Strawberries, spinach and peas are very happy with the odd snow on them here. They don’t seem to mind a bit, and just do what they do.

nope, no quotas. we had performance standards — which meant were each of us issuing citations at about the same rate as other officers on the same shift and in the same area of town.

Well, since I didn’t take any Nyquil until right at bed, the cough hit before the meds did – and that was no fun. So today I took a couple of doses… and will again in a bit so I’ll be dosed before I get in bed. I feel better every day, but the cough is sure persistent. : ( Tired of it.

How are you? Rainy you say? It was cloudy here, but no rain. The snow level last night was pretty low though – just above the highest houses on the foothills. I have plants starting their spring growth though. We might get snow in valley on Friday… but the weatherpeoples’ guesses this time of year are commonly wrong.

I put together a proposal for mayors against illegal guns last week where I wanted to track down and expose where the system fell apart when it comes to getting info about mentally ill and criminals into the NICS database. What astonished me was how many states provided no info so people with a history of violent mental illness could not legal buy a gun.

I had a whole section on understanding where HIPAA fits into the reporting system. I wanted to get the health care providers on my side. I wanted to let them see that just like they have an obligation to report someone who may be a threat to themselves or others they need to report people who should not get guns. Its not just about killing others it’s about killing themselves too.
