In response to CE downstaris:
Heh, low profile here due to calories and such . .
But Sunday, for Da Game . . . we got a birfday package we saved for this (our Birfdays were 17 and 24 Jan for us both).
From SeaBear in WA state . . . . smoked salmon, smoked salmon pate, and more. All from exotic WA and Alaskan salmon . . . so I’m gonna get some cocktail loaf pumpernickel, a small variety of stinky and not stinky Italian cheeses, a lil cream cheese for mixing.
N a couple of avacados, not for guac, but to slice along with some thin slice red bermuda’s . . . n of course, my FAV expensive treat . . . some German Stone Ground Whole Grain Mustard!
*smackinlips*
Mama Told Me

My Sister listened to Jane about the pornoscaners she’s pregnant now she and her husband are driving to California. But ice kills people in Texas at the superbowl stadium has me worried they don’t know how to drive in snow down there.

Last thread Ohio Gringo said his landlady was kicking him out and placing her house on the market because Fox News said the housing market was great has anyone else heard this rumor?
Me and my Sister are renting our condo and the Seattle bubble Blog predicts more housing price drops. I figure the real estate gurus can Snark that story if confirmed. Or OhioGringo’s landlady might be high.
One Of MY Fav 3 Dogs.
i’ve had this drumbeat playing in my head all day.
Yep!
*G*
try a hard refresh and make sure the page is fully loaded before ya click on reply.

Idea best commentor awards the high command can pick categories but we commentors vote on them also best diary awards that could boost page views granted we should do this after Egypt/the middle east calms down if it ever does.
hey openhope — how’s the sound tonight?
hiya, gramps! eye is fine, all things considered. i needed more medical air put in my eye today at office follow-up visit to yesterday’s surgery. Major SQUICK.
i was incommunicado for dayam near a week and am still playing catchup
dare i ask how one knows that one needs more air in one’s eye?
Dude, I’ll just buy some salmon fillet and cut it sushi style and make a dipping sauce with Thai Fish Sauce, ginger, roasted garlic, some rice wine vinegar . . n minced red onions.
*G*
But I LIKE that Lomi Lomi . . . . nice. Never heard of it, thanks!
*waves*
What kind of apples are ya using, open…? Never heard of Flogging Molly…! ;-)

How are the Texans from Betsy’s Place?
Brutal down there . . . poor souls, normal for Minneswota . . . ;-)
Salted Salmon, plenty of tomatoes, green onion and maui onions… easy-peasy and Ono…! ;-)
Super – mid 20s, sunny, no wind. Played bugle at the warmest part of the day at a memorial for a USAF vet over at the old Palmer cemetery. Plowed snow. Wrote new music.
What a week, weather-wise. It snowed, and snowed, had blue skies, lovely sunshine today, totally fabulous sunsets, but scary driving weather. And, oh, I fell on my ass, slipping on ice right in front of the museum. Aspirin tonight.
*G*
I’m almost as excited about the German Mustard as I am the salmon stuffs!
*G*
Hey TCU, Suz, everyone!
Sounds like ET and I are writing diaries.
its been overcast and heavy drizzle most of the day — picked up almost 1/2″ of the wet stuff but the temps have been very moderate with a high of 49 and a low so far of 47. feeling almost like spring may be on the way
Any sauerkraut to go with that mustard?
Hoyt Axton song . . . nice.
I Thought This Might Have Been Yer Pick For Some Reason, It Rocks Hard!
hey ce – ouch ouch and double ouch.
Thanks for honoring the vet, ET…! *g*
There are much worse earworms than Hank. ;-)
hey margot — how ya doing tonight?
Margot!
Snow stories. Still over a foot here.
((Chris))
I hear you. I’m about to buy a cane just to have something to hold onto and poke through the ice and snow.
after the assistant puts numbing drops on the eye, she/he gently touches a wand-type-thingy against the eye & it measures pressure. A routine thing in yearly eye exams. But following a detached retina or surgery, they check it every time. And today i had zero pressure in my eye, even with a partial surgical air bubble. Doc said that it’s not unusual, but the bad part is that when it’s that low, when the eye replaces fluid to normalize things it can overcompensate and too much fluid and high pressure in the eye HURTS. Which we do not want. So, a little more air was called for, kinda like adding air to a tire. Then as the air bubble dissipates, the fluid replacement doesn’t go overboard, and stabilizes in a steadier fashion.
Now, isn’t that more than you wanted to know? I even left out the part about the needles! *g*
Yeah, I know, and while you were away I was makin up national holy daze!
*G*
WOuld you like a pineapple/ginger glazed shrimp from the barbie?
Oh, and my visits from hell, aka the dentist, have begun. I’m crying.
my dad was huge country music fan and my mom loves her rock — given that background, it’s totally natural that i would love that mix
I <3 flogging molly too! One of my favorite loud-music-in-the-car bands!
No fair, PICTURES!
*G*
Lovely!
ET (reply still not working Suz ) my Godmother in Oak Park said the grey stuff was farm raised and I heard farm raised had less omega 3′s the taste well even my beer and hot pepper destroyed taste buds notices.
But I maybe wrong.
it wasn’t the whole song.. just that drumbeat — maybe it was keeping tempo with the headache i woke up with.
Even with boots and all the rest, I can hardly cope here. I’m sick of snow and all the crap we have to wear.
thanks ndfg — so this was caught at your post op visit and not something that you discovered on your own then (and thanks for the no needles)
Doing fine, how about you? We missed you, could you tell?
stuff it in the tubes dood… and some of that german mustard please
(((ce)))
just keep focused on how nice you are gonna look and feel when its all over and done with hon. that helped me get through mine
are you seeing done in the lower left corner of your browser?
I am so thankful for healers and doctors. That’s pretty amazing how they do that.
I know you went through hell — I want to have a great smile for the wedding in Sept.
i missed youse guys too
A great Hoyt Axton song .. love it!! .. good evening Suz, and all the folks, as Dr. John would say ..
There were a lot of family and friends there, so the pressure was on. I prefer that to just playing and watching ‘em sticking a Vet in the ground with no family, no friends, though.
Dayam, they’re good…! Mahalo, Suz…! ;-)
Org. granny smith from Costco. The past 2 days were premium bananas from Costco. Bought 30#s green and ripened.
It was awesome. They ripened at the exact day I was calling Washington state congressional employee’s asking about the Union Busting Manure they pulled. out of 9 sponsors for the 4 bills Union Busting were 6 dems,[tiny d]. Senate. The House had a slew of panic induced sponsors. They actually played the bullshit media propaganda “Waste On The Waters”. I wish I was smart enough to do Waste In the Congress.
Our Local Boy, Jeff Morris, with his website saying he’s Speaker, except he’s not anymore, on the House side of Union Busting, [tiny d] sponsored the hb 1511 version. That’s the money side of Union Busting, right? So, I chopped up all these phallic symbols, art is where you fid it!!
Senate bills 5405,5406, 5408, 5409 are the laws dismantling the Union in pieces, right?
I thought 5407 was part of the package, but, it turns out that’s a drivers license issue, that’s a Brown People issue. Tucked into the Union Busting Bills.
Maybe we can all meet together on Feb.21. In Tacoma, I’m told.
Dang! Lovely!
Sounds A Lot Like Ian And The Pogues!
Nice Floggin Molly’s . . new to me and I like! Thanks!
Funny, also sounds a bit like These Guys, Whom I’ve Always Loved.
i got a lot of support here at late late nite during that whole ordeal. the day after they pulled 5 teeth was the worst i think — i was so embarrassed and worried that the gaps were going to be more noticeable than the broken teeth had been.
i wish i had been able to get it done before jen’s wedding — but baby julianna will only know a gammy that has teeth
hey tearloch — how’s north bc tonight?
thank openhope — she’s the one who mentioned them… i just searched the utube
Damn but that IS good .. Flogging Molly indeed .. I will pick some of that up for the mp3 .. good rhythm to shovel snow too ../s
yeah, it’s not a painful thing, so i wouldn’t have noticed on my own. I was majorly squicked out tho, which i was amused by because it showed me how desensitized and blase i’ve gotten about eye surgery. But a simple in-office procedure, SQUICK!
(shrudder) i would require major major drugs
Not to be confused with the Mollys.
i agree! if this was the good old days, i’d long since be blind in my right eye. But today i was able to see the big E on the eye chart, quite a while since i’ve managed that. ::happy dance!::
Me likey!
In case I didn’t mention it . . . . hmmmm, add a lil roasted garlic, slivered red onion, lemon zest, fresh ginger zest . . . heh heh heh heh heh heh I could go on . . . *G*
or these
All is well .. between poker games and enjoying the repartee .. and you?.. south wind blowing easy??
Nope, no sausages either, alas . . . *G*
But I hear ya . . . *G*
normandy food eye candy
Yeah, CE, be careful, heal fast n then get some crampons for them shoes!
What is up with the dems in state houses and Congress these days…? 8-(
Yes, I hope for the best, too. My family is so supportive.
highest gust was only an 11… started out from the east but has switched to the southwest now
Suz, I meant to reply to that . . . nice Hank, thanks!
evening, Suzzz – firegods
dang. this thread is making me hungry. sheesh. off to raid the fridge …
Hi Margot I held off posting on rare earth minerals because Obama had a meeting with China in November then the Chinese Premier came to Chicago but no news was announced.
No rare earth minerals no missile parts, no advanced solar cells, no windmills. I think China is playing a game they have miners who would be very unhappy to be laid off ( I would have to try and research that but China censors stuff).
Lets suppose the miners are not laid off? Could China be using all its rare earth minerals to green their economy and make it less dependent on oil?
If the Chinese get richer they will want cars.Gates and Buffet are invested in a Chinese made electric car supporting such a car with government cash something I have argued we should be doing would explain in part why China needs so much rare earth minerals.
Sure its speculation but can China afford to lay off workers because they are pissed at Japan over a few natural gas deposits?
If I can find numbers on the gas deposits vs the rare earth mineral market and the rare earth mineral market is larger then either China is stupid, China wants war when all the American troops are in Iraq and Afghanistan or China is going green and probably shorting the oil market since every oil projection of demand assumes China’s demand grows at a certain rate. Electric cars produced by the millions backed by government cash changes all that.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m paranoid or psychic:)
Choucroute Garnie!
hey ppd — how was your day today?
bring back some goodies for us ndfg — no fair bogarting
well, thanks — how’s everything up north?
Hey PPDCUS!
What’s up?
I am very interested in this union-busting attempt in your state. I’ve got to leave for Pittsburgh right now, but please keep the updates coming.
Popping in tonite to say hello. Dang car broke down completely and I’m broke! Well, this will insure I’m broke!
hey robert — an unexpected trip?
100?
happy lucky 100 starbuck!!!
hope it changes your luck dood – dayam
Heh, here’s a whole skewer of them These Don’t Suck!, a few german sausages and that mustard!
Welcome home!
*G*
Congrats on the 100, but, that always sux having a broke car…! 8-(
You are way above my level there! I had never heard of rare earth minerals (unless we’re talking make-up, and then just barely) before you mentioned it.
Hmmm, maybe I should play the lottery?
yum! thanks dood
How did it die battery, starter motor, spark plugs (it would not turn over) or motor runs but wheels don’t turn?
A little of both, but probably more psychic. We’ll see. Don’t lose the paranoia, though.
Suddenly would hardly start, then it clangs and chatters.
Valves, timing belt (it’s pretty new but….?)tie rod, connecting rod?
160K+ miles….
Fuck….I’m a newbie!! I had no idea they were what they are.
I think I found a friend in a “progressive’s” office. Someone to walk me through the proceedures from committee to vote. Which is next week, whether to send it to the floor or kill it. I don’t know for sure, because it’s a snake den out there.
You know, we’d all be advised to at least look at our local shit. She said, way over her head……….
I already signed up to be arrested, if the Unions get their game on.
sigh … not too much in the fridge. *passes around bowl of healthy raw veggies and tofu dip* my daughter is really into heathy eating. Which i’m in favor of, generally. But sometimes that junk-food taste bud just acts up.
Oregon is gonna have it’s share. It’s broke and the State Workers pension (PERS) is gonna nail the coffin.
hiya CE – good to see you
My all time fav Hoyt, aside from Lightning’s Bar.
Evangelina.
…I already signed up to be arrested,…
*heh* Are you sure the cops will wanna arrest ya…? ;-)
Margot we are all good at different stuff I’m good at weird but suck at grammar. I think all people have the same amount of gifts but whether they choose to use them is up to them. Most Lakers are using them but in different ways.
I’m just near the top end of the bell weird curve but the bottom end of grammar. I figure like Cassandra when the Fates are involved I and the Left must not be believed.
http://www.arthistory.sbc.edu/imageswomen/papers/fittoncassandra/cass3.html
Once Cassandra had been cursed by Apollo to prophesy the truth but never be believed, Troy was doomed. Countless times before and during the Trojan War Cassandra predicted what would come of the war, but no one believed her. Always it was Cassandra who recognized a face, who predicted a fateful occurrence, who ran around the ramparts of the city with her hair flying around her shoulders, crying and spouting oracles that no one understood. Most people considered her insane and tried to subdue her, but she was only trying desperately to warn her people of impending disaster.
I rant about cognitive dissonance because I think the bias of getting paid now negates the future where you might not get paid.
Good on ya ET, bless The Vet and all the others n yer fineself . . .
Horns are a special thing in the music of the planet . . . us dobro players often try and steal horn licks and adapt them to our voice . . . glad yer playing.
Nothing like having to walk to the store to second guess junk food!
I’m organizing my thoughts because this all came out of the blue, except for the King 5 station investigative series on ,…..wait for it….”Waste On The Waters”. I know it needs a post.
Our state senator, Kevin Ranker, who ran on the Local Boy image and is on the Transportation Committee didn’t have the balls to sponsor it, but had the assholeness to confront Union members in the senate hearings.
Fuck Wankers!!!
They’re destroying our lives.
Should the Chinese be building electrics with their rare minerals they would be very smart. Value added from the get go. I believe electric is the best way to go right now. I have 3 electric trikes now and want to build more. It is hard to argue against 1 penny a mile. Thing is my batteries are from China as they are the best i can find. The motors are from China also. Where is that American ingenuity?
Sweet . . .
N not to be confused with Red Molly.
*G*
You recall a Scotian band called Scrooj McDuck? The Duhks?
i remember those days :( :( :(
THink also about the human voice. I don’t play dobro, but I play a LOT of slide guitar and I think a lot about emulating the human voice in doing so. I also think of violin and blues harp in my playing.
I do more horn licks in my fretted playing than in my slide playing. I also have a lot of steel guitar licks.
Out-Sourced to China…? ;-)
lyle lovett and his large band on austin city limits this week :)
hey thatguy — how ya doing tonight?
OOhh,oohh, is popping in and hitting 100 with a car problem a double point??
Doing ok, kinda wiped out. TMI story so I won’t share. I was going to play a gig but I felt too crappy.
hey homeroid — how ya doing tonight?
Nice to see you back, Suz. I have been missing this post lately and I know you have been back a while.
Oh that strikes a chord, about people wanting to subdue Cassandra. Someone was telling me about a relative who might need “chemical restraints.” Shudder.
thanks dood — tis good to be back
This is why I kept the plastic wrap on, when I bought my last keyboard . . . @ $65 a pop, I HAD to do something about that drooling thang . . . *G*
Eat your heart out openhope!
Cold weather in Oregon maybe you got what in illinois we call summer gas? Did you winterize your car change the coolant to handle the lower temps is your car parked outside? Are you running oil from an oil exchange place they probably gave you the cheap stuff. Is your car fine once its been running awhile but horrible to start? Once its in a warm garage for several hours will it start?
Those things I think give no warning the starter motor should start but the engine won’t go at all or the car should make awful about to die noise you might get some movement to the wheels but not for long.
more details needed.
Salumni!
Fuckin’ buy a lottery ticket!
*G*
Rock On Suzanne ! Luv the muppets…the outrage-o-meter barely gets off the stop. More Dr. Teeth next time, please.
China has the best Lithium bike tech you can find… gulp we have lost our edge my Brother Portland OR Bike tech supreme swears by Japanese parts mostly if China gots the lock on electric bikes, bike owners are willing to spend more for a half ounce lighter weight or anything that makes them go faster.
CRAP MUCH MORE RESEARCH!
Real nice. Have more than a foot of new snow and sun today mild in the high 20′s Once the bike path is plowed will go for a ride.
hey sir — how ya doing tonight? glad ya liked it — i’ll look for some electric mayhem for next week
Could be anything, including faulty vacuum hoses/leaks.
Get a certified wrench to look at it . . . the honest shops are hard to come by anymore, but if ya work the LOYALTY angle and ‘I’ll refer my friends’ angle, it helps.
Good luck I know it hurts to be out money and at the mercy of the car devils . . . bless ya. AND yer car . . . and the wrench you go to . .
sounds nice dood. iirc, aren’t you are up around homer?
vre retired.
WHo ya rootin for in Da Bowl?
I gotta like that kid replaced Favre in GB, Aaron Rodgers.
Go Packers!
I hope you ain’t eating tofu dip Sunday . . . *rollseyes*
;-)
I’m a native of Illinois; been through a storm like what happened this week, as a volunteer firefighter, running up freeway ramps the wrong way rescuing stranded, injured motorists.
I left soon after it!
I am all winterized, oil changed etc.
Details Monday or Tuesday when my mechanic weighs in.
We could be building much better! Somehow i think some-one-thing holds us back. Just cant put my finger on it. At 380 a gallon i might guess.
Hey, ThatGuy, I just played Sheryl Crow’s first cd, Sheryl Crow. I thought about you for some reason, think it was your link to a song of hers while disparaging her.[Which I do,too] But, she fucking rocked on the first cd. Made me nostalgic for the days of sculpting in my studio with new- blood rockers on the boombox.!
She put out a great CD.
doing well thanks – happy Friday…I’ve been working for the man and not commenting much at all lately. playing alot in bands, crikey !
fingers and toes crossed its an easy (and cheap) fix starbuck
Are you building the electrotrikes to sell?
Thanks.
Interesting, not much I hear about.
Can you do a diary about your trike’s at MyFDL?
Discuss the latest in the technology, why CHinese have best batteries, what’s the cost to American’s to GET these batteries, and more?
I’d sure read that one . . .
My wrench lives right next door to me, a Chinese Vietnam refugee from the fall of Saigon. He’s good and gives excellent service and advice. I try to return the favor.
The hamlet by the sea the only place for me.
I avoid Da Bowl like the plague. I will always root for the Pack as long as i never have to, yanno, like watch a game or something.
working mans blues
Margot is the person nuts or just not making sense because one thing is bringing them to despair? Can will anyone be there for the person? Granted drugs might be needed but has anyone tried to be there 24/7 and tried to help them or get their minds off what ever is their damage?
Just a thought my family has lots of supposed mental problems Cognitive Dissonance my Dad about his 20 years he fought divorce. My Mom unhappy but needing a target/victim to get angry upon, me who can remember almost every thing happy and unhappy from childhood but can’t let go.
We deal as best we can accept we are messed up talk about it even if it hurts ourselves or if others or ourselves don’t want to talk get angry sometimes leave.
But we come back.
Well, I have a piano I can sell(gulp!!) and camera stuff I don’t need.
What I really need is a job.
Or win a lottery. $200,000 would be just fine. I don’ need no steenkin’ millions!
sweet — thought that was what i remembered…
Ya but not that i will make any money from it only to show people it can be done. And it works in our climate. It is safer than walking on icy side walks. Works below zero.
ya hit the lucky happy 100 with a tale of woe.. i think openhope is right with buy a lotto ticket
Yes to all you say . . . it’s rather common for round neckers and steel players to cop the licks of the voice . . . us square neckers are rippin off the instruments still.
Me, I’m tryin to follow the chords and learn the songs still!
But I sure love the squareneck sounds . . . old and new, Brother Oswald Kirby, Josh Graves, Tut Taylor, Norman Blake, St. Mike Auldridge, n then FLux n Rob Ickes and so many others.
Pick on hoss!
*G*
Heh, heh, Heh, heh, Heh, heh, Heh, heh, Heh, heh, Heh, heh, Heh, heh.
Yeah, we’re apparently having a Super Bowl time at our house. I’m making snacks and getting the hell out.
sweet tooth
And I didn’t even try, although I knew I had a chance since when I posted we were at 98.
There’s a shop in Fremont district of Seattle, where about four people are making bike and trike conversions and are now starting to make new vehicles. Right across the street from the Fremont Foundry. They can’t make ‘em fast enough. I like the cold resistance buld-in, though cold in Homer is different from cold in Wasilla.
Batteries, especially the lithium versions have an aversion to cold.
ThingsComeUndone, have I thanked you for your prescient input lately?
Thank you, I enjoy your energy.
peace and laughter,
Openhope
Did you have warning signs before it died and how was it before it died or gave you problems? Tie rod I think would crack your engine block 160k miles thats not likely unless you got a lemon or you forgot the oil change even for an American car.
Check vehicle service updates for your make model year on the net maybe someone else had the problem before you?
Vehicle Service updates I think is the wrong term but might be close enough to google search I can’t think of the exact wording help!
Anonymous is starting to try to take down Egyptian gov security web sites.
got that right. biodiesel and cold don’t get along that well, either.
Perto hangs at at T-boggs site might get you into fast food at Hawthorne:)
The Batts i have now are good to 10 below but if you keep them in at night they will hold temp for a few hours by mass alone. And you can travel at 25 mph so how long do you want. I design my bikes for 20 miles per charge. Gear it right and pedal hard you can double that.
“All I wanna do, is have some fun . . . when the sun goes down on the Santa Monica Boulevard.”
*G*
Hated that song then, it was played to death.
A decade later, I love her work . . . ‘specially the album she did with country legend Dwight Yokum . . . “Under The Covers”. They did a cover of Sonny N Cher’s “Baby Don’t Go” that’s killer, with LARGE horns . . . it just rocks in harmony.
Google Li Ping batteries
I don’t see how that’s going to work,..that’s Sulieman’s territory. Intelligence, right?
Rock on, Anonymous.
I remember having to plug in an electric blanket which was wrapped around the engine block in Pine Point, NWT to keep the oil from freezing…!
Oh there were gas wars yesterday here in Ohio. A couple places had gas for 3.19, and 2 more stations 5 minutes away had gas for 2.96.
The Duhks weren’t Scotian, but they were Canadian. A few lineup changes, haven’t heard from them recently, hope they’re still around.
our house has always been a Super
BowlBore free-zone. The Stanley Cup is another matter, however *g*Well, probably, but it was mimicking a different symptom from about a year ago, and it was a very slight hint.
I had the water pump and timing belt changed a couple of months back, but since this is a Ford Escort with a non-interference engine, I doubt it’s valves at least not due to a break in the belt.
There are other things looking back, but they showed up right after the belt, water pump and tensioner replacement and I thought it was a matter of a rather noisy replacement. Nothing serious, but in retrospect…. That engine has always been a noise maker. To me, it does behave like an engine way off valve timing.
Bookmarked it. Are you going to set up a web page to tout your vehicles?
OpenHope the price at times is madness just put up with me on bad days and no thanks is needed:) Still given the Lake’s record of predicting shit during the Bush years and considering we did not have the secret intel the Bushies had I suspect we are all precogs.
And much like Modern humans must deal with Neanderthals until we get enough numbers and position in society to take over.
Look at Bush’s lack of empathy for the woman he pulled the switch on. Tucker Carlson of all people I think reported Bush told a joke her last words were please don’t kill me?
Which is real funny if having power over other people is your thing.
For people with empathy the joke is WTF!!!
The Santa Monica Blvd. song was her weakest on the CD. I don’t like it. But the rest are good songs. imho
baby don’t go
Ms ET has that pack on her vehicle – battery blanket- because she has to travel to Fairbanks.
He meant Nova Scotia…! ;-)
Oh, fuck, not the Stanley Cup!! We spent 13 years in a beach cabin, 2 TeeVee stations. Both Canadian. Fuck The Stanley Cup!!!!
Hi pups! I’m really back this time — sorry I didn’t send thanks for the welcome back posts last week.
All my appliances and electronics broke simultaneously – kinda like what happens right after a divorce. My computer has a temp fix. Is hanging by a thread while I continue to dither about selecting a replacement.
Suleiman is very, very overrated, as far as being up on stuff. As soon as his own people smell the scent of toast on him, they’ll liquidate him quietly. They might have already, had they found a patsy.
Agreed!
And I now LIKE that song . . . hated it sooo bad then, funneh how the ear worms of our lives change . .
Local, Local, Local………
hey sunny – dayam gal that’s some bad mojo — have ya tried burning sage?
Egypt state media reporting a gas pipeline from Egypt to Israel has been blown up.
Let the false flags begin.
In Alaska as an oil producing state we pay through the nose for our fuel. Don’t ask it’s a long running story. Best way i see to beat it is to not need it. They are going to hate me and my wood pellet boiler and steam engine, electric generator, subfloor heating closed system.
Thanks, I did.
My experience with Li-ion are the ones in my Nikon DSLR. When I work outside in the cold it is imperative I carry at least one extra tucked almost under the arm pit.
Your batteries are kinda bulky!
I don’t know if the Nikon’s are the LiFePO4 version.
Kewl, very kewl.
WIshin ya the best of outcomes then, sounds like yer set up for the best possible in any event, good or bad, at least you’ll get the truth, not a lot of run around and extra billing . . . ya done yer homework and got a good wrench!
I would sleep better knowing he’s a cast off as well. I’m not a big believer in local politicians right now due to my foray into Wa.State state government.
I assume there’s a nasty piece of work trained and waiting for their entrance. Color me cynical.
if i’d been in that situation, i might have felt the same.
link?
hey gregb — how’s the granite state tonight?
Egyptian Vice Prez survives assassination bid…
Hi Sunny,
PC or Mac?
and ya got the lucky happy 200 starbuck!!!
greetings dragons. Hey Suz, I haven’t been around ll’nite much but caught you were off to see your grandkid into the world. All went well I hope?
So did I. The Duhks were from Winnipeg, Manitoba, not Nova Scotia.
Cripes! I hit 200!!!
Now you’d best go purchase that Lotto ticket…! Congrats on the 200…! ;-)
i heard that was a rumor, started by fox news
Valve time should be computer controlled even on a Ford I may be wrong on this but mechanical control is rare and for a car this new either you forgot to change the oil or you got a lemon.
Or your ford computer controlling the valves is for shit.
My ford escorts computer caught fire with me in traffic ten minutes of smoke before I could pull over. I had an electrical fire I wrapped my flannel around my hand to put out the engine fire when a guy in a truck pulled over yelled stop reached for battery clipping cables and cut my battery wires told me it was an electrical fire.
Two days later a friend had car trouble the same Angel of God of auto repair helped him.
Always love your musings, I’m the one thankin YOU!
*G*
hey crusher — i was off attending her baby shower — she’s not due until middle of april
how ya been?
And I only popped in for a moment….
707!
ET.
It is frontpaged on Al Jazeera. No link yet, just a scroll.
Hey Suze. Too much snow and cold here in NH.
Hey CT.
Interesting. Just googled it. Brand new story, but WSJ reported Israeli worries about it over a day ago. Explosion was in El Arish, a town the Israelis are very involved in, intel-wise. The WSJ story was by Joshua Mitnick, a guy who couldn’t write what he does the way he does without a lot of inside info from the Israeli gov.
Chances of false flag – probably 2 to 1.
Maybe my mojo is back — found a copy of sizzling sixteen at the library today :-)
Not getting the reference OP
Here’s a singer we Scotians claim as one of ours, although she’s now based on the left coast.
oh sweet!!!
That’s not only huge, but incredibly interesting . . .
Sorta changes the ground game for revolutions, in general.
Wow, thanks for the heads up!
No i may put them on Craigs list or perhaps just the local papers. I am not into making money i am into teaching people that they can do it them selves. We dont have to be slaves to oil. I am also going to build a wind charger from my old 57 chevy generator. Now that will be free transport then.
Yay Sunny!
oops my bad. found a website called babygamer.com . been havin fun with the grand kid on it. getting some extended giggles.
Oh my god, you are so destined for something…………………………………..
Interesting perspective.
It’s a ’99 Escort. I know computers and I really don’t trust car computers. OTOH, the specs for the silicon devices for car electronics are really heavy duty.
We shall see….but actually, if you do not get the timing belt correctly positioned, will you not get timing errors anyway? If the computer tries to correct that, all hell could break loose. Even forgetting to replace the temp sensor wire can do that! I wonder if the belt jumped a notch or two. I wonder if the replacement tensioner is faulty.
I’m not sticking around for 300. ;-)
It fits perfectly with the ‘stability with Mubarak’ theme and the ‘opposition is a bunch of terrorists’ theme.
Shocked. Shocked I say.
Thought they were parts of Scrooj . . which I thought was Scotian.
All great and wonderful folks and players. Got to meet and jam with them at some fests out here in CA back then . . . I was so new and ugly I just chucked most of the time . . . . but they sang and I know some songs they would do, so I worked out my voice some.
Good times! Love me some fest camp jams!
Valves are messed up your burning gas or oil lots of white smoke on a warm day gas black smoke oil. Thrown a rod you should not run long if at all and if you do run lots of noise oil change needed bad bearings likely again make model year google to see if anyone else had similar problems.
Hey everyone.
Driveby jukebox moment.
Now That would be a story. Fox News Invents Assassination Attempt. Instead of PROMOTING one.
Ewwww!
NOT!
*G*
hey wmd — how ya doing tonight?
Don’t think I’ll make it either…fading fast.
I’m well. Looking forward to Monday and onwards.
I think he knows that . . . *G*
He sure knows the music and musicians I know, too!
*G*
You MISS Canada, don’t cha . . . *G*
isn’t that a great feeling!
Just got home from a few beers, reheated some ratatouille and roast chicken for a late night snack.
This engine is remarkably miserly on both gas and oil.
Engine relatively quiet then poof! Catastrophic breakdown, a BSOD for the Escort.
That is the issue… I have no special mac needs but I’ve got a hankering.
Heard you got a job. In or around Portland?
Congrats, btw!
AJ reporting no casualties and no major damage to the pipeline. Pikers.
Not at this time of year…! My blood is way too thin these days…! ;-)
Hell, I miss Canada and I’m not even Canadian. Except by ancestry. I like Canada. I can’t wait until we invade her. [as Johnathon Winters said,]
I thought you said you had the timing belt replaced sure that can explain it but thats a simple mistake. However you know its the computer if it catches on fire. Belts well check the tension and look for wear a new belt should not be worn unless the tension was crap. No or little wear on the belt means whatever turns it got fried or the belt is still to new to show wear.
Wear on belts how much should be expected beyond my expertise even if I was right in your garage.
Still I like puzzles even if I’m wrong tell me what your mechanic says.:)
He;s a thug, and unfit for the people of Egypt.
I doubt he will last.
But MFI today posted some seriously hard core shit about the reality of this revolt in Egypt . . .
And Suleiman, that bastid, just might slide into the vacuum ahead of ElBaradei . . . or any REAL progressive change for Egypt.
Time will tell . . . but that graphic David Dayen had of Africa/ME and the blue/green countries is quite telling IMHO.
Shit’s being disturbed, largely, across a lot of turf, over food and shelter and basic living needs.
It’s the kind of thing that can get viral, fast, among the poor. Although as MFI shows, that’s not the Egyptian case, yet.
If you have the money, go for it. Otherwise, probably a Dell or a carefully chosen HP might be a path. If so, be sure to get Win7 and not the Home Premium (Premium. Right!)version. Should cost only another 30 bucks or so for the Win7 pro.
i’m turning back into a pumpkin folks. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight — hope to see ya tomorrow for cartoons
g’nite all
Wow . . . I’ll look into that tomorrow, thanks.
No, I’ll be in Sunnyvale, and eventually Ben Lomond. One of my cow orkers lives about 4 miles away in Felton, and told me during the interview he works from home 3 days a week during interview… I won’t start working from home routinely until May or June.
Boss is in England, team is in Sunnyvale, Austin, RTP North Carolina. I’ve got a former colleague that works for my new company in the Portland area, but I don’t think there’s a big presence there.
And thanks for the kind wishes. I’m pulling for all of us that want work to find opportunities.
Yes computer bad the computer will adjust things so the belt don’t matter can your mechanic plug into the computer again google your car’s make model year and any problems.
Will do, and with that, I’m signing off. Maybe I continue the luck then buy a new(ish!) car.
Nit all, and thanks for your support and advice. Nice bunch at the Lake.
Night all. Sweet dreams.
Good night Suz. And I’m going to say good night too, snack is in belly.
Can you share your firm’s name? Is it AMD?
IF this shit is true, who would want Suleiman dead?
The Egyptian revolt as we and MFI know it, is not really about these matters, nor is the Muslim Brotherhood.
I suspect this is . . . well, I just don’t know, but it would NOT surprise me to find out this is not true.
So, who wants Sulei dead? Not the USA nor Israel I don’t think!
Aloha, Suz…! A raucous thread tonite…! ;-)
Something snapped would it start with a key turn was it an effort to start how was it after it started or was it just dead? details everything why do you think its a rod or timing valves?
Yeah . . . big issue earlier today on threads.
I wonder where FOX may have gotten the, erm, inspiration, to do so?
Veddy, veddy interesting . . . /ArtCarne
OP you help make the Lake Special for me you and Margot:)
I love this town . .
ALWAYS the best in details from its denizens.
Always.
Proud To Be A Pup.
Suz you can’t leave!!!
Huh, never heard of her, so YER from Scotia?
My wife is . . .
That gal is a bit too r n b/hiphop/ n such for my musical taste.
I prefer the fiddlin folkie grassy versions of Scotian/Cape Breton life.
*G*
It’s my wrenches swag.
Anyway, really saying good nite. CT hit it on the head.
Thanks for the advice… that’s helpful.
nite all.
A misplaced timing belt can ruin a motor in a New York Minute.
Just trust yer wrench, and take some medication of your own personal choice and wait . .
*G*
No sense in workin yer self up in a major worry till you know the truth.
I will apologize for offering thoughts and things.
Let yer wrench do his mojo . . . then ya go to next step.
;-)
WHOA!
*G*
Heh!
Wussie!
/jealous
My wife’s Scotian, Canadian.
I really think we may end up there somewhere for our end times.
We got about 20 or so years left likely . . .
I don’t like freezing cold, and to live in that clime takes money, which we don’t have . . .
But if we CAN make it, up there, I’d prefer it.
I’d like to die in a more morally grounded existence, I think.
*G*
your mechanic winterizing you for Portland might not be enough did the trouble start with cold weather?
Yer in The Cruz Region?
Damn I envy ya, for all that music there, all the venues, all the local musicians.
We lived IN Santa Cruz from ’61-early ’63.
As a San Matean, once I got a license to drive or ride motosicles, I returned often.
My bro and his wife lived there and now reside in Scotch Valley.
I have dear camp fest pals who live in that region . . .
N I miss it dearly.
Yer a lucky person to be there . . . in all that glory of sea, sun, surf, fog, barking seals in harbors, n all that music at hand.
Dang, I’m getting all teared up just thinking about it all.
*sniff*
Raucous?
Nah, just rambunctious!
*G*
Whoa, I just got caught up, it’s only midnite 45 or so, and this place went belly up dead . . .
Go figger?
Right on time…! ;-)
Aloha, Larue…! Pleasant dreams…
Last Red Molly, Night Pups.
*G*
We gone, buh bye . . .

I played Polonius in a local, amateur production of Hamlet many years ago. So I had the unique privilege of hiding behind the arras and getting whacked by Hamlet every night. I also doubled as Fortinbras.
