I read that Palin is considered a gadfly by most on the right, i.e., they’re perfectly happy the left is overly distracted by her. The possible GOP contenders for 2012 seem lacking entirely, or are running for VP, or are damaged goods like Romney, so maybe they’re all trying to regroup and have Palin as a lightning rod for now. Bachman, much the same, a Palin lite.

I heard Lang Lang in NYC a couple of years ago and wondered what all the fuss was about. The audience went wild, and left with a memorable event, so I suppose that was good for them. I found Lang’s bobbing and weaving on the bench distracting. It was as if he didn’t like the sound which was coming from the piano (or perhaps wasn’t) — and had to compensate emotionally in other non-musical ways. I hope he has grown out of that.

Good morning, pups. It’s Monday, so we’ve got The Pasty Little Putz and Krugman. The Pasty Little Putz, in “Reforming the Reform,” addresses the issue of how Republicans can transform Obamacare from within. He’s all thrilled because the Republicans had the votes in the House to repeal it, and haz a sad because that icky Senate got in the way. Prof. Krugman, in “The Competition Myth,” says it’s a misdiagnosis to say that America’s economic problem is a lack of competitiveness.

I’ve never seen him in person, but from what I hear on the radio he seems to be one of those “sound and fury” pianists, lots of flash and banging and not much in the way of finesse.

It seems as though we both noticed the enabler in chief being the enabler in chief.

If all the comments were highly critical it would kill her ranting perhaps. She’s nothing more than a car crash which slows up traffic and causes everyone who pass to slow down, turn their heads… look and think… why is everyone looking?

Sorry for your car issues – one year ago today, I got in my car to drive off to work and lo’ and behold no battery charging……$100 might as well be $1,0000 when you are broke. Now with gas prices so high and the fact that I am unemployed, live way out in the sticks, I’ve not left my house for 9 days….at least I have firewood so I can keep the heat turned down. Hubby has not had a day off in 24 days, but we need the $$$ and his job may not last due to the economy.

On Palin. The Rethug establishment is scared stiff that she will sweep the Iowa primary and are doing all they can to eliminate her before serious politicking starts. Given how lazy she is, it shouldn’t be too difficult to buy her off, which is the cost-effective thing to do, just like when John Adams bought off the Barbary Pirates. But if they push her, she will fight back, and she’s got all the pop pulp magazines at the check-out counters in America working for her.

I use to like C&L, up to the point where John was either no longer controlling the content, or became so aligned with the Koshack’s I couldn’t take it anymore….

I should add that with the pre-SOTU deficit reduction crap I’m hearing from Democrats, Palin is the least of our worries.

If the democrats are not united in defense of SS, it matters little what the republicans do. They will whimper and capitulate.
