What you won’t see on the pitcher tube. The true face of Scott Walker’s Republican Party.
Mornin’, BT, pups
Seems Americans aren’t the only ones too lazy to write their doctoral dissertations.
German Defense Minister Resigns Over Plagiarism
Ghost, do you find this shit all by yourself or through Alex Jones email alerts?
Frank Buckles, Last World War I Doughboy, Is Dead at 110
Reminds me that Hemingway was also an ambulance driver in WWI. For many years Boy Scouts used to wear the same kind of hat. I thought my dad’s was the neatest hat evah.
Hey SD! Have you seen the new companion site up at TheHungerSite family of click and help?
It’s “The Veterans Site” to help homeless vets – noticed it yesterday
SD, for this one I think he Googled “Illuminati.”
Yeah, noticed the tab when I went to Animal Rescue this morning. First thing I do after checking email in da mornin’.
I doubt if Charles Koch will hire any new people… even if his taxes stay low.
17 year old censorship blurb. No conspiracy too small for the Jones crowd. What’s next, Girl Scout cookie scandal?
Mornin’ everyone. Sun shining here in NW Indiana today and supposed to go all the way up to 43° — heat wave!
And for fans who haven’t heard, Keith Olbermann’s blog is live and he seems to be saying things he might not have been able to say on the teevee.
FOK News Channel
And Scott Walker has completely lost his state, not to mention a huge PR battle around the rest of the country.
I just hope the protests continue. Awfully tough when they’re locking people out of the capitol building and other nasty stuff.
The MSM is doing their best to turn that around for him and their corporate masters.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Idiot Walker can’t give up now, though. He’s jumped the shark and there ain’t no goin’ back.
“The government keeps giant, honeycombed hives of toddlers drugged on lithium.”
While most of the people behind the cameras and such are union folks. Gee, a strike at the networks might be just the ticket.
Morning BT & Firepups:
Sacrifices must be made.
Yep, I click through each tab every morning and know that no matter what else may happen in the day, I will have done something good for someone
For those who aren’t aware, click here for The Hunger Site. Click the button then at the “Thank You” page, after you click, just continue across the tabs at the top for the other six companions.
How transparent is that screed by Charles Koch anyway? The WSJ, from respected publication to propaganda mouthpiece in three short years.
What’s next, Girl Scout cookie scandal?
You didn’t get the memo?
Mr. Koch thinks our economic crisis is all due to too much federal and state spending? Well, Wall Street may have added to the problem. Besides, I wonder if he’s looking at what the wars are costing us.
I just looked up congress’ salaries and found this nifty table.
I doubt many folks here have gotten those kinds of raises. Anybody?
Paranoia strikes deep.
Sure wish I could get an equivalent raise every year.
Thank you, dakine! I remember seeing that site long ago but had forgotten. Bookmarked!!
Edit to add: I went there and clicked everywhere, and will post that on my FB page this morning.
Good morning all.
Well, all Murdoch was required to promise when he purchased the WSJ was that it would maintain its “editorial independence and quality” – since it had always been a right wing rag editorially, that was an easy promise for him to make.
All he did was take the mostly respected news side of the WSJ and turn it into a business version of the NY Post
Morning, Shoto. Which one? The lithium laced Th*n M*ints or the one about the severely obese man who’s suing the Girl Scouts because he ate too many cookies?
Pretty damned transparent alright. The Kochs know that the solution for the fiscal problems in this country are raising taxes on those who can afford it, (them), and closing loopholes on people who exploit them in order to pay little or no taxes, (them), and investing in this country rather than allowing people, (them), all of the privileges of living in the United States with none of the responsibilities.
Prime Minister Harper is conspicuous by his absence this morning. Heh.
Good morning demi, and all pups.
I make about 60% of what I did 15 years ago. Don’t think that actually qualifies as a raise.
She hands you a nickel, she hands you a dime,
Well, all Murdoch was required to promise when he purchased the WSJ was that it would maintain its “editorial independence and quality”
Though I imagine they laughed all of the way to the bank, (which they undoubtedly own), how stupid did the Bancroft’s have to be to believe that happy horseshit?
Dynamited Afghan Buddha statue may be saved
Dude! #31 is for you too. It’s a good thing we don’t mind eating bologna once in a while, right?
Ever notice there is no Dylan on YouTube? Lots of covers but no Dylan.
The only response to that, I guess, is fuck “them”.
Cool. That was really stupid of the Taliban.
Yes, I have. Fortunately, I have lots of Dylan on the licorice pizzas and cd’s. :)
Mr. Koch thinks our economic crisis is all due to too much federal and state spending?
Does using taxpayers’ money to bail out Wall Street banks after they nearly destroyed the economy, but before anything was asked of the banks to help make sure the economy would recover for average Americans, qualify as too much government spending?
Both, actually. The memos were surreptitiously buried in a sealed container at the grassy knoll. After being dug up and unsealed, they were mimeographed, photographed, lithographed, scanned and then strategically distributed over the Interweb Machine. If you didn’t receive the memo in a timely fashion, it means that your email is being diverted to a concrete bunker that exists 1/2 mile under the White House. See how it all ties in to the Samoa / Thin Mint alibi? Makes perfect sense when you think of it that way.
Must be. But, I’m wondering, since it was “our” money that bailed them out, where’s our certificates and bonuses?
Oh, shit, you just handed Ghost a week’s worth of research.
Thanks! Was sittin here trying to remember how many times I saw them for free or $1.50. Decided that just made me old.
They were available for a while as I did use one or two on early diaries but then I guess either Dylan or Columbia complained/filed notice so they got taken down
I remember thinking when they did that, “WTF are these religious fanatics doing?” Sorta like what I think when religious fundies in this country do their book censoring / burning exercises.
Your conspiracy vibes are in good working order this morning.
BTW, do Samoans count as a protein?
Hey, I’m just here to help. heh
Man, those were the days. Records for $2-3 at Tower Records. Free Jefferson Airplane concerts.
But, not necessarily slow. Vrooooom.
Yeah, I used to link to Masters of War then all of a sudden they were gone.
And, the Grateful Dead encouraged audience members to record their concerts. In those days, the concert tours were to encourage record sales. I think it’s the other way around these days.
Record store and book stores are hard to find anymore. We’re supposed to download, amazon, netflix and kindle everything.
Talk about feeling old.
If often took the bands most of a tour just to pay the record company back for the record production costs. I knew a couple producers in LA, Richard Duryea and Mentor Williams, and they made out like bandits.
Phil Lesh has a story about when Jerry Garcia found out about Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream. Jerry just said, ‘I know, ain’t it great?” Back when people put making money lower on their to do lists…
BTW, do Samoans count as a protein?
I’m pretty sure that’s what they put in the “operatives’” survival kits when they’re dropped into a zone to remove any trace that a conspiracy had ever taken place there.
They would let you plug in to the back of the sound board. A younger brother has thousnds of hrs of live ‘Dead. Some of very good quality.
Yup. But, they had some good times on the road, didn’t they? Road Trip!
Half Priced Books usually has a pretty good selection of vinyl in really good shape. I used to browse there often, when I could afford to do more than browse that is.
I use the independent retailers on Amazon for music and order books from my indy bookstore in town. I wouldn’t use Amazon at all if I could find the music I want elsewhere.
I knew a couple producers in LA, Richard Duryea and Mentor Williams, and they made out like bandits.
“Bandits” being the operative word here.
Fortunately, dynamiting statues of the Buddha has no effect on the Dharma of the Buddha whatsoever (just like burning books does not destroy the ideas expressed in them).
Gotta luv it.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about.
I “roadied” for Black Oak Arkansas once when they came to LA. They used all local folks. My pool cleaning partner knew one of the band members.
Teabagger v. Taliban
Richard really made out. Inherited his dad’s (Dan Duryea) property in LA and started producing music. Music business was/is such a racket.
I need to take my turn table apart. It’s not working, but I think (hope) there’s just a loose belt or sumting.
It’s always fun to watch the kids’ friends trip out over our collect of vinyls.
I doubt many folks here have gotten those kinds of raises. Anybody?
Raise? Not for the last 4 years…
Koch brothers’ patio furniture.
That’s unconscionable. (sp?)
Belts are almost impossible to find. If people weren’t so greedy, they could make money by selling replacement parts but instead they encourage the “throw away” society which the pundits then lament and blame on the consumer.
We all just Mutants of this Heah Monster
I could never really take Guns ‘n’ Roses all that seriously as every time I saw Axl Rose, I saw Jim Dandy Mangrum
You spelled it perfectly. :)
And, food distribution update. Last Friday I worked in the kitchen, making about 135 falafal patties for lunch. And, they were yummy too.
Do they even sell turntables anymore?
It could be worse — the only teaching hospital in town (which of course gets almost all the indigent patients) just stopped matching 401K contributions. They used to match 3%, so that’s tantamount to a 3% pay cut. At least where I am now they still match 5%…
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Well, it didn’t get the little squiggly red line under it, but it looked funny. Maybe I haven’t seen the word in print recently. *g*
Yep, state of the art.
OMG. I was 16 then. Was that me? I almost forget.
Yep. I bought one about seven years ago or so.
I am so against capital punishment but I really want to make an exception in this case.
Now there are three polls out there showing just how badly Walker’s screwed the pooch: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2011/03/the_morning_plum_196.html
Walker may have caused the Reagan Democrats, at long last, to come home.
Love your summation. You should be writing the closing arguments for progressive-minded attorneys. Did I just spit out a grievous oxymoron there?
The Democratic Party is not home.
We are homeless. Politically. At least for now.
We also live in an occupied land aligned with the dark force.
*Sigh* I think I’ll go to the park and sit in the sun in the company of squirrels.
I have not had time to read the entire thread yet, but will go back to do so. May I respectfully suggest that perhaps we should probe Darrell Issa. I strongly believe that we will find plenty of dirt if we probe all or any of our politicians. Happy hunting. What a waste of our money. Where are the jobs???
