Longing for the early years of the Bush administration, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has been consumed by anti-U.S. conspiracy theories, convinced American officials are now working against him, according to a diplomatic cable from the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan…wistfully longing for the early days of the Bush administration, which he referred to as a “golden age.”
I guess there haven’t been any recent pipeline kickbacks and big bags o’ cash.

Possibly the arrest of Juma Khan galls the withers?
Good morning, pups. Life is good! Both MoDo and The Moustache of Wisdom are off today, so we’re spared whatever they would have inflicted on us. Instead of the pearls of wisdom that they would have offered here’s a link to the year-end quiz “The Year in Questions.” As the year draws to a close, The Times presents 100 or so questions to test your recollection of the highs and lows of 2010 — for the sake of auld lang syne.
Here’s a link to the quiz.
Here’s a link to the answers.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got toasted Thomas’ English muffins with lots of butter. If you don’t want to fool with the quiz, just sit back and savor the day without MoDo and The Moustache of Wisdom. Have a great day.
Sure, billions of $100 bills floating around with no oversight and no control. Opium money flowing freely (well as long as the CIA/bushies get their cut). A cockamamy clown in the WH enabling criminal enterprises (as long as the CIA/bushies got their cut) and “security/protection” provided by the prince of crooks what’s not to like. Times were good.
Maybe someone from Faux news can help me with the quiz.
Pretty sure those yahoos could click on the bottom link in Marion’s post first and still fail.
The flying Karzai brothers should take their billions and their harem and retire to Arizona like decent mobsters.
The golden years of not getting criticized for blatant out in the open naked corruption…
I feel great knowing that my money is propping up his regime.
Wow, I want our money back….
Golden Years? What can be expected when gas rises to $5.00 per gallon as predicted by Shell’s Hofmeister?
http://parkerspitzer.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/28/hofmeister-gas-will-cost-5-a-gallon-by-2012/
1975 was not a good year. Nor where the years that followed. The escalating cost of energy due to oil embargoes crippled America as it did in the most recent liberty gouging increases in energy. Five dollar per gallon gas will be the final nail in the coffin for America. Jefferson will have been proven correct as the corporate aristocrats have raped the republic all in the name of profit. The negative consequences of escalating energy cost are predictable. It is a further evisceration of the standard of living. As I recall minimum wage was around $2.10 per hour and a gallon of gas .28-.33 cents, 1975. That was after blips in 70′ and 73′. Today minimum wage $8.00 per hour and the prospects for gas to be more than half your hourly rate of pay is servitude. Now consider you waste 80% percent of that economic value, out your tailpipe! This is a recipe for suicide folks. Food cost will rise and the gutting continues unabated. Golden Year you say? Sure…. and more of the same to come!
As was the slave’s energy exploited for the benefit of his the owner, we the American people are exploited as we continue to waste tremendous wealth and liberty out our tailpipes everyday going no where in virtual servitude to our corporate masters. As America’s energy costs rise the jobs have vaporized! ECON 101!
Actually you probably saw some of the money in the last elections. Tens of millions of unregulated, untraceable money laundered through, among others, the C of C assisting the campaigns of many a goopper/teaparty NF.
The high point of the year 2010 here was the EPA taking its role seriously and beginning to issue permits in TX.
