  • GOPers still love big government.
  • Is Berlusconi finally going down?
  • Will Haley Barbour denounce a racist domestic terrorist?
  • Reagan and reality.
  • Republicans love socialized medicine — when it’s for them.

Haley Barbour has no conscience. He is prepping his doomed presidential run and does not want to be seen as crossing the tea party racists, because thy are quite literally the only remaining core of the GOP. The party has kicked out everyone else. All that’s left is KKK apologists and kooky Ron Paul types hat want to dissolve the union and go back to gold…

Nobody could have ever seen this coming:

Tens of thousands of fishermen, oyster shuckers, business owners, hotel operators and hairdressers still await payment. Many others whose claims have been turned down question the evenhandedness. And without the data to determine who is right, attorneys general and members of Congress question the openness.

That’s because Obama and big (insert industry/corporation here) are BFFs.

Good morning.

After reading online news about how prices of everything will rise fairly drastically by the fall because of the economy being so damn robust, and then reading the highlights of Obama’s budget proposals, one has just one question to ask. Who are the Dems going to run in 2012 on the Presidential ticket? The Reps have Obama, so who are the Dems going to have? And more questions, why are we libs/progs STILL running this “oh my Gawd, be afeared of the evil Republicans” strategy all over the internet? Whatever happened to Nancy Pelosi and the Dems in Congress?

Corporations are saying that their profit margins have to increase this year. I agree with you, it will be an ugly year for all. My snark was that the MSM is doing the reporting on this. They aren’t stating price increases due to drought, speculating, or anything like that. They are saying the reason for these huge spikes in prices, are corporations going back to the profits formula, what is it 34% or something like that? Economists have been flapping for years how there is no inflation, even though they are all wrong. When your wages are stagnant, or declining in most cases, and prices rising, is that not inflation? So how could it be close to zero for the last decade, when most people actually make less and pay at least the same for what they need?

There’s nothing fishy about this?

All within two hours:

On the way back to the hotel, he picked up the Washington Star. Hinckley noticed the President’s schedule, on page A-4, indicating that Reagan would be speaking to a labor convention at the Washingon Hilton in just a couple of hours. Hinckley showered, took Valium to calm himself, loaded his twenty-two with exploding Devastator bullets purchased nine months earlier at a pawn shop in Lubbock, then wrote a letter to Jodie Foster.

Read the letter. It is so well written, it could have been written by William Shakespeare. By a first year college dropout, not so much.

Wisconsin Gov Emperor Scott Walker will break tradition and not deliver his State Budget Address in the Legislative chambers but in a local agriculture business warehouse. Private security measures or control of public access into the capitol building or not enough room for his cronies? The questions remain unanswered so far as to why.

Mississippi House has 122 members, 68 Dems and 54 Repubs.
Mississippi Senate has 52 members, 26 Repubs, 25 Dems and 1 vacancy.

http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Mississippi_House_of_Representatives
http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Mississippi_Senate

So, there are sufficient Dems in the House to kill any attempt to create a tag honoring Nathan Bedford Forrest. Mississippi has a Forrest County, (Hattiesburg is the county seat) named in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest, and carved out of an existing county in 1908.

Forrest died in 1877. Reconstruction ended and Union troops withdrew from the South as part of the bargain resolving the Presidential election of 1876.

If Obama wins 2012, it would be a miracle on his part. So why not put your eggs in the other basket? What is there to lose? There is already a Rethuglican in the White House. The South Dakota House is considering a bill that could “make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions.” The GOP-backed bill, which passed out of committee, would alter that state’s definition of justifiable homicide to allow killing if committed by a person “while resisting an attempt to harm” that person’s unborn child or the unborn child of a person’s spouse, partner, parent, or child.

Maybe Hinkley didn’t write it in two hours. Maybe, obsessed with Jodie Foster, he had written it over a period of months.

Actually, it isn’t all that well written. You must have pretty low standards.

That link says the reason to primary Obama is the war in Afghanistan and his refusal to cut back the welfare payments to the Military Industrial folk – they don’t include cutting the Pentagon manpower in half – or indeed the 30 other reasons I list out – including the death of health reform and its replacement by health ins “reform” that doesn’t even include a public option.

But I am told that the Black Caucus has let it be known that primarying Obama would be considered a racist act – it is good to be half white/haff white – at least in this case.
