Reducing the deficit in FL by cutting taxes.

Yeah, and as part of that Gov Scottdemort is going to create jobs in the state by cutting over 8K jobs:

And some 8,700 jobs would be eliminated, with the greatest numbers coming from children and family services and corrections.

I don’t necessarily mind the cuts to corrections so much but he’s playing with a bit of fire otherwise

Amid all the glowing over the memory of Reagan, here is one tidbit that is never remembered. From a poster at Raw Story:

Don’t forget the day Reagan was shot Neil Bush was supposed to have lunch with Hinckley’s brother. The Bush’s and Hinckley’s were friends. They even vacationed together. The Hinckley’s donated money to Bush’s campaign. When someone is shot look to who benefits the most. I’d say going from VP to President is the person who benefits the most.

Where are Rick Scott’s priorities? He proposes cutting corporate taxes by a billion dollars despite the fact that they are already among the lowest in the nation and have never been an obstacle to corporations. That adds to Florida’s massive GOP-created deficit that is only going to be able to be paid off with federal aid.

But $6 million for 53 state parks, that’s “waste” that needs to be closed and sold off. Poor residents? They don’t need health care. Unbelievable…

Obama challenged business leaders to ramp up their hiring, bring jobs back from overseas and quit sitting on such large stockpiles of cash.

Reading Michael Perino’s The Hellhound of Wall Street. Obama could be mistaken for a clone of Herbert Hoover, exhorting the swindlers to “knock off the short selling.”

The second half of the poster’s comment. Also a coinkydink. Move along, move along.

And add to that on 9/11 George Bush (elder) was actually having breakfast with Osama Bin Laden’s brother. The Bin Laden’s donated over a billion dollars to Bush enterprises over the years before 9/11. Not reported was the fact George W. actually knew Osama Bin Laden. The Bin Laden family were the primary investors in his early businesses all of which he ran into the ground. And yet they kept funding him, losing money.

FL doesn’t have a monopoly on dumb. WI Governor Scott Walker has cut business taxes, driving up the projected deficit which he may actually be further cooking the projections for, and is pitting the poor and underemployed who are using Badger-care medical services, against state workers by threats to cut their health care and pensions by reducing the amount that the state contributes using fear of the deficit to the future of the state. Tax cuts for the corporations balanced on the backs of the poor and the almost middle class state workers.

Walker’s staffed the WI DNR with real estate developers and “deficit reducing, cost savings,” are being contemplated by not enforcing, I believe EPA regulations, about disinfecting municipal water supplies. Either he can kill off a bunch of people or get their immune systems toughened up a bit or some fantasy. Turning away $800M for jobs and rail because he claimed the state could not afford future rail maintenance costs, apparently potential mass public health problems won’t cost the state a dime.

Yeah, that’s the impression I got. The headline says “Court Orders Obama to Resign in 90 Days” but the “court” is nothing more than a kangaroo “trial” performed by a bunch of right wing plastic talking heads, (the “prosecutor” is a radio show host), but the headline doesn’t use quotes or any language to convey that it was anything but a duly authorized and appointed court that made that “finding”. If I wanted bullshit disguised as news, I’d read the Onion which at least is funny.

That wingnut fight

I know that the temptation for progressives in this epic battle between Kristol and Beck over who’s the dumbest, is to sit on the sidelines and say they’re both right.

But I have to admit that I have to sympathize with Kristol on this one. Here the guy has spent an entire lifetime working diligently to perfect the craftsmanship of exploiting paranoid foreign policy ideas for their political benefit. It’s a schtick he learned from his father, and he preactically has a hereditary right to the title of king of delusions.

But then this upstart comes along, a complete natural at paranoid schizophrenia, who uses none of the care and art a Kristol lavishes on the careful dance of espousing a crazy world-view from an affect of elegant intellectual detachment, but who just projects as an actual schizophrenic whose harangues one might cross the street to avoid — and this upstart walks away with the ratings and leaves the careful crafstman in the shade.

It’s a tragedy worthy of Shakespeare. Well, at least Shaffer, with Kristol’s plodding Salieri to Beck’s brilliant but shallow Mozart. Or you could say it’s like Sarah Bernhardt’s stylized acting being upstaged by the naturalistic Eleanor Duze.

Unfortunately, this is 2011 and the US of A, so there’s no Shakespeare around to give this battle it’s due, nor even a Shaffer. And neither Sarah nor La Duze is available to play either of our heroes.

What we’ve got is Disney. Here’s a brief excerpt from their upcoming claymation Snow White Nation and the Seven Jihadis:

Evil Drama Queen Kristol
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who’s the dumbest of them all?”

Magic Mirror(TM) ratings service
“Glenn Beck is still dumbest in the land.
The heart of a pig you hold in your hand.”

I won’t be able to get CurrentTV, so hopefully there still will be videos of his show online. After all, I only watched Rachel and KO on MSNBC, and after Comcast went digital I watched them both online. My kids bought me a Roku for my birthday so I can get Rachel (same stream as on my laptop) on my TV. (Don’t tell my kids, but I was perfectly happy getting the streams on my laptop. I guess they can’t imagine anyone not caring a whit about TV.)

Oh, and I can get Netflix movies on the Roku — those available for instant play. Guess that’s something…

The hoo-hah over Christine Aguilera’s rendition of the National Anthem is just more Kabuki Show imo. Yeah yeah, she messed up a few of the words… so effen what? I only saw parts of her singing (as I wandered around the house doing chores). Seemed to me that her singing was heart-felt enough. I could really give a crap whether her singing voice is up to par or not.

It’s clear that Rupert Murdoch was out to grab younger people’s eyeballs to watch the game. The line up of performers both before the game and at halftime are proof of that. Plus the majority of commercials were aimed at the 12 – 32 year old male group, imo.

Whatever… it’s a frackin’ sports game. Get over it (said rhetorically).
