Darlene Love — Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).
What’s on your mind?
Aloha, Suz…! ;-)
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
Good evening Suze, CTuttle.
I just woke up from a nap and I think I am going right back to sleep.
busted! always good to see your fonts dood — why should i be good?
Busted…! Always a pleasure…! I got drenched today, Suz…! Had to change my apparel even…! ;-)
I’m a little slow coming upstairs, here. I had to turn off the radio today to not hear the words tax cuts and deficit for a few hours.
Da cat ventures to the vet tomorrow and then over to assisted living to see her former owner.
a sneaker shower eh?
hey nonq — how ya doing tonight? a routine vet apt?
Watching ‘Ancient Aliens’ on History Channel. For some reason, watching that series always makes me think about my grandparents, on my mother’s side….
hey robert — how was your day?
So Suz is the little lady watermelon size yet??…
Not good. My writers group revolted against their editor–me!
Yes, simply routine for the cat.
Found out my mother is going to get moved to fully assisted living as soon as there is an opening, though. She’s loosing physical functioning of the legs, feet and mind connection and having trouble walking.
hey nahant — jen’s email is that she is carrying baby carrot this week… how’s deadwood city dood?
I guess Christmas is officially looming.
oh crap.. i’m so sorry
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
hey newton — how’s the west bay tonight? tis 41 outside but no snow and no rain so it just feels cold up here — not christmasy
Two of the best sistahs of sistah goddess music from 60′s to 70′s.
Phil’s Wall Of Sound . . . Motown . . . Berry Gordy.
I’ll venture away from pure Phil and Berry, to say this:
They were all Kings N Queens . . . .
N Suz Hostess Nails This Letterman Love . . . Every Year.
Bless Ya Suz.
hey wigwam — how ya doing tonight?
hey larue — how’s sac tonight? i love her voice and she forking nails this song, year after year. if ya click on her name, it takes ya to her wiki page which has some great info
Lite rain and not so damn cold!! Did you get any snow from that last storm?
nope, has a wee bit the weekend before thanksgiving but not a flake since
I’m sorry to hear that, nonquixote. I remember when the same thing happened to my dad, but he was living with us at the time.
Mr. Lincoln thought it was very funny before the ‘incident’. Me, not so much…
Heh – found this while I was looking for alternative Christmas tunes for your pile Suz. Somebody note it for Southern Dragon for his Caturday posts as I don’t have his email. Heh.
It’s just old age. Spent two hours there today conversing with the several of the residents that I know. They are all so happy that someone stops just to talk. I feel so much better myself for the time spent, too.
You know Christmas around here: 50s, 60s, occasional 70s and occasionally wet.
hey margot — how’s ohio tonight?
hey kelly — how’s denver tonight?
A best of best ever . . . every year . . .
You do good . . . I love Darlene’s voice, thanks!
Weirdly warm and dry.
I want snow, dammit.
thanks dood :)
I sense a story you wish to relate, come on, please…
darlene and bruce
The weather dude was talking about how cold it was, and I couldn’t find my winter jacket. So I went out with a hoodie and shoot, it wasn’t cold. I remember when it was -20 and went up to +20, and I had to roll the car windows down…
steph is wanting snow too :(
dang margot… 20 below wudda forced me to stay inside no matter how many coats i had on
My story is that some of our writers don’t like it when I take my microscope to to their punctuation errors, decrying my classic, traditionalist approach when they have embraced the more laid back acceptance of runon sentences and multitudes of ‘ands’. They say their writing seminars agree with their approach. I say it’s just an excuse for lazy writing…
phenomenal cat wrapping!
hey gw — how ya doing tonight?
Their writing seminars aren’t helping them any, then.
question from the garden tools care seminar: what kind of oil do you use on the tools once you’ve cleaned them?
time ta hit the hay…. nite pups…
Hey Suzanne, I’ve been much enjoying the turmoil over the wikileaks disclosure and the gradual erosion of Obama support and Dkos. I read two excellent articles this evening. One by Will Bunch followed up on his April 2008 interview of Candidate Obama regarding the possible prosecution of American war criminals. Today, in a followup to that interview and subsequent disclosures about how Republican congressmen together with Obama’s State Department leaned on Spanish prosecutors to overlook U.S. war crimes, Bunch called Obama a liar. The other was this excellent perspective on the economy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/02/deficit-fears-may-bring-s_n_791279.html
g’nite nahant — token sends tucker a woof and a tail wag
I thought I had at least a 20 minute window or so…! ;-)
One called me a dictator. I’m a bloody ,-;-:-”- Hitler!
My sincere condolences, nq…! 8-(
Good luck with all that.
that is forking harsh dood
They need new seminars, if their seminars support lazy writing.
I am a survivor of a Largish Sleeze trying to sell me that he wants to help instead of wanting to use me. The kind of experience that makes you not just want to take a shower after talking to the “person”, but wishing you’d taken a shower instead of.
He was hell bent on portraying himself as the good kind of developer in regards to the pristine piece of land that’s in the middle of our subdivision that the school board has put up for sale.
Today was the day potential bidders on the property could ask the school district and its realtor questions.
All was fine. There were the normal good old boy developers being more or less charming. Then as we were leaving this sleeze wheezed in.
Due to my great love for him, the neighbors I went with have taken to calling him my boyfriend. Which makes me vomit for a while before I can resume civilized conversation.
And how are you?
I used to know most of the rules. I had a great HS English teacher. I then set writing aside, other than simple work contracts, for about 22 years until I began keyboarding on my first PC.
oh yuck gw. i’m doing ok thanks.
Yet, when the one that called me a dictator needed me to help improve her story for some contest, and begged me to slice 2000 words that she was over in the guidelines, she couldn’t love me enough when I cleaned up her mess.
At the dictator charge, I responded to the entire group, “I am neither applying for the role of ‘dictator’ nor wish to be suggested to be one. I volunteered my editor skills. I will be far more content to leave the nasty business of editing to someone else.”
Of course I anticipated egos would reach critical mass when our books would begin to really sell well.
um, Hitler, you know, like, killed a lot of people. correcting grammar seems to fall in a more benign category. why do they want to trivialize hitler? why do they hate history?
down to 39 outside now… and i see stars twinkling in the sky — a sight i’ve not seen in a while.
of course, clear skies means its gonna get colder tonight
You learned those rules because the writer in you was interested in knowing them. Do you write fiction?
I love my group, but few of them ever go over their own work for errors before sending to me. No editor worth his or her own salt would tolerate that.
Anything I have on hand. WD40, motor oil, just a very thin film wiped on with a cotton rag. Olive oil keeps my cast iron sealed after using that cookwear, I suppose that would work. If the tools are kept dry, there won’t be much rust.
Here in the Isles we leave a film of WD40 on them…! ;-)
Thanks, I’ve added that to the NonQuixote Garden Tool Care word document.
There is always hope that the instructions will get translated to action here chez greenwarrior.
NPR had an hour on bullying and its effects on people in our culture. Some people were wondering why it seemed so prevalent, but nobody phoned in with our fine congressional leaders calling, ‘chickshit,’ the ideas of their colleagues as a possible example of influence contrary to decent behavior.
Hmmm, just noticed something odd. I’m sitting here with just the TV illuminating the living room, and the cup of green tea I just microwaved is giving off a barely visable glow….
LOL, I’ve been described as anal about taking care of tools. But two of those people will want to ‘borrow,’ my shovel or rake because the handle is so nice they don’t need to wear gloves and don’t get blisters.
the reflection the light from the tv in the steam?
Maybe microwave ovens are like them porn scanners at airports…
“It’s Christmas time, you bastards. People can’t feed their kids. You continue to shovel trillions of dollars at the banks. And all of you — Pelosi, Reid, Obama — you fail the test not only of leadership, but of basic human compassion. Of having any kind of a moral compass.”__Jane Hamsher, December 2, 2010
i love that from jane’s post today. it really says it all, don’t it *sigh*
Sadly the congressional asshats didn’t see the clip and were obviously practicing their indignation addresses to the press well before breakfast this morning.
HR screen today went well, they want to get someone hired before end of the year and resume was forwarded to director.
I’ve got another company calling at 08:30 tomorrow – call from England finally (it’s been 2 weeks).
Not going to stay long.
hey wmd — sounds like a good match — you want to get hired before the end of the year
how ya doing tonight?
Got say though, Harry Reed abruptly decided to make the senate vote on the House-passed middleclass tax cuts only on Saturday. Between Ed Shultz warning of the final straw for progressives, and Jane’s fierce defiant calling those bastards out, we may actually have convinced them they will commit collective suicide if they follow through with another kabuki dance…
Nighters to you Suz, robert and gw and to whomever else is still up. Midwest time is Friday and I’m fading a little. (big yawn) Be well.
I’m hanging in there. Had a meeting tonight. My son wanted help with calculus too, told him I’d do it later…. he asked me to wake him up in Indiana when I’m available.
It’s 2:15 AM there. I’m going to let him sleep and get some sleep myself. It takes a bit of time to go over Riemann sums and integration. He’ll get it though.
i’m worried that we are going to get another ‘cots in the senate’ kabuki horseshit.
we live blogged that last one and i still get pissed about it…
its all rigged
sounds like a plan wmd. get some sleep and i have my fingers and toes crossed for ya dood
Maybe I’m just tired and semi-delusional, but I really think Reed has had it with these sleazy Rethugs. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain after nearly losing his seat to a crazy lady.
and maybe i’m too cynical. time will tell
Well, beddy-bye time for me. Might let my old soul float about the ceiling for awhile.
strange how incredibly clueless my soul is about its condition…
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
’bout time for me to head out folks. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight
