Gabe Zimmerman, one of three staffers of Gabrielle Giffords who were shot today at her Tuscon community event, has been named as one of those who died. The other two are expected to survive. Zimmerman was a former social worker who served as Giffords’ director of community outreach.
Zimmerman was 30 years old and engaged to be married. He is the second to be named of the five who apparently died in the shooting, the first being Judge John McCarthy Roll. A young girl, apparently 9 or 10 years old, has also died.
There were apparently 18 people injured in the shooting,

If this shooter was Black is their any doubt we would have interviews with friends, family, teachers his internet record ( I heard Myspace pulled his page Rupert Murdock owns MySpace does Ruprt treat all Murders with such courtesy?)
Would not GOP politicians be screaming about out of control crime? Would not GOP politicians decry a culture of violence with no respect for human life?
Instead I expect Glenn Beck to say the shooter was a Dem mole out to discredit him.
When are we going to do something about hate tv? I have no problem with freedom of speech but I do have problems with lies that promote hate.

I think its time we acknowledge that hate tv pushes/convinces crazy, and or stupid people that they are being oppressed somehow and that they must take action.
If this or the next shooter watches Glenn Beck we should sue.
I found it so sad to see Mr. Zimmerman’s photo – so young, working to connect a congresswoman with her constituents … and now gone. So very sad.
As are the deaths of the child and of the judge …
I pray for the family and friends of the victims. I’m so sad and sickened by this whole thing.
I remember the healthcare town halls the GOPers started showing up with guns and suddenly everyone on the Left was going to healthcare town halls.

Yes, hate radio. I overhear my neighbor’s in the summer, and the claims, insinuations, tone, delivery, everything else. Claims that the “The Government”/liberals/Nancy Pelosi/someone is always taking something away from you and victimizing you. When I can’t clearly make out the words, there is still a kind of noise that comes from it that puts a person on edge. Plus his “currency” fixation. An ad about gold once every 10 minutes or so.
Not just the News TCU, it was also the beginning of the War on Unions, Drugs, regulations and so on. He greased the slopes we have been sliding on ever since to Kliptocracy by the rich and powerful.. We be fucked..

I wonder what AZ hate radio was saying recently something set this guy off. Someone pointed him to a public event with these politicians I don’t believe he randomly just ran into Gabrielle Giffords.
This smells like Joe the Plumber randomly running into Obama on the street during a work day when most plumbers work.
I quit a good job ’cause my cube neighbor wouldn’t stop playing hate radio all day – it’s pure poision…i just walked, without another job, which, luckily, i found since my industry is in demand…

At the end of the day, I’m afraid to say it looks like what happens when a society chooses to have no mental health care and lots and lots of guns.
Agreed but in the end Reagan will be looked on as corrupt, senile weak, and quite possibly the President who set America down the path of decline which we might never get out of.
Everything Reagan did Bush pushed into overdrive and by real life action has demonstrated that the GOP is wrong about the economy, jobs, the housing market, education etc, etc.
If we can find one Righty who targeted Giffords or anyone shot today on air, tv or the net then we got a case. We got a boycott of all their advertisers.
