just like the state.
Or Scottdemort and Rubio.
thats one thing i left behind in the sunshine state…the flying ones are like godzilla
arwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
I’ve never understood the regional loyalty thingy just as I’ve never understood national patriotism. If you identify with a location, a group, a team, a collective of any sort (which I don’t), then you subject yourself to both the admiration & criticism that goes with that group.
Perhaps it comes from living in NYC for so long, the most hated place in the U.S. (Ford to NYC: Drop Dead.) But I think mine is inherent.
Do they eat Cheetos?
One of the more delightful things about western Montana is no cockroaches of any sort.
another Rubio cohort
http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/legislature/ray-sansom-case-shocker-ex-college-president-flips-on-him-developer/1156677
It’s not so much “regional loyalty” as it is the fact that it’s my home and I live here and I’m not a winger and neither are the vast majority of people I interact with. I don’t understand why I deserve to be booted out of the country because Rick Perry says something stupid. I don’t see why I should be held responsible every time Cornyn or Gohmert waxes teabagic. I’ll never get why Texas progressives, (who outnumber voters in more than half of the states), seem to be held personally responsible for the wingers here. Texas is the whipping post of national progressives and those that do so have almost always never actually spent time here. I’m not “loyal” to the state, I live here. I don’t see how stereotyping Texans is any different from stereotyping black people or gay people or Muslims. That’s all.
No, I think that’s what wingnuts do. In the privacy of their parents’ basement, of course.
AZ Senate President Russell Pearce is doing extra pouty tonight
Meggers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_DVyJh0ngo
Floridians were a pretty good punching bag for a while. Seems we didn’t know how to mark a ballot.
With Goober Scottdemort and Senator Marco Rubio and a Rethuglican Supermajority, we’re about to become more like Texas.
That’s a pout we can believe in.
How funny!
Stereotyping is inherent in the human condition. It’s allegedly one of those adaptive mechanisms that Darwin argued led to survival. (I still haven’t figured out why Darwin isn’t circular reasoning, though I do agree with the evidence on evolution.)
So criticize banksters all you want. I was one for my entire professional career. Lock ‘em all up in (assuming the legal case can be made, which it can for the vast majority). Doesn’t influence my self-image at all.
And pushing NYS out of the U.S.? I wouldn’t be unhappy about that either.
i bet he and gov let sick people die brewer are very unhappy they lost this round … and are planning how to win on these issues in the future..
[nelsonmuntz]Ha-haaaa![/nelsonmuntz]
Well, we can’t change how we feel, just how we react to it. :)
And poor Sheriff Joe is no doubt crying in his green beer.
Nice to see the whackaloons lose one for a change. I shudder to think what is going to come out of our leg this session.
Getting his nachos soggy.
Ding.
Now we’re having an arm wrestling contest on the most vilified area of the U.S.
Just to demonstrate how stereotypes change, the ‘Rust Belt’ is now the ‘Labor Revival Belt.’ The one we wanted to close our eyes on, put our hands over our ears and loudly chant LALALALA, is now the only hope for saving the U.S.
On edit: “When circumstances (or evidence) change, I change my mind. What do you do?” Quote attributed to Keynes, although I have not been able to track it down.
another great tune………G

Sheriff Joe would never have green beer. Red, white and blue beer, maybe.
Time for me to toddle off. The corrupting continues and I have dissertation chapters to read and edit so I can graduate one of my brood (have to make room for the new one I am adding on Monday).
g’nite dr dick
Night DrD.
Goodnight. Congrats on the one about to graduate and the one joining. Nice to stay in balance…

hi pouting baby
consider me your cool gay auntie™
here’s some useful profanity you’ll need to know as you grow up
piece of criminal fuck
that’s the florida guy
And on it goes…nite Dr.D!
That describes him very well.
Realistically, Arpaio probably honored St. Patrick by dusting off some of those old “No Irish Need Apply” signs.
That wouldn’t surprise me a bit. No Chiefs O’Hara in AZ!
Goodnight gang. Thanks for a fun time poking at Scottdemort.
g’nite jim
Night Jim and Pouting Baby!
oh evening savings time again….sweet dreamz puppers
God damn, these wingnuts really want us to know what kind of troglodytes they can be, don’t they?
g’nite sadly
I’m a rawstory fan but I missed that one.
Given the weaknesses in Darwin’s reasoning (it’is over 100 years old afterall) it’s not surprising that it can be easily attacked by a propaganda scheme like intelligent design.
Scientists may have done much better work at explaining Darwin subsequently, work which I am unaware of. But as near as I can tell from the outside, the main defense of Darwin is in the documentary evidence of evolution.
If there is research arguing why this is ‘adaptive,’ it hasn’t hit my radar, though I’ve been looking for it. I have read Beak of the Finch, which touches on subject of adaptive change, but that is such a small example, it did not convince me of the larger case.
There’s no other word for it: Dipshits.
Though “craven”, “cowardly”, “gullible”, “simplistic”, “obtuse”, “uninformed” and so many others also apply.
Lack of intelligent, believable information belongs in your list.
So true but if I’d typed everything that applied, I’d use up Jane’s bandwidth for a month.
I used to spend a lot of time at RawStory but they don’t worry much about who advertises on their site or what the content is. After I’d picked up my third or fourth bit of malware from there, I stopped going.
Or put differently, “Change happens.”
Some survives, some doesn’t. I think that change may or may not be adaptive. Or it may or may not last, whether it is adaptive or not.
IOW, so much randomness involved in the process, seems unscientific to argue that just bc it is change in response to a stimulus, it MUST be adaptive.
In larger human terms, to pick a particularly clear example, U.S. foreign policy changes in response to stimuli. Some of it may be pro-survival, but much more seems to be the reverse.
George Strait? Really? Never been a country music fan but nice try.
I have a particularly fond spot in my heart for rawstory.
In June 2000, visiting distant relatives in NE Poland, we drove by a compound with 6′ high stucco walls. My distant cousin remarked: The Russians moved out and the U.S. moved in.
In 2007, rawstory revealed (forget the female reporter’s name) that was one of the CIA black sites.
Yes, me as well. BUT, Raw Story led me to DK, that led me to FDL! Hello Pups!
I love pouting baby! No matter how crappy my day or week has been, seeing pouting baby always brings a smile to my face, and no end of laughter at the insights provided. And why does Rick Scott look so much like Voldemort? You would have thought that the voters would have realized that and not elected the most evil wizard-twin.
Cool!
Here’s the link.
i heart pouting baby too
Just to illustrate the racist crap that passes for comment in the AZCentral comment section:
My loyalty ends where attacks begin. I wrote the editors of RawStory and I never even heard back from them. And malware continues to crop up there. I’m sick of getting messages that say, “Your computer is infected with a virus but if you give us your credit card number, we’ll clean up your pc”. No thanks.
jeebuz that’s a lotta hate in one short paragraph
They have a lot of practice.
Speaking of how afu Texas can be, this is some of what I get to put up with here.
Kinda hard to have a unifying message from the left when bigoted assholes like this are calling the shots.
And they left that comment up? What does that say? JHFC!
Margaret,
I had all the same! And finally my daughter told me “stay away from Raw Story and other sites that advertise crap that kills us.” After 7 years of babying my Dell laptop, which died a glorious death last year in a horrid virus, MrCE bought me a Mac. Still, problems here.
You better believe it.
We were on our way from one obscure location to another. Think we ended up at a sister of my cousin’s wife, a very small apt somewhere.
However, I had brought home with me a complete road atlas of Poland (there aren’t a lot of roads). When the article appeared in 2007, which I found & linked in 94, I got out the atlas, figured out approx where we had to have been. There was only one location in the area with an airplane symbol, so it had to have been the place.
The interesting lesson for U.S. foreign policy was that during the Clinton admin (June 2000) the U.S. was setting up torture, rendition sites surrounding Russia.
Other VERY IMPT lesson, is that none of the locals were fooled. My cousin didn’t live particularly close, although his SIL did. But he KNEW what was going on.
I knew nothing back then, and there was a big language barrier so I had no response, but it made a big, and appropriately so, impression on me in real time.
Link now at 95.
I read that earlier today. Stupid old coot.
IF you put a nasty word they will remove it other that pretty anything goes. They won’t let you put in the word fuck for instance.
You can’t say “fuck” but you can call human beings animals and use all sorts of violent and degrading imagery…? Sounds like the yahoo boards, or what the yahoo boards were like eight years ago, the last time I read any of them.
I’ve not traced any of my computer invasions (had my share) to rawstory & have it open all the time.
He managed to badmouth gays, Anglos and African Americans all in one cut. the problem is this isn’t atypical for the local Democratic Party which is dominated by a single clique who have the numbers to always elect one of their own. They have no use for input from anybody else and they make it quite clear that other Democrats should stfu and give them money. Needless to say, I’ve never been affiliated with them.
I haven’t had any since I stopped using RawStory. That’s anecdotal but so far it’s holding up.
They are very Republican and teabaggerish. It is how they view the world.
BTW, my truly BFF (since late 1970s anyhow) is a Texan. Grew up on a ranch in Del Rio & now lives in Houston.
Time for me to toddle. Laters!
g’nite margaret
Thank you, Jim. Pouting Baby is incredibly cute and I always enjoy reading what Pouting Baby has to say.
Where’s Rayne?
N why not an announcement as she’s obviously disappeared?
She was good.
I hate the state I live in sometimes.
What we’re seeing is a concentrated efforts to close whatever “commons” remain (i.e. AT&T and the internet). It is going to take all of our time, money and votes to beat back this well-financed and coordinated effort from the masterbaters of the universe.
A really, really tiny cell!
Regional identities are an offshoot of loyalty to family and nostalgia of places where you grow up IMHO. If you had a pretty happy childhood with no major issues and your family and friends were there for you on the important stuff, its probably normal for folks to transfer those feelings to the places where those memories formed.
And not everyone hates the Big Apple in Texas. I really like the Yankees, even though i shouldn’t for political reasons. The Yankees of the early 90′s under Joe Torre were a class act and played the game the way it was meant to be played until they traded for Giambi and tried to use big bats to replace pitching and defense.
the only thing i hate about New York is Wall Street in its current form.
