By: emptywheel Monday November 8, 2010 6:52 am

On Friday, Russia joined the growing list of country telling us to investigate our torture chambers. And on the subject of investigating torture, as we’ve been noting, the statute of limitations on the torture tape destruction expires today. Have we indicted anyone yet?

By: David Dayen Monday November 8, 2010 6:01 am

Keith Olbermann, the MSNBC host who was suspended indefinitely last week for making donations to Democrats during the 2010 campaign cycle without permission from NBC News, will return to his show Countdown on Tuesday.

In other news, Mika Brzezinski is a massive liar.

Sunday Late Night: Young Wall Street Gives Back

By: Teddy Partridge Sunday November 7, 2010 8:01 pm

Not to get all quant-y on Young Wall Street, but let’s do the math, shall we?

Getting Out of a Felony Because Your Employer Won’t Employ Felons

By: Teddy Partridge Sunday November 7, 2010 7:00 pm

President Obama on 60 Minutes

By: Jane Hamsher Sunday November 7, 2010 5:47 pm

OBAMA: And so, you then have to start making some tough decisions about how do we pay for those things that we think are important? And you know, we’re not gonna be able to balance the budget just by slashing the National Parks budget, even if you didn’t think that was a proper function of government. We’re not gonna be able to balance the budget by, you know, eliminating the National Weather Service.

I mean, we’re gonna have to, you know, tackle some big issues like entitlements that, you know, when you listen to the Tea Party or you listen to Republican candidates they promise we’re not gonna touch.

A Video for Those Who Don’t Think Marijuana Legalization Would Hurt the Cartels

By: Jon Walker Sunday November 7, 2010 5:00 pm

This video is of 30 tons of marijuana. It was seized by authorities from a single tunnel running under the Mexican-American border, near San Diego. This 30 tons, that is 60,000 pounds, is merely the amount of marijuana this single active tunnel had on hand. The total amount of marijuana that over time was moved through just this one tunnel was probably much higher.

Rand Paul: I Can Be A Spoiled Child, Because Adults Will Stop Me

By: Scarecrow Sunday November 7, 2010 4:00 pm

Apparently, Rand Paul thinks being a U.S. Senator means he gets to stomp his feet and throw a temper tantrum whenever he wants to “send a message.” And the reason it’s okay is because he’s assuming enough adults in Congress will be responsible enough not to give him what he wants.
