Suze! Pups!
ndfg! how ya doing tonight?
SoozToon…SuzTune…SuzToon!
hey newton — how’s the west bay tonight?
fine, as long as i don’t think about Asshat Reagan the Undead. howsabout you?
Pretty good, getting ready for a leisurely afternoon of not watching 6 hours of pre-game NFL lovefest.
Just the game, ma’am. Just the game.
Yourself?
second day in a row that i’ve woke up with a headache… sorta sinusy feeling headache. and i’m sneezing.
i think i got exposed to some ca germ or something on the trip. my first ex (whose house we stayed at) had a cold …
not planning on watching the game — i hear its the perfect time to go shopping since the stores are empty but i spent all my mad money on jen’s shower gifts… i think maybe i’ll putz around the house and finish cleaning the kitchen.
or not. :)
Aloha, Suz…! Mama Mia…! First time I’ve seen it…! Kind of corny in some spots, but, dayam it’s a cool flick…! ;-)
Btw, Peirce Brosnan cannot sing…! 8-(
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? jen say the play and loved it… i’m not a big abba fan
Take a nice, long nap. Naps are good m’kay? If you take naps, you’re good!
bummer :( winter-time traveling sure seems to be the prime time to catch bugs.
yoo hoo…
you got that right newt… just the actual frigging game….
hey thatguy — i’ve not taken a nap in a long time. i’ve found not getting up until after the crack of noon reduced the need :)
how ya doing tonight?
hey kelly — how’s denver tonight?
hey nahant — how’s deadwood city tonight?
Hey lady – just quit snowing.
there is a huge no-bug factor to being a semi hermit — i’ve noticed i have far fewer colds and such after retiring — a lot less contact with other folks…
still enjoying the Eichler.. Oh and it is still in the 60′s!!! Can you frigging believe it???
Back in a bit – phone rang, must talk!
next year, it will be all week long.
a-hole Roger Goodell will then try to have February declared “NFL Month”
and so on, and so on…
thank’s for your support kelly but i can’t do it because someone else tells me to
it will happen when it is the right time for me to do so
FUCK.. i’m sorry, i totally misread your comment — my apologizes.. i read it as quit smoking.. not quit snowing
Always loved those Swedes…! ;-)
Another great day in paradise…! Farmer’s Market was packed today, in fact, all of Downtown was pure pandemonium…!
dammit, i hate it when i fuck up like that
stocking up for the big game, eh
’twas cute. You had me wondering how often you snowed.
‘evenin’, all-
Back to the cartoon. Someone tell me her name isn’t Snagglepussy….
hey rond — how’s the great swamp tonight?
Shit happens Suz to the best of us..
Funny.
Perturbed at all the Reagan bullshit. He was a fucking asshole, a brain-dead puppet and he ruined America.
And I want to play guitar as well as Vince Gill does.
hey sickoftheus — welcome to late late nite — per the bcdb her name is Lilah Lion
how ya doing tonight?
hey gw — how’s texas tonight?
65 and rainy. My sympathies-I am currently having to explain to someone that what they think is support and encouragement is pressure and stress to me. I’ll quit as soon as I can.
which gill song would ya play first if ya could dood?
thanks nahant — waiting for kelly to get off the phone and back on the thread to see my apology
geez, is my face red….
No prob. I get “mis-read” a ton.
I’m half the asshole people think I am, and twice the advocate people don’t think I am.
I’m used to it.
Someone FINALLY turned off the icebox!
I’ll be back in a bit – the cartoon’s SNAGGED my attention.
10 Things Conservatives Don’t Want You To Know About Ronald Reagan
Just for You TG!!
i’m a firm believer that when its right, i will be able to do so.
went almost 72 hours without on the trip — but i turned into such a raging flaming bitch — wasn’t the weekend to be doing that i started back up again. i have full faith that, just as it did that wednesday, i’ll be able to just quit.
thanks babe *smooches*
yay! it seemed that snagglepuss’ shakespearean prose was a natural to follow the muppet’s hamlet last night
i just gotta make sure that no one is around for me to go off on…
Love Snagglepuss.
I almost said it quit snowing here too but I don’t want to tempt fate.
A fine evening to you, Suzanne. Just procrastinating from school work.
hey margot — what’s the weather dood say? is it safe to go outside yet? glad ya liked tonight’s toon
what kinda school work?
[homo standing in the corner]
Weee! lurves you, hunny!
It was sleeting earlier but that has stopped, and I didn’t listen to the weather guy.
*laughing* is that like one of them bed in a bag things???
yikes… slippery
I found that to work very well. For me it worked to do as little as possible and interact with people as little as possible til the worst of it was over. 4th and 5th days were the worst and by two weeks i was semi civilized again. it was almost to the point where friends would get me food and slip it under the door. i also drank a lot of water and brushed my teeth after meals instead of smoking. i got REALLY good at brushing my teeth.
Hi everyone, I’m trying to quit snowing myself
Gal! *G*
hey cole65 — how ya doing tonight? are ya having any success?
hey larue — how’s sac tonight?
Stutter huh? I get it . . .
*G*
Sorry you’re sickly, Suz.
We got a very light dusting of snow. It closed the whole city down – no schools or government offices open.
The kind of school work that nearly-middle-aged-if-not-already people do when they find themselves in the economic sewer and they never finished college. I’m studying for a mini health care technology award and trying to jerry rig some kind of associate degree, prolly with the computers. I’m also waiting to hear from the local 4-year college on admission and financial aid.
To think when I was 16 that I imagined myself to be the next Kurt Gödel or Alan Turing, living a life of cerebral glory at some institution.
I have three cigarettes to last me for six days until payday, so I am confident that success is just around the corner.
tis a fine line…. i found it easy to quit by being in a situation where i could not smoke.
but that situation came with people. i gotta figure out how to avoid the people for sure until i’m civil again
That is sometin ya didn’t reveal recently . . . ;-)
i’ve been secretly laughing at the football folks who picked houston for a feb superbowl thinking that winter weather wouldn’t be a problem….
You’re one of the most honest people/creatures (!) I know.
Smooches and smooches upon you!
Snowin, shovelin, blowin . . . hard woik hoss!
*G*
long ago, when i was 18, it was easy to get a job with just a hs diploma. nowadays, ya gotta have at least one college degree (and, of course, those forking student loans) and still have difficulty finding a job.
was a lot easier back then…
i try to be totally honest at all times kelly. it really does make life easier — i don’t play games either — probably why i’ve not had a date since before i retired
last night, it was gone by the time my thread posted. today’s hasn’t gone away
is it houston? i, admittedly pay absolutely no attention to the superbowl, but i thought some article in the paper was talking about dallas.
*shrudder* dood
it could be dallas — i’ve not paid attention either… some stadium in texas
Heh.
Piss off. I’m going out on the porch, and smoke. And chant me some arabic!
LOL!
Ameen!
Back in a few…
“Standin on the corner.
Suit case in my hand.”
*G*
As someone who went back at 45 and finished, let me tell you it’s not too late. Jump in hard, and excel! For financial aid, you will need to fill out a FAFSA. Do that ASAP, if you haven’t already.
shit… i’m drawing a blank on that lyric.. what’s it from larue?
That shit will kill ya, not to mention that shit stinks.
We went cold turkey about 10 years ago.
Life is good.
Sweet Jane.
my suitcase and guitar in hand
thanks rond
I spent the day today at the Austin Friends of Traditional Music Winter Festival, a benefit they do every year. I’m not sure why Larue, but I thought about you when a guy came on I hadn’t heard of before. He was my fave of the day. David Hamburger. He did a couple of slide guitar songs that were sublime. Have you heard him? I guess I thought you’d really like him.
I did do that, on 1/1/11, trying to be on top of the ball this year. On an optimistic note, I just got notice that I can go to Salt Lake for a Jeopardy audition. It might be worth spending the several hundred dollars now if I can eventually get on the show.
Thanks for the encouragement, Ron.
cowboy junkies cover of lou reed
Wishin ya well my friend . . . hope it ain’t nuttin . . .
a jeopardy audition? wow, my oldest girl has been pushing me to try out for that (both girls call me cliff claven) but i don’t have the nerve to do it
wow
With love, yer friend . . . I allus wanted to be yer friend Wyatt, can I be yer friend?
*G*
Love that movie . . .
me too.. good thing i’ve got sun and mon night off — if i turn into a bitch (i don’t do sick well) no one will notice :)
Yeah, tell me about it.
By the way, let me compliment you on your musical and cartoon taste. And I’ve been singing hippo birdies for a couple days now too…
What are you going to chant in Arabic?
NO! Really?
Hard core NYC . . .
Sweet Jane, from Rock N Roll Animal, by Lou Reed.
*G*
aw thanks dood. i try to find stuff that i think ya’ll will like and enjoy — did we miss your birdie or is it an earworm?
Yeh, you got it!
*G*
Congrats…I should know in a couple weeks whether I’ve been accepted to grad school. Returning to school is the best decision I’ve ever made, and I encourage everyone who may have been diverted by circumstances earlier in life to grab the opportunity. Best of luck to you.
i yam not perfect my friend :) and neither is my memory — no matter how hard i try
plus i tink i hab a code in by noz
Hi cole65. I quit snowing a few years ago myself after many years of trying. I got sick and was in the hospital, keeping my 84-year-old roomie up with my cough. Had pneumonia among other things.
Honestly I think the 4 days in the hospital made all the difference.
Good luck!
C’mon. We all know, you’re on the good side.

Hey GW, nice catch of music!
YEah, he’s familiar among the dobro and pedal steel crowds I frequent.
Thanks!
*G*
A Jeopardy audition? Oh Hell yes. Do not close the door on once in a lifetime opportunities, or they stop knocking.
Yeah, it’s about time. It’s just about the only big business that I still support
(echo) floyd! (/echo)
Its an ear worm, but I thought it was pretty hilarious.
MARGAUX! *HEART*
congrats on snagging the happy lucky 100 cole!!!
Well, if I must, the call to prayer.
Heh . . . you is who you is, n we ALL love ya for it.
Ewe kno that.
*G*
i don’t know who i stole it from (or where) but its easy to remember and i can dance to it :)
sorry for the ear worm part tho… when i have one, i have to purposely think of another ear worm that i know i can get rid of
Thanks. I’m in retail. it should be fun.
WOOHOO!!!
Yer good . . . I’ve always said that.
;-)
i’ve been modding here what – 4 years now? i gotta admit, it has turned me into a much nicer person. ya’ll gotta remember i was that bitch with a badge for 24 years… old habits are hard to break but i finally broke that one
Phreakin Todd!
*G*
Hi everyone.
*tossing confetti*
hey wmd — how ya doing tonight?
Good call, thanks!
Extraordinarily beautiful reading of the adthan. Do you know who’s reciting?
Do you do the prayers?
Funneh, you’ve changed ME a whole lot too . . .
*G*
twas a dirty job but someone had to do it
*g*
Goodnite everybody, stay warm, be well, go Steelers, fuck Reagan, adieu.
g’nite cole
No, I do not know.
What i do love is the PASSION. It’s so evident.
You know, Suzanne, I lurked for a year before I ever commented-I think that was in late 06, and I’ve been here ever since-and I’ve never seen you be a bitch to anyone, even those who’ve richly deserved it. Just sayin’.
Oh snap…! ;-)
tis a wonderful voice he has…
My brother did that a couple of times when he lived in NYC. Smart as hell but he didn’t have a tv, worked 2 jobs and knew nothing about popular culture, sports, etc.
I hope we can say “We knew you when…”!
hi wmd:)
hmmm maybe i shudda used a big G instead of the g…
aw thanks ron.
We Like The Moon!

Simple fact, and you’re welcome. :)
((Suzanne)))

rond — when kelly posted that floyd at 97, i thought for sure you would counter with another floyd (or floyd cover)

ps — ya did it again :(
I’m well, but wireless connectivity is bad tonight. New router soon.
Think I’m going to call it a night.
Good night all.
In reply to Suzanne @ 137: I was trying so hard to not be predictable, but I’m really proud of this. Youtube time limitations forced me to cut it in two, but part 2 is right there.
Dogs
The better half thinks she has a sinus infection… Not a happy camper…! I hope you shake your bug off soon too…! *g*
g’nite wmd
happy face even
your flooyd cover band is one of the best i’ve heard dood
Aloha, wmd…!
me too! i never had a sinus infection until my thyroid went haywire — doc said it was a common side effect after the radiation. those fuckers hurt! the good news is that my teeth are not hurting when i walk and at this point, its just a lotta sneezing and a headache. fingers and toes crossed that it doesn’t morph into a sinus infection
Posted last night, still good for Sat LLN.
Keep Yer Lamps Trimmed!

Geez . . . . Let’s try this though.
Viking Kittehs
Free Mexican Air Force Song starts at 2:40 into the recording
while i was in ca, i read the girl with the dragon tattoo. after all the hype about how great it was, i was hoping i would hate it but it was a great mystery that kept me guessing.
i’m gonna have to see if the tilly library has the 2 other books that make up the trilogy.
Thanks. It was really a labor of love, and I can’t believe the only video I have is that little theater, with camera sound and almost no production, but I think the love of the music really comes through. The big shows, with the lasers and video and props? No usable video. But I loved doing it. I don’t know if we’ll ever play again, but it’s nice to have an archive I can point to and say, “I did that!”
yay! that one worked
your molly needs fixing too
oooo nice
It is very likely that Rowan wrote that about a camp at Strawberry Music Fest long ago.
One that I and mine have camped at for for some 10 years or so.
Since ’01.
There’s lots of story behind that story . . . *G*
N I’m here to tell some of them . . .
*G*
No? So sorry . . . I quit.
Nothing for a Broken Heart. I’d sing the Big Al nAderson part.
You Can Leave Your Hat On.
Ok. Try again.
Rws Molly.
?
the coding to embed your link is there but the hhtp to page you are linking to is not…. are ya cutting and pasting the link? maybe that is where the hiccup is happening
is big al anderson the lead singer with asleep at the wheel? his name is ringing a bell…
Eh, Tom is not a thrill for my heart . . . ;-)
i’ve always been partial to this version
:(
No, that’s Ray Benson. Big Al Anderson was in NRBQ.
No, I just think my fingers are out of whack.

Rip This Joint
my daughter lent me Girl with a Dragon Tatoo … i bogged down in the first chapter and haven’t picked it back up. she said it starts slow. I’m not big on mysteries, so i’m not sure if i’ll pick it back up.
ah thanks dood
rock this town
it starts off slow — building up to where the two characters are working on a case…. i plodded through and was rewarded with a book that i did not want to end… great character development
I’m a HUGE Tom Jones fan. The guy is BADASS and has been longer than a lot of tonight’s pups have been alive. Tom Jones is like Chuck Yeager. Never an astronaut, but just the baddest man alive anyway.
I sw TJ in about ’94 at a Warner Bros party when my sister still worked there and we were on speaking terms. I was just dragging my jaw on the floor. The man drips talent and while some of his choices of material have been questionable, his chops are simply among the finest ever.
Like this.
evening, Suzzz
I’m outta heah . . . thanks Pups for the cHAT . . . I can’t stand the typos of mine.
Sigh.
i felt that way about wayne newton until i saw him in tahoe back in the early 70′s… that dood turned out to be a very talented dood and put on one hella show.
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
g’nite larue
Aloha, Larue…!
that’s good to know, i enjoy books with good character development.
long week — pretty good, though – how’s everything up north tonight?
After their R&B daze and the the dark shit from Beggars Banquet and such, when they did Exile, I was elated and still am.
Easily one of their best! Evah!
*G*
‘night, hoss.
Ok. Now I’m gone, aloha CT, n thanks Suz for all ya do . .
That there Margot got me wound up fast with RIp This Joint!
*G*
by the final chapter, i wanted to know a lot more about the girl with the dragon tattoo….
wet — picked up almost 1/2″ yesterday and another 1/4 today
i’ll pick it back up after i finish my current book … gotta stay quiet the next two weeks so i’ll get a lot of reading done. Such a hardship!
the good news is they didn’t tell ya no reading for those two weeks
bout time for me to turn back into a pumpkin folks. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight and for all the music and conversations ya shared.
g’nite all
Echoes
I know it’s long, but it’s just so fucking EPIC…
Drift off to THIS!
Aloha, Suz…! Get well soon…! *g*
g’night, Suzanne. Miss you already.
wow that’s great!
I didn’t like him much (local radio really overplayed “What’s New, Pussycat?”) but then I saw him on a show with Janis Joplin (a Youtube I mean). Loved it.
ya, my “good” eye is doing just fine so no reason to stop looking at things. No lifting over 5 pounds (had to clean my purse!) and no heavy activity. Oh darn. No snowshoveling, laundry, house-cleaning … i can do dishes tho.
g’night Suze!
Goodnight, all. The best of all possible tomorrows to you all.
