Little Feat – Dixie Chicken
That Guy sent me this most excellent Ry Cooder clip…
Ry Cooder – Jesus On The Mainline
I had never seen an electric mandolin before…!
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Aloha and Congrats, CE…! ;-)
I skipped the Grammys tonight because the “Vince Gill Live at the Ryman” concert was on HDNET and I knew where the better music was going to be.
Lady GOO GOO….FUCK HER!
http://www.emando.com/ The resource for electric mandolins.
Hey CT! We had such warming today that all the snow fell off the awnings and made a thunderous noise!
Jason Bieber is on now here in the Isles…! *gah*
Aloha, TG, loved that Cooder…! ;-)
Aloha, marksb…! Welcome to LLN…!
Tolerance for ‘the differently gifted’ is a very American quality.
Why, I almost got someone to marry me once.
Hey Tuttle, Hi Chris!
I’m going to have a bunch of Vince Gill sometime this week. I’ll be using technology. :-)
Vinnie is the best guitar player in the world. Just awesome.
Hey Newt, given a choice between the dogpiles on the Grammys or Vince Gill, I’ll take Vinnie every time.
Hi everyone. Quick drive by, I have a conference call to be on tomorrow at 8:30, and want to be in Sunnyvale before then.
…I almost got someone to marry me once…
LMAO…! Aloha, newt…! ;-)
My daughters (22 & 12) are watching and laughing and singing along. Funny.
Music–the other night we saw Joshua Bell play his $4M Stradivarius fiddle. Amazing, filling the hall with a three hundred year old small un-amplified acoustic instrument. The Brahms and Schubert were very good, but the Grieg was transcendent.
I was gonna say ‘weirdos’ instead of ‘the differently gifted’, but it’s too wide a net.
Thanks. I used to hang out here four years ago or so, but times got really busy. Still busy, but I’ve decided to spend a bit more time with the quality folks at the Lake.
Dude, it’s about to be real.
Mark, sometime watch a documentary called “Before the Music DIes.” Then play it for your daughters and give them a couple Vince Gill records.
“Eastwood MandoCaster Guitar” – demo by Wendell Ferguson
Hello but g’niters, all!
I always wanted to hear some bluegrass played on a Stradivarius. I think it’d sound awesome.
newt, man … MrCE and I will celebrate on Tuesday, 36 years of marriage. Wow.
Aloha and Aloha…! Oh, and congrats, wmd…! *g*
Now that’s how the adults do it. Well done.
You’re not cooking, are you? He’s taking you out, right?
ooh, i love ry cooder *swoons*
ce, congrats! that is awesome.
Great post on the PA chaos, CT.
Just back from a Valentines Day eve dinner with Ms ET and another couple. 14 degrees F, blowing 35, gusting 55.
Yeah, so far it has just been internal communication, tomorrow I’ll be listening to people outside the company about their engineering issues.
I did too, don’t know why I’d never heard it. I love the song.
This one is the first version I heard…see what you think.
We had a modest bash last night for his 60th bday. Lots of toasts and such. We will go Tuesday, just the two of us, to a local French place.
Time for me to get some sleep. Good night all, and thanks for the good wishes. I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Kind of fun to be pumped for my commute
Mahalo, CE, (congrats too) that reminded me…!
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and since I’ve got the honors, I’d like to ask ya’ll what your ‘love song’ was… For instance, the better half’s and mine, (20 yrs and counting) is Atlantic Starr’s Always…
Aloha, ndfg…! ;-)
Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, rendered by Carol Channing.
Aloha, and that was pretty cool, Margot…!
*heh* And are ya still married…? Not that it matters…! ;-)
David Bowie. here he is:
*heh* just faved that clip…! Just never thought of it as a ‘love song’…! Teen angst anthem maybe, but…
We bought the DVD “Forsyth Saga” and watched it this weekend. So emotional! I cried buckets.
Blame Nixon my dear!
*heh* Aloha Suz…! Am I the only romantic love song sop amongst ya’ll…? ;-)
There was a 67 year old man doing a Mick Jagger impression on my teevee just now. He was pretty good.
Dylan was just on here… Man, his voice got a heckuva lot gravelier…!
Better than at least one of his Grammy appearances – can’t recall the year – when he was non compos mentis drunk.
This song always gave me the goosebumps…! ;-)
This has been my favorite for a long time:
Aloha, PPD…! How’s Cali tonite…?
Any and all Beatles songs rule…! ;-)
The guy is 140 pounds of nothing but attitude. Amazing.
hiya CT, rain’s coming our way from your neck of the woods
Was Air Supply too late for most of ya’ll…? ;-)
That Pineapple Express…! Btw, virtually every part of the Isles got hit with that storm, but, Hilo town…! The wettest ‘City’ in the US…! Go figure…!
Too late for me…it’s one of many ’80s songs that comes on the local classic rock station and my son asks who sang that, and I never know.
I actually saw them live in Korea on a USO tour in ’91, in basically a School Gym…! They have awesome voices…! ;-)
From The Addams Family:
[Wednesday is hooking up an electric chair]
Wednesday: Pugsley, sit in the chair.
Wednesday: So we can play a game.
Pugsley: What game?
Wednesday: [strapping him in] It’s called, “Is There a God?”
*heh* Aloha, robert…!
Evening. Nat king Cole-when i fall in love. Now i love me some R+B but his voice is just magic.
Aloha, homeroid… Nat sure did have a voice…!
Strange, but great, to see Mick Jagger take the stage of the Grammys, but I find myself vividly remembering a late 60s interview when young Jagger scorned the idea of still rocking in his old age….
Dayam, Barbara Streisand still has a voice…!
yeah, but ol’ Kristofferson appeared to struggle with his own voice and ability to read the telepromter.
Everyday is valentines day. And that was the version i listened to before i wrote. Off to the land of nod but first some Derrik Trucks-Sahib Teri Bandi.
I didn’t realize that Bruno Mars was a Hawaiian product…!
Hey folks. My musical tastes are fairly narrow. I do like lady Gaga. My niece told me about her. I was astonished by her musicality. Her lyrics are very dark. I kind of like that.
I thank ya’ll for spending some time here tonite…! I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu…! Aloha Oe…! *g*
My first exposure to her was the now infamous video escapade. I was almost embarrassed to discover that I like her.
nite you guys
Lowell says Aloha
