- Muammar will not go gently.
- The endgame in Wisconsin?
- Better late than never.
- Sure doesn’t sound like he’s running.
- Scott Walker, lawbreaker.
- Mitch Daniels obviously doesn’t want to be president.

Revolting:
Mornin’, BT, pups
Qaddafi is one of those who will oversee the killing of thousands of Libyans before he ends up on his palace floor full of bullet holes.
Why would anybody pay any attention to anything the Vatican says?
Not me, for sure.
Hey! Did you get a new computer or did you go to work early? Either way, great to see you here. Have your ears been burning?
On edit: Oops. Good Morning, BT and Early Pups
Walker has jumped the shark. Mitch Daniels has deserted him, the American people oppose him, the people of Wisconsin reject his proposal, he’s accepting prank calls from “David Koch” and won’t talk to actual Democrat lawmakers…
http://www.sunstateactivist.org
Just landed here and you beat me to the question!
Good morning, everyone, and welcome back SD. We missed you mightily!
Took it to Best Buy yesterday at lunch. Guy took off the access panel and said take it home, put it in the driveway and blow it out with a leaf blower. Lots of cat hair, dust and dirt. Said I didn’t have access to a leaf blower. He said stop at a gas station and use the air pump. Stopped at the Citgo on the corner where I get my gas, put 75 cents in the pump and blew it out. Took it home, used about 20 Q-tips to clean the gunk out of the processor fan housing. It’s been purring ever since.
WB SD!
From teh twitters:
and
That piece about the “compromise” in the Wisconsin Assembly is way short on details. I don’t see how that accomplishes anything at all. Sounds like the Democrats once again caving in like a mud hut in a monsoon.
They actually told you to blow it out with a leaf blower?
Good morning all. Thanks for the linkfest BT.
Welcome back SoDrag. Missed ya.
Clever. Lemmee see, the Senators are hidin’ out in Illinois and the cops go to their homes in WI. Do the WI state police catch a lot miscreants with such clever policing?
Yep. Not one, but 2 techs. Says it works great. I’m assuming they’re using the electric jobs on the low setting.
What a funny story. Not fun for you, but who woulda thunk the cats clogged the computer. Well, I know how much hair my big old dog lays down around here. A lot. Glad you’re purring again.
Maybe we should all show up in DC with leaf blowers, how about that?
The Wisconsion Gestapo making its roundup?
Governor Scott Dipshit may be facing ethics violations in addtion to other charges of breaking Wisconsin law.
Why is Gov. Walker pulling Police Officers off their important jobs of protecting the citizens of Wisconsin to clean up the mess he made by his inability to effectively run the state government?
Batten down the hatches. Here comes a sternly-worded letter.
Morning BT, Firepups.
Yo SD: Welcome back.
You should go to your nearest art supply and get a fan brush. Way easier than q-tips. Make sure you don’t touch the processor!
It was pretty funny. When he said leaf blower I said, “Are you serious?” The other guy sez, yeah, it works great. I’ll take a 75 cent repair job over a hundred bucks any day.
Hillary ClintionLady Macbeth sharpening her knife for Julian Assange.EXACTLY! I don’t see how this does anything. At all.
Actually, you can buy little cans of compressed air to do that. I’ve not used one, but our tech guys on campus do. You just take the lid off and blow the air under pressure around the parts to clean out the dust and such.
Sounds like it was the Senate, not Walker.
Don’t think I can get to the processor without removing the fan housing. Sits on top of the processor. It’s quite small really and cigarette smoke makes dust/hair adhere to everything. Easier to use a Q-tip and throw it away than get the gunk off a brush.
Oops! Something tells me that Lt. General William Caldwell is going to be unemployed soon. Maybe unemployed and in prison.
Mornng Pups,
The WI Assembly is a bit out of the game that needs to be played out in the Seante at this point. The large R majority in the Assembly isn’t really going anywhere without the Senate, but yes it would be nice to see a filibuster go until the so-called, “budget repair,” bill is quashed.
Listening to the callers on WJ this morning. It’s always “them damn unions are takin’ over” bullshit..which is exactly what the oligarchs want. Never mind the fact that the Wall Street criminals blew up the economy to the tune of $Trillions, which created all this havoc in the first place. And thanks to a bought-and-paid-for Congress and WH, these pricks walked. No indictments. No prosecutions. No supermax prison time. How can people not see this? Further, once the last vestiges of union protection are dismantled, what makes these idiots think they’re not next on the hit list? Fuckin’ morans…
Bless that tech’s heart. I love a good bargain and it’s another example of simple solutions over just throwing money at a problem.
How to clean your computer
Yep, it does. If you smoke that changes things because of it’s adherence. When I smoked, my computer suffered a similar fate. I hope you got to yours in time.
Been 2 years since I bought it. Tech guy said as dirty as it was it would take a case of cans to clean it up. We have cans at work so I’ll revert to the Navy’s Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) and clean it out once a quarter. I can use cans and Q-tip0s for that.
Try a crow bar. Hey, I’m just here to help…
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/24/AR2011022402419.html
This is outrageous!
Fan housing looks like new now. Tried givin’ up my hand rolled Turkish smokes last year.
My husband is a field service engineer for a company whose products are all computer programs and he has a small vacumn cleaner that he uses. It’s semi conductive so the static generated is grounded. That’s my science lesson for today. :)
Another Caturday tale…Welcome back, friend.
I’ll use that as a club when this one dies.
I’ve got quite a tale written up for Caturday. Sorry I wasn’t there Sunday while you had time to be “live.”
Ian Murphy, hero of the week.
heh…
Hey, to each his/her own. I’m not an anti smoking Nazi like a whole lot of ex smokers are. There are people who smoke forever and never get ill but I wasn’t one of them. And I’ve always believed that the dangers of second hand smoke were overstated to say the least.
I told her not to go to work for that guy.
Julian Assange to be extradited to Sweden
My granma smoked Camel straights for close to 50 years then switched to filters. Lived to 96.
Too late now. Lady Macbeth’s skirt is already soaked in blood.
He’s appealing. This could take months, years.
Thanks….we missed you terribly. Even Angela whined.;;)
Not so. The international arrest warrant has a very short shelf life. The British Supreme Court has to rule by April or Assange walks.
Good on Ian Murphy.
Governor Scott Walker, Dipshit of the Decade.
Thanks for this….funny how those people never learned anything about following the rules….So dull, I guess. Makes it easier to kill people.
Well, we’ll see what happens.
Yep they work great but cost a fortune at my local computer store.
Fortunately, back when I was a two-pack-a-day smoker, there weren’t any personal computers, and by the time I had one in the mid-80s I had quit smoking. When I see what a pack costs these days, I’m glad, not to mention my health is certainly better without the habit.
We buy ‘em by the case at Office Depot. Got a couple floatin’ around my office.
Since they skipped across the state line Thursday to block a Republican budget plan, the 14 Wisconsin Democrats have gone into survival mode in Illinois, doing small loads of laundry and eating “whatever we can get our hands on.”
“Each day brings its own challenges,” said Sen. Spencer Coggs, D-Milwaukee, by telephone. “Somebody will need an electric shaver or somebody will need provisions.”
Coggs has had to purchase underwear, socks and T-shirts. His wife brought him more clothes over the weekend. Sen. Julie Lassa, D-Stevens Point, needed more contact lens solution.
“It’s just roughing it, like staying in a college dorm all over again,” Coggs said. “It’s sort of like being a refugee.”
On the smoking thing though, I gotta add, my mother’s grandmother smoked her whole life and lived past 100 but it killed my mom at 63. I think it’s the additives in factory made cigarettes that kills the most people. Phosphorous for example. It can’t be good to inhale burning phosphorous in any amount.
There was a great story about pizza being provided. A small shop sent some over, then folks from all around started calling in paid and delivered. Just lovely.
Yep, me too! And I just quit in 2006 but the price has already gone way up. Easier for legislatures to tax smokers than to tax the people who can afford it.
Hand rolled American Spirits here. No additives. And, only outside.
The Pizza That Ate Wisconsin
I haven’t had time to surf much this morning, but the two articles I read (linked in the past thread, I think) didn’t mention the dirty trick Walker was cooking up to trick the lawmakers back to the house so they could hold a vote. Somehow other than the Koch fealty, that seems to me to be the important nugget in the conversation. I was truly hoping the story would bring Walker down, but apparently it’s being airbrushed.
Mike Taibbi reported there was a wild rumor that Dems were sneaking back into WI to sleep, so gov sent cops to their homes this a.m.
I’m with Donny Deutsch on this one: chilling.
Even more chilling, how blase the rest of the Joes are about such tactics.
I buy tobacco in bulk. Fresh, premium Turkish blended with a little Virginia burley to make it burn a little hotter. No chemicals, no additives, no fillers. Hand roller makes regular size straights.
I noted than glaring omission as well. Particularly telling when the Isikoff brand left it out. So much for NBC being the gold standard. Gee, thanks, Comcast. Crony billionaires stick together?
Do you use a roller? Do you put a filter in? We do.
Ian’s Pizza suspending all deliveries except to protesters. Ian Murhphy pwning Walker with his Koch phone call.
Looks like we have some good Ians around.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Nice to be back. Thanks, everybody.

What is the dirty trick? Sure I missed it.
Scott Fitzgerald is the Majority Leader of the Wisconsin Senate. His brother, Jeff Fitzgerald, is the Speaker of the Wisconsin House of Represenatives. Their father, Stephen Fitzgerald, has been appointed head of the Wisconsin State Troopers.
http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/opinion/editorial/article_b0884557-ba54-5230-90f9-5eab74dffc25.html
Now, Scott Fitzgerald has the State Troopers, led by his father, explicitly trying to intimidate the families of the Democratic Senators.
Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could but since cigarette tobacco can’t be mailed to individuals the company I use has changed the cut to a pipe cut. I have to manicure it a bit but with the injector I used to use it doesn’t make a very good cig with that cut so I switched to a 70mm hand roller. Cut my smoking by 2/3.
It was yesterday during the fake David Koch phone call that Walker admitted that he was considering a plan to lure the Democrats back into town to “negotiate” and then the Republicans can consider that a “session” of the Senate and vote for passage of the union busting bill, even if the Democrats leave again. I put negotiate in quotes because Walker was clear that it was just the bait he would use to get them back and he had no intention of actually negotiating.
He decertified public sector unions when he took office. It didn’t go well.
Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin
He’s running out of time. This bill has to pass by tomorrow, though I don’t see how failure to pass a “budget fix” is going to stop them attaching the same kind of abomination to just about any bill in the future.
Psy-ops against US Senators? No, couldn’t possibly happen here,
Aside from handing over sole authority to Walker to sell public assets with no bid processes and make sole determinations of what assets qualify for firesale dumping (not just power plants) and handing Walker sole authority to set eligibility requirements for public safety net programs for seniors, unemployed and children, Walker’s main point with the so called “budget repair bill” is to get it passed before he releases the details of his budget for the next biennium.
Representative Mark Pocan explains Walkers fun with budget numbers that shows the projected $3.6B is bogus and would only occur if all new requests for state agency funding were granted in their entirety.
Christian hypocracy at its finest.
The damn mafia has enough decency not to involve families in their turf wars. This makes it clear that the Wisconsin GOP does not.
Yeah, I linked to that @26.
Gas prices soar overnight amid Libya unrest
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2011/02/24/gas-prices-soar698.html
So gas from Canada, has to go up, because of what happens in Libya. In other news, the sun rose today, so gas prices have to spike. Later the moon will be out, so gas prices have to spike.
WikiLeaks Founder to Be Extradited: British judge rules that Julian Assange must be sent to Sweden to face rape and other allegations.
Oh hell no they don’t. Being a politician means being a narcissist and being a Republican means being a little bit of a sociopath. Not a good combination.
I love it!! I hope he has to step down.
Today Scot Walker thinks of himself as the “King of Wisconsin.” Tomorrow he fancies himself “King of the World.”
Apparently the Republicons want to hold the families of Democratic senators hostage.
Back in 2000, when the prices first spiked to levels where they’ve been at ever since, candidate George W. Bush promised to get his OPEC friends to increase production:
The whole thing is bullshit scam. I’ve been amazed that the American people just took it and continued to take it and are still taking it so quietly.
Canada way outproduces Libya in oil production. Why would anything like a fart in Libya, affect gas prices in Canada? Damn right it’s a scam. Yet, people follow along and buy their BS. Even IF Libyan oil was imported to Canada, it would take weeks for an increase in price to actually affect pump prices. It’s unbelievable really.
Speculators in the futures market is a major reason.
Don’t forget Jeffery Plale, Walker’s new state facilities manager, ($90K a year plus working on another state pension) former Democratic Senator who voted against his party to quash the Doyle lame duck passage of the union contract that had been in negotiations for 18 months previous. The unions were giving up $100M, but Walker isn’t going to get that much from them anymore unless he busts them.
Then there is real estate developer, DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp and her assistants already in place for the firesale and environmental havoc about to be reeked.
BTW, a great web-site for Wisconsinites to follow in those last two links.
When you get extensions of the Bush era tax cuts you have to do something with all that “job producing,” extra cash. /s
Well, I’m off to distribute loaves. Have a safe and gentle day all.
Communion should be reserved for the perv priests.
What are they going to do? Take the families hostage? I wouldn’t put it past the Governor.
You got to learn some basic economics. The price of oil is set in the world market. Neither Libya nor Canada affect it. What is happening is that there has been a rise in uncertainty owing to the disturbances in a significant producing country, and hedgers are buying futures to give them some insurance of possible increases. The futures price and the spot price are connected by the interest rate. The futures price has risen. This has absolutely nothing to do with current production. Now be a good boy and go back to your books.
*g*
No. The priests who’ve done so much harm to the Church should be denied communion.
Maybe Edward Peters, adviser to the Vatican’s highest court and professor at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, should be less worried about someone like Cuomo than about the Church’s enemies within.
Generally, prices aren’t affected only by hedgers buying futures.
First of all, don’t get sanctimonious with me. I’ve probably forgot more than most of the “knowitalls” on blogs ever knew. Second, did I say anywhere, that I believed this claptrap excuse? No. Thirdly, there is a reason why progressives (or fake ones as the case may be) are thought of in much the same way as politicians–you just showed it. Now if you don’t understand, be a good boy and go back and read your response. And finally, oh thank the Gawds that someone with obviously so much insight and intellect pointed out those rock solid facts for me. Heeyuck. Now I might be able to figur out how to unlock my trailer.
Hilarious, wasn’t it? Clap louder. Jeebus, FDL is starting to look more like Kos everyday.
Really? Wow, just wow. Thanks for enlightening me.
Speaking of sanctimonious.
