Any bets on just how few media outlets will point out that Wisconsin’s governor is essentially a straight-up terrorist?
“Do what I want or I’ll hurt these people.”

She was one of them influential thangs in the early 70′s for me and many of my pals.
It wuz them horns what got us, along with all that womenly vocal she had, bless it all.

Delores and the DeLago sisters
Very nice, sweety. Except for the pollen storms…could sure use some rain. Good weather for the bike, though.
It’s hard to say goodbye, to accept the silence of a dear voice. Peace and laughter at remembering the heart of the relationship. The love that binds people together.
I love Bette Midler, mwah mwah!
hey openhope — how’s the sound tonight?
hey margot — glad ya liked it — how’s ohio tonight?
i look good
Thanks, openhope. James was an amazing sculptor with a huge heart.
I had a great Working America canvasser come to my door. Just a joy.
He sat me down and had me write a letter to my state representative.
I wrote Working America and told them to give him a raise. (I actually don’t know if he works for them or volunteers.)
The sound actually got exciting today. We just heard from dear friends who’ve arrived safe and sound from Finland.
And we are SO excited. I just pulled a 9 lb. chicken out of the freezer to begin planning the party! I heart Finns.
That sounds wonderful. I am going to have to look up Working America.
sweet margot — what was your letter to your state rep about? sb5?
A possible reason Sarah Palin hasn’t yet announced her candidacy or the formation of an exploratory committee – Todd Palin’s ex-masseuse has a blog:
Ms. Tripp is real. She has been reeling out more details, one at a time, for the past five weeks. The Palins usually jump right on anything that dents their narrative, often with threats of legal action.
Crickets…
Flora Purim w/ Stan Getz
i covet your pantry :) how cool! how long is the party gonna last… err how long will your friends be visiting or are they here to stay?
I got a robo call from Dan Lungren tonite. Blerg. Barf.
ditto, I’m up for exploring any potential “community door-to-door” connection.
I’m going to research them!
oh my goodness
*making mental note to order more popcorn*
Yes, SB 5 and House Bill ..I forget what it is now.

Hey folks.
Well I didn’t call up Sean Hannity with my insight, but I’m glad I didn’t the very clever Kelly Canfield suggested a great opening.
For those who missed it last night here is what I was thinking of doing.
Call up Hannity with comment about rising gas prices.
“The reason you can’t relate to the rest of Americans is because, you live in a different world than the rest ofus. You are extremely rich, live in a $6.4 million dollar mansion on an island surrounded by TV moguls, Wall Street multimillionaires and movie stars, THEY are your peer group and neighbors. Not your old construction buddies.
“Gas would have to be $4k per gallon for you Sean before you felt the same economic impact it does on the average Joe.
“Look, right it takes about an 1/2 an hour for someone making minimum wage to earn a gallon of gas. How many gallons of gas could you buy with a half an hour of your wages Sean? You make so much money I’ll bet even if you could calculate it you would let anyone know because you don’t want your listens to know just how rich you are.
Then I could break it down:
The average Joe makes 36K a year and drives 12,000 miles a year at 20 miles to the gallon (like the Cadillac Hybrid Escalade you drive) at $3.50 a gallon that’s $2,100 per year or about 6% of his income in gas. Are you with me so far?
Now Sean, for you to feel the equivalent 6% economic bite of your income (reported to be 40 million a year from all sources) you would have to spend $2,400,000 a year in gas. For 6% of your income to be spent on gas it would take $4,000 per gallon and at 26 gallons per tank it should cost you just under $105,000 each time you fill up. But you don’t pay that, do you? No, because at the current prices gas only costs you .00005 of your income.
If Average Joe only had to pay that much of his income it would take .08 to fill his tank. It wouldn’t hurt him much either and he could easily “pay the freight” for his gas consumption. You just don’t feel what most Americans feel anymore Sean. You are more like those Wall Street guys than your Average American. I know you are proud of your success Sean, but it has disconnected you from the real pain of the rest of us feel.”
My pantry is winding down for this food season. Time to grow more shit and kill it ! :} !!!
hey spocko — how ya doing tonight? i sure like the way you break it down dood…
mmmm pork chops
A lot of negative stuff coming out – McGinniss’ and Dunn’s books, for instance – but Tripp is genuine Wasilla, FWIW.
bette and johnny
is the story getting picked up outside of wasilla?
Just rags like the Enquirer, etc. Meanwhile the Huckster is jumping on Natalie Portman to get at Bristol.
fuck. altho… the enquirer was the organization that broke the john edwards affair
i saw a lot of tweets earlier tonight about huckster and his silence when it came to bristol
Thanks. I’ve debated actually calling Sean and laying it out, but he really is a gifted verbal bully. I heard him to day pull out falsehood after falsehood arguing with this guy about the racism in the tea party.
He used the old, “The Republican party passed the civil rights act over the objections of the democrats.” The guy correctly brought up that the republican party of the 1960s was not the party of today.
Sean just ignored it and moved to his next attack.
I don’t really like to talk to people like that, for some people that is fun for them. It just gives me indigestion. But I might do it just to see if I can get the basic concept through. The media don’t live in our world because they are rich, so they don’t care about jobs or gas prices the way we do.
i would love to hear that call dood — it would be a forking great diary too…
The Huckster feels The Newt breathing down his neck. Maybe they will all eat one another. It will make for interesting television.
wow — jon stewart is really slamming the ceo’s getting bonuses and teachers getting the shaft….
Yeah, I’m going for it, and I’m going to love my jovial pigs, screw it. I can handle the fallout. Better they should be raised by me than in an Agri Enviro. They’re pigs, it’s their destiny.
She says bravely. I’ll be a basket case come late fall. “Most Spectacular Pig”, and all that……
We should not eat Pig Meat as a conveyor belt commodity. They need to be raised in pastures with mud puddles during the hot days.
you are offering them a better life and i’m sure your pantry will be better off in return.
“I married a German. Every night I dress up as Poland and he invades me.”__
Bette Midler
friends
hey robert — how ya doing tonight?
Born A Woman
i like her voice dood.. thanks
thanx fer the Bette!
One More For The Road
hope all are well
Spocko, I admire your insight…but, I’m a non-believer. I sincerely don’t think there’s any argument you can present that will cause a change of opinion. I just don’t. Maybe I’m seeing this wrong.
I say, fuck them and all their bullshit voices.
Focus on back taxes owed to the United States Internal Revenue Service.
All the rest is the same blather that I’m dealing with in our small community with personalities playing politics.
Follow the money.
hey ks — how ya doing tonight?
My buddy Mike Stark does those calls better than anyone, the funny thing is that I’m actually a really extrovert, and I have not problem with being on radio or public speaking, but Hannity, like other hosts has 390 different ways to “win” the conversation. Ranging from turning down your sound to just mocking you after you hang up. When I started thinking about how to have an impact on talk radio, I first thought about calling them up and arguing with them and then I realized that the game was always rigged and even if you ‘won’ the conversation, they still got the final word. So I went up stream to see what could actually impact them. Who did they actually listen to (advertisers.)
In this case the goal is to just get the seed out that that Sean is rich and out of touch. His listeners may know he is rich and they don’t begrudge him the money, because they think they can be rich too, but he actually does live in a 6.4 million dollar mansion on Centre Island. People like Rupert Murdoch and Billy Joel are his neighbors, not cops and construction workers.
That was young Sandy Posey. She had more CW and crossover hits than Loretta Lynn….
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”__Upton Sinclair
the same rational could be said about any of them spocko — not just sean…
You are quiet right, and as I just wrote, I’ve been tempted to go the argue with them and “win” route before, but didn’t.
If I did it, it would be just for fun. It’s all just blather for “entertainment”.
I’m looking into some FCC and FTC violations from some Clear Channel hosts now which could be a much bigger deal and could lead to significant fines.
Yes, and we are in that grasp of fascism in our working class.
Fuck defining Sean Asskiss Hannity. That’s so 2007.
We need a new dialogue that doesn’t include their muddied waters.
fuck — this video just came across my twitter feed.. that’s a wi state rep being tackled inside the capitol building today
100…?
If MSNBC & CNN (& Jon Stewart)ignored those Fox/Limbaugh idiots, they’d fade away.
happy lucky 100 tut!!!
That’s two nights in a row that I bite the bullet for ya, M’dear…! ;-)
Holy crap.
jon is kicking ass tonight on education…. tis the jon that i remember from the boosh years
thanks babe
tis fucking insane mary — judas forking priest
Dude, I got through to the O’Reilly radio show some years back, back when he was leading his anti-French boycott. I talked to the screener: “Well, I want to thank Bill for the boycott. The French have never appreciated anything we have done for them, and nobody will call them out except Bill!”
They put me right through. I went through my whole rap…and added, “In fact, I think we should take that Statue of Liberty, and throw it back in their face!”
Click. Co-workers listening in the next room said all they heard was me kissing his ass.
De Nada…! *g*
Some are itching to bully. When I was at the rally last Saturday the teabaggers reeked of the need to hit someone. It was scary.
Its been going on too long in Madison. Tempers are starting to rise, and even dumber shit’s bound to happen…
It is easy to imagine what might happen.
I admire your energy and insight.
I’m in favor of a completely different approach. It doesn’t include putting yourself out there to Hannity’s control. No good can come of that.
I really think we need to stop being reactive, which underscores the original message,.. and start rethinking OUR message.
The media is the message.
The media is the massage.
This will take creativity. But art has always offered a way. Written, sculpted, drawn, playing on instruments, etc.
?
I’m great today Suzanne thanx!
found some things by George Lakoff today. You folks may already know but he’s been confirming stuff I’ve been trying to impress on family since Labor Day. Namely the R-L dichotomy follows a lot of the ‘strict father’ — ‘nurturing parent’ dichotomy… and gives some great pointers for dealing with teh stoopid …
like public union members pay all of their pensions, like there’s plenty of money in the US – it’s all at the top, and that we haven’t effectively communicated our morals to the cons and the rest of the country and we don’t have a TV network dedicated to do that etc.
very interesant
Oh, you’re good. :]
tomorrow the americans for prosperity folks will be at the capital at noon for their rally in support of walker’s anti-worker stance
there was something recently (within the last month or so) about the diffences in r/l brains and how those brains process information
dammit, i can’t remember the details of it….
miss otis regrets
If God was compassionate…..the Fundamentalist Christian God, just so we’re clear on the language of God…
I really think it has to come down to local.
They won’t fade away because Clinton gave them the airwaves and Americans as a nation have no concept that Americans OWN those airwaves. If we could take back Taxpayer Owned Property and Monies… Pigs would fly?
Dayam, Skippy…! ;-)
Those ‘prosperity’ folk are paid Coch Brothers goons. Some have been paid a bit more to instigate a violent confrontation….
Police have been torn between the citizens and the orders of the governor.
Yet, the clear picture is of a deeping move into a police state.
They took our jarbs !
i fear tomorrow ain’t gonna be pretty — tensions are rising and now that the capital was emptied, i don’t think that fucker is gonna abide by the court order and open the doors to the public tomorrow morning. add in the busloads of kochroaches and … i am worried
hey sir — how ya doing tonight?
evening, Suzzz
hiya CT
this guy Lakoff’s a UC Berkeley prof and is working on a series of projects looking at how neurons and synapses, electric and chemical generate thought and action.
I wrote up a thing last fall, I’ll clean it up and post it as a diary the next couple days. The guts of it is that the US has never had a mommy we’ll listen to. The nation always ignored even the church when money or a war was at hand. Effective nurture is seen as ‘Nanny’ and therefore … limiting even while it makes a ton of sense…
hey ppd — how was your day today?
Unlikely. They are selling off this country quicker than lickity split. Nuclear power plants, highways, bridges, who knows what is next. Will they start selling rivers and lakes? They have sold off millions of homes to the fat cats who will raise rents soon enough. Living is gonna get very expensive in the next few years. And wages will go down.
hey, openhope — I rewrote that joke from the other night.
sweet — i’m looking forward to reading it… be sure to drop a link in the lln thread to let me know its up
Sorry about popping in and out tonite… My son heads out for Oahu tomorrow morn…! He’s the Hilo Salvation Army youth representative for the State-wide Youth Council meeting this weekend…! 8-)
balls
We are all participant/spectators to the most historical upheavel in our country since the fight for black Civil Rights went viral. It may be frightening, but the country will be a much better place to live in when all of this is settled once and for all.
not bad, Suzzz — family reunion this coming week
doing fine thanks – just reading tom tomorrow and looking around the interconnected series of in general…
I hope so.
how cool tut — you sound quite the proud papa
sure is starting to feel like the 60′s again….
It’s a moment Wis. will have to face. Concussion bombs, strobe lights, tear gas, batons, rubber bullets, water canons, dogs.
Or democracy and the common good.
If they choose to fight, I’ll sign up to be arrested in Wa state, cuz we’re next and the bills are coming onto the House and Senate floor with their Union-busting intact.
is that a good thing? i like family reunions but …
revolution’s coming from and heading toward the wrong direction, robertarend
All generations of Americans have always thrown off our oppressors eventually–whether foreign or domestic….
good observation, Suzzz — it’s getting close to saying goodbye to dad
I’m worried but I have relatives there. Hardcore Canuck immigrants second to third generation. I can’t imagine them rolling over to a wanker puppet of wankers.
there’s something happening here
Actually, It’s the empty-nest with the Missus that I appreciate more, but, it’s also a cool designation and they do do a lot within the communities…! ;-)
(((ppd))) i’m so sorry dood
Somebody said on TV tonight that Wisconsinites are a polite and laid back people, similar to Canadians–that, in fact, Wisconsin is Canada….
be careful dood, she might decide to focus all her attention on you since there are no kids around your empty nest
History always repeats itself….
hey OH — I modified that LLN joke from earlier this week:
A billionaire, a tea partier and a public employee union member are sitting around a table with a dozen cookies on a plate in the center. The billionaire pockets all twelve cookies, then leans over to the tea partier and says, “Watch out, that other guy is trying to steal your plate.”
I respectfully invite you to hear the Native American voices of the Occupation.
We’re lucky to have him for this long; recent changes have not been unexpected.
those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it…
hahahaha
can I use that?
hahahha
You don’t know me, but I’m your brother
still tis a difficult time…
Oh,man. My heart goes out to you.
peace,laughter and strength
*heh* That’s what I’m banking on…! It’s steak and potato tomorrow nite…! ;-)
Oh, if it weren’t pathetically true it’d be funny.
she’s setting ya up dood… next thing you know, you are gonna have a honey-do list
and you’ll bring a couple of flowers, right?
As much as I honor native Americans, their complete subjugation has and never will be reflected in the ultimate destiny of their conquerers…
ksp — the joke appeared elsewhere on a facebook post like this:
A billionaire, a tea partier and a public employee union member are sitting around a table with a dozen cookies on a plate in the center. The billionaire pockets eleven cookies, then leans over to the tea partier and says, “Watch out, that other guy is trying to steal part of your cookie.”
My modification seems a more accurate description of the crime scene.
We’re all Red Men on this bus.
My sister will be here tomorrow, and brother is coming next week so I have some help on the way.
oh good ppd — tis a heavy burden to carry alone….
That honey-do list did have steak and potatoes on it, right alongside the Lomi Salmon, I’ve prepped in an Isle variation of ‘Surf’n Turf’… Honest Injun…! ;-)
hahaha laughter is so fucking precious
thank you!!!
yeah we’re all part of the Wisconsin Menominy tribe now
Menominy = ‘Me No Money’
and they’d say, ‘we told you’
i hope you are right and i’m just too cynical… but just in case, don’t say i didn’t warn ya *wink wink*
We’ve been living with dad’s diagnosis since late 2009.
We are all a free people who will invest our blood, sweat and cunning to cleans our country of those within who would seek to destroy it. We doze off sometimes, but when we are awakened to what has happened while we slept, we will always set things right again….
my dad had only 4 months after his and then my stepmom passed 12 days after he did.. i think she lost her will to live after he died
God Bless, PPD…! *g* I’ll do the same when my folks do succumb to age…!
Robert, you are correct, sir!
;)
Best wishes. It’s a hard thing to deal with.
I could forsee a similar scenario with my mom and step-dad…! They live for each other, but, they also might outlive my sorry ass…! ;-)
tis about time for me to turn back into a pumpkin folks. thanks for letting me hang out with ya’ll tonight.
g’nite all
LOL. May we learn to move like a tribe!!!
Sweet dreams, Suzanne. Thanks for being here.
Pleasant Dreams, Suz…! *g*
We’re doing our best to keep mom stable even under this stress.
night all – be well
I’m kind of scared that my parents with their longevity gene will continue to decline for another 10 years of my life.
I’m not sure how far I want to take this dedicated care of your elders, on your own, scenario. It raises hard questions.
I’m worried.
Love, touch and good food when strong enough to have a meal. It’s all we have.
The rest is window dressings.
Hard times to be doing it in too, openhope…! 8-(
I wish ya the best, M’dear…! *g*
Aloha…!
Thank you, CTuttle. Most sincerely.
My dear husband and I were counting the people we knew who were taking care of elderly parents. With little or no help.
It’s a huge undercurrent of the Boomers.
Our dear friends from Finland will be horrified when they see Mom and Dad’s condition. I know they know people get old…but it’s going to be devastating for them to see such brilliant people become children without joy.
So, we’re having wine, song, food and laughter. The Cure.
p.s. we made a deal with Mom and Dad. We take care of them in their old age, they get a “green” burial and we keep collecting their Social Security as wages. Sorry. dark humor. But we all thought it was hilarious.
in a stick it to the man kind of way.
