The immense crowd in Tahrir is cheering louder and louder – and clearly feels that something is about to change. Of course, Mubarak’s removal is not the protesters sole demand and we’ll have to wait and see if he does leave – and if the other demands are met for full regime change.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak is anticipated to make an announcement on state television this evening; it’s not clear whether he will say he is stepping down.

It was naive of anyone to think that any executive branch would willingly give up their own power. Congress, thanks to Republican doddering, made the effort to put the slightest of brakes on that power temporarily. But they were promptly told that they endangered America, so that will be that.

Idaho is one of the most conservative states in the country–McCain carried it with over 61 percent of the vote in 2008–yet, even in this deep-red state, the people overwhelmingly support allowing individuals access to medical marijuana, according to a new poll.
