Hey everybody Obama’s coming to the PDX area (Hillsboro, OR) next week. From “Obama Visits Oregon Next Week,” WWeek.Com, Feb. 11, 2011):
This afternoon President Obama’s office announced he will come to Oregon next week to talk about education during a visit to Intel in Hillsboro. And that visit creates two interesting local questions for political obsessives about whether a couple elected officials will be around to greet the president on Friday, Feb. 18.

From “Oregon Congressman Who Met Mubarak Praises Dictator’s Ouster” (WWeek.Com, Feb. 11, 2011)

“PIFF Gets Spiffy” is about the new and improved Portland International Film Festival. Looks like some great films coming out.
Yep– looks like 2 small tremors today but southeast of here.
There’s some good stuff here. Right Suzanne?
Had the very heartfelt honor of sitting next to the Doc at about 10 feet aaway with a gig he did with his son…
just Nirvana dood! The man oozed goodness and sweet vibe!
i wouldn’t go back to california unless i had no other choice. i love it — clean air, nice people, and i can afford to live here.

Fine, fine pickin . . . 1991 . . .
Now that sounds like a great film fest…I love film fests!
*heh* Boogie Jam…!
Yeh, I hear ya . . . got to see Merle N Doc about 10 times in the 70′s/80′s in SF Bay Area.
N I got to shake and greet both once . . . I was quaking in my boots when I did.
My heroes . . . sigh.
MAJOR special jam there Suz! What a great cast of musician genius.
CT now ya got me on a late nite music bent. Thanks.
Looks like some seriously good stuff … esp. Silent Souls and Incendies.
speaking of crushed grape… had a muscadine frostee (or some-such) at the farmers mkt couple of weeks ago. Big time delish.
Come summer I may look into muscadine/scuppernong ice in my machine. I’ve always just associated them with uber-cheap wine.
trey and warren (music starts at 2:08 in)
hey homeroid — how ya doing tonight?
here’s some dixie chicken!! Jam on!
hey sunny — how was your day? didja ever figure out that cake?
Sure just blame me…! ;-)
Aloha, homeroid…! How’s the frozen tundra tonite…?
evening, firegods
I never got to see Moby Grape . . . I can only console myself in that I once saw a reunion in the late 70′s in SF at I think Hotel Utah, of the original Beau Brummels . . . Sal Valentino, Ron and the boys.
Lord THAT was fine (harmony).
Moby Grape . . . they were incredible and I have a copy of the album with the finger extended . . . forget who;s finger it was . . . great album.
Listen My Friends (Ohama).

Caught them at Winterland, SF…back in the daze when you saw 2 or 3 major bands and could dance, wiggle, boogie, to your hearts content and nobody said shit to ya!

“Washington County Sheriff Wants Portland in JTTF” (WWeek.Com, Feb. 11, 2011). “Portland City Council will hold a lengthy work session on Tues. Feb. 15 beginning at 9:30 am on the question of whether to rejoin the Joint Terrorism Task Force.” Thanks but no thanks, Washington County.

Hiya Suzzz, hey mzchief
KIllin me, I got to see them live n I NEVER thought I would. It was ’05.

How did I miss hearing him? Fantastic.
another jams fav by SRV

I did my share of time at Fillmore, Winterland, and more.
Then.
*G*
I missed The Grape somehow . . . course I was only 14 or so when they were doing SF Ballrooms . . . in ’67.
By 15 I could drive and I was up there every weekend, Family Dog, Playland, Filmore as it changed, Winterland as it was held, n more.
A few venues I missed were The Chalet on The Peninsula, Longshoreman’s Hall . . . the places where Airplane and Janis jammed . . in Berkeley . . . Darby N Grace Slick . . . forget the name.
I missed some, caught a LOT in my early youth . . .*G*
Pumpkin time. ‘Niters Fire Pups.

g’nite ed
Nice day thanks. Meeting with painters tomorrow. Odors getting to me. Dunno how much is fire v. eau d’tobacco. Either way, paint and carpet gotta be done.
Currently avoiding the pink lemonade cake quest. Who could have guessed butter, whipped cream and lemon juice are highly addictive ;-)
Heh . . . . Low Sparks, one of the best. I like the John Barleycorn, brutal lyrics and story . .
*G*
Hiya pups! Ms ET back from week in the Alaska bush. Happy to see her. Getting colder outside, though.
ugh — paint and carpet — that’s gonna take some scheduling. i had the best raspberry pink lemonade at jen’s baby shower. had frozen raspberries and lemon slices and the flavor was wow!
hey et — how was your day today?
Heh!
1) Comment about Michael Shreeves, drummer for Crelos at the time. 19 or so and a monster.
2) COmment about Avalon Ballroom . . . yeah been there done that, and closed down by cops. I was 15 likely.
Great vid! *G*
More heh . .
Jerry N Jorma playin a lot of rhythm and back up to Carlos . . . what a vid, they were kids.
soul sacrifice
Productive. Getting going on writing Volcano Woman II. A lot of house cleaning. Watching Egypt trying to end a bad period, sometimes crying as I watched.
Oh I have a lemonade pie recipe somewhere….it’s really good
Heh, they gave Cassidy a LONG bass solo at end . . . sweet!
(to Suz@102)
i went to bed thinking the worst after the military statement — and woke up to joyful news.
Actually it’s a great winter. Not like on the east coast where they have lots of snow and rain. My older bro had to shovel his roof last week and blew out his stent in his leg. Now he has to face 3-4hunthou in bypass or cut off his leg. All because he don’t have insurance. USA USA Best medical in the world. Forgot to add that that is in Mass where they have mandatory ins.
Mic Taylor N KEITH DON’T GO!
Keith was busted for heroin then or around that time. N of course, Mic Taylor didn’t stay with the band for too long, but really helped them a lot.
SIgh.
oh dayam.. i’m so sorry — dayam
Love ‘em and hug ‘em close hoss . . . *G*
Yeah, Michael Shreeves and Neil Shaun’s break out party.
Kids. Neil was 16 at the time and had just left our hi school in San Mateo to tour with Carlos.
I was 17 or 18. Wild.
*G*
Very true…he has to have that surgery, and we need this to be a right, not something you put on a wish list, for heaven’s sake.
Got that right.
back to grape
Thinking of coming down to check out your scooters. Next clam tides, maybe.
Ok.
Before I go ‘thud’ I gotta say, Shreeve’s remains one of the best rock drummers of all time IMHO . . . despite his short stay in the biz.
He holds his stix like a jazz drummer (see how Moon holds his, not jazz) and he does things that Keith Moon and John Bonham don’t do.
N he’s just incredible at age 19 in that vid.
Suz knows.
N I *bow*
*G*
*bows*
Quick hello pups, Suz, visiting with my brother and home late.
Lemonade pie!!!! mmmmmmm.
Surely a pie addiction is much healthier than a cake addiction :0
hey nonq — how was your visit?
Killer vid . . . seen it . . . great to see it again.
Thanks lady, ya made my Friday along with the Pups.
Love this town, bless ya all and now good night one and all.
N if yer out tonite, and on yer bike, wear white.
Evenin all . .
-Mic Jagger, Something Happened Here, Between The Buttons
(don’t ask how I recall these things and can’t remember my name at times)
*G*
*poof*
Parade and bike races on the lake Saturday. I am easy to find at the yurt village. Tide books in the truck so when ever.
g’nite larue
Sounds fabulous.
Do you think it was fresh lemons? I’ve always envied left coasters access to meyer lemons… not sure I’ve ever tasted one.
Always good with my bro, we have a couple of days worth of activities, before he heads home. Missed Swopa and our WI, “Moran,” in Chief, though. They didn’t to him the justice he deserves.
it was fresh lemon slices along with the frozen raspberries but i don’t know if the lemonade itself was made with fresh. i’m thinking not since it was a pink lemonade mixed with a raspberry lemonade.
your new gov sounds like a total fucktard
Heh, one last h/t to Suz for that last Moby Grape vid.
8:05, the second tune on the show.
One of the greatest heartfelt lost love songs of any teen angst ever.
8:05, . . . . I guess yer leavin good by . . .
*sniff*
glad ya liked it dood *handing ya some tissue*
That is so wrong :-(
Well some state needs to have the baddest apple, hopefully our turn won’t last too long. He created two whole new jobs related to his election promise of 250K. Two heavy-weight additional security personnel for himself.
I had a nice day, took my therapy kitten to the old folks home for a visit and brightened quite a few faces. I think I enjoy it as much as anyone.
’bout time for me to turn back into a pumpkin. thanks for letting me hang out with ya and jam tonight.
g’nite all
Heh. Can’t wait to get there. March 20-21 looks good – minus 3.8 and 4.4.
3.8-4.4 You must go across the bay. the clams will be abundant. Ninilchik will be over run with people. On those tides there are butter clams on the spit just east of the octagon house way way out.
Even mandated insurance wont fix.
butter clams – yum!
I’m sure there are Satanic messages in these Muppet grooves. :)
crackpottery
Thanks for the TEETH, Suzanne – sorry I missed the opening comments !
Best. Muppet. Thread. Ever.
It never frigging ends. Even Job eventually got barfed out by the whale. When will it be our time?
Um, story goes that it was Jonah in the whale. Job pulled his hair and wrenched his coat.
…and Daniel slew Goliath. luv those mix-n-match bible metaphors.
