mornin BT, firepeeps
Mornin’, BT, pups
Today is supposedly the traditional birthdate of Joan of Arc. Good a reason as any to celebrate something unrelated to our insane political climate.
Is that a drinking holiday?
Every holiday is a drinking holiday.
Drink up, Shriners!
Ms. of Arc was one dangerous hottie – i’ll drink to that!
WikiLeaks Document Reportedly Shows Israel Wants Gaza to Function at ‘Lowest Level’
Originally reported in a Norwegian paper. How surprised am I that Fox News reported this.
Ever seen a 19yo schizophrenic? That’s dangerous.
Morning BT & Firepups:
I’ve been watching Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR) on WJ this morning. I managed not to throw a brick through the TV screen, so I can honestly say that I have already accomplished something today. This mindless neanderthal asshole might be someone to watch.
You didn’t happen to get her phone number, did you?
Morning, everyone! SD, I sent you a picture on FB. Looked and couldn’t find it on ICanHazCheezburger, but it looks like that’s where it should be.
When I worked at Sunflower House in OR we had an encounter with a drop dead gorgeous 18yo suffering her first psychotic break. Think of the most bizarre date you’ve ever had and multiply it by 10.
Yeah, that HCR is really working out nicely…
I see your message but no pic. :(
I saw that. And there’s nothing in that pos to prevent them doing just that.
Man, we’re dead here this morning.
Re the link related to the health care bill [and the Dems defense against the Republicans' attack]:
Didn’t we have a “chart” here at the Lake comparing the “promises” made re what the final bill would cover [not those initial, pie-in-the-sky promises] and the contrasting “what’s actually in the bill” points?
It would be extremely useful in battling the Obamabots and misguided journalists who seem to do their research at the White House press office or OFA.
As an opponent of the piece-of-crap Frankenstein they passed, my first reaction was to cheer on Republican attempts to rescind it. But I need more data.
Ditto re a “compare” [claims] and “contrast” [actuality] on the tax legislation.
Perhaps this could be an expansion of Marcy’s thriving “timeline” business, and it would be oh-so-useful to have links to these in the sidebar.
Is is cloudy in the Tampa area this morning? It is cloudy in Daytona. We had heavy rain last night.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Afghanistan: 1,448
US KIA Irak: 4,438
Iraki, Afghan and Pakistani casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M
US MBS 2011: 620 and counting
Joan of Arc
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things
Everyone must be out getting their Joan of Arc birthday celebration supplies.
Heavy rain most of the night. Cloudy and more rain forecast for the day.
Here’s a nutty comment from the article linked at 13:

This is about math. Not greed. It is impossible for these companies to stay in business with the new health care provisions under their old proffit margins. Pure and simple.
The question is this. Was that the goal to begin with? They didn’t get the single payer system they wanted so just create a situation where we are forced into one after companies start collapsing? Maybe. But of course I’m assuming they are evil geniuses. They might simply be stupid. only time will tell.
One key part of HCR that nobody even seems to be talking about are some of the outrageous fees charged by physicians and hospitals. Sure, doctors deserve to make some money but hospitals sometimes charge patients and their insurance companies hundreds of dollars per meal. Is that for that wonderful delivery service or what? You can get the same food by walking down to cafeteria for five bucks. The corruption and graft isn’t limited to insurance companies and pharmaceuticals. It seems the entire industry has decided that since they are necessary, they should have the right to fleece without shame.
Hmmm. I used “share” so thought you’d get the pic. I will try to download it (it is on another person’s FB page) and send it again in a bit.

What a fucking idiot.
Yeah, everything moves East.Obama health care reform for insurance’s profit set back if obama did not kill real Health Care for the bottom 80%.
Addressing that would be addressing Health Care, like Obama started out to do. But he found that was too hard, so he shifted to Heath Insurance Reform.
Thanks for nothing O.
Obama is sending 1,400 more Marines to Afghanistan. Via Democracy Now!
Gates sending 1,400 more Marines to Afghanistan
But of course I’m assuming they are evil geniuses. They might simply be stupid.
Not necessarily mutually exclusive. The evil and stupid, I mean.
New post up top…
He set out to reform healthcare and found out it was too hard so he turned to reform health insurance and found out that was too hard so he gave them millions of new chattel customers. He’s a spinelees coward, yep.
Oh, that’ll help. This guy is worse than Bush. Period.
Is it the cat holding it’s head under the faucet? That was good! I saw it yesterday.
Yeah… too bad we’re not allowed to comment up there.

I sent an email to the site admin. This often happens to me when I use the nav links at the top or bottom of a post, and getting to it another way “fixes” it, but this one was broken no matter how I got to it (RSS, clicking on the post title, etc.)
It seems to be fixed now.
Looks like it’s working now at this link
The Democrats set the battle field for the bottom 80%.Once again. It was done in the 1970,It was done in the 1990,Now in 2009 and 2010 Obama and the Democrat Senate have and are still setting the battle field so the top 20% will have an easy win.The bottom 80% will loose wages, benifits, jobs,Social Security,Medicare ect.The Democrat set the battle field for the Republican to make the easy touchdown for the top 20%.For the last 40 years Democrats have been playing for the Republicans.
WPR programming note for 10:00 AM CST, usually a very interesting and informative guest:
Robert Reich, Professor of Public Policy, University of California-Berkeley. Former U.S. Secretary of Labor. Author, “Aftershock: The Next Economy and America’s Future”.
Listen or participate online. I’ve enjoyed hearing Reich myself.
Could someone who is great at doing genealogical research do one on Rep King? I would bet money that he has someone in his family tree that was born here in the US before the immigrant parent was a citizen of the US. Which would make all of their descendants void of citizenship based on his bill.
What a completely ignorant remark about Jenny McCarthy and the ongoing Black-op Misdirection Smear-Game that Big Pharma plays on any individual who dares to question why Mercury gets injected into little babies’ bodies.
And that link to CNN and the Wakefield study plays RIGHT into their hands.
My longtime, immense respect for Jane’s blog just went way down..
