We have prime rib leftovers, stuffing leftovers (the lobster is gone), pecan pie leftovers, and some tiger prawns to grill on Sunday. :-D

While our respective ‘Winters’ differ (greatly), I’m glad we finally have a chance for steady moisture. It has been ugly-dry overall.

lessee, mom sent home mashed potatoes, gravy, rutabagas, sliced turkey, turkey carcass for soup, my sis-in-law gave me some green bean casserole, my sis shared her cranberry salsa, yum. Tomorrow is turkey soup day.

the gathering made sure there was no pie for leftovers. I must say, my mom has always made the best pie i’ve ever tasted. So, i had to have some ice cream for dessert tonight after my leftovers supper. *g*

As reported by the Hydrogen Link Denmark Association, a recent government climate plan calls for strong investments in hydrogen fuelling stations, allowing for all new car sales in 2025 to be electric and hydrogen only.

15 Million Euro ($19.57 Million) of the recent German economic stimulus package is dedicated to increase hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The funding language states that Germany expects to have hydrogen fuel cell vehicles commercialized by 2015 and that hydrogen infrastructure needs to be in over supply at this time.

GM needs government help business plus government working together to create green jobs or GM can expect to lose the EU car market.

Once our furnace broke, and we went to the mall to warm up. There we met a friend who had a brother-in-law who had a used furnace for sale. Thank god. It was a cold couple of weeks.

The 2015 goal is to build 15 large-scale production and fueling facilities and 30 satellite stations for smaller volumes and to distribute hydrogen in rural areas. The SHHP intends to have these stations used by 100 buses, 500 cars and 500 specialty vehicles.

Solar energy could create hydrogen and desalinated water at the same time.
Killing two birds so to speak. It would be infrastructure. No need for private INCS. to own any of it. They could help build it though.

In September 2008, the European Parliament passed a regulation that implements a simplified process for hydrogen vehicle approvals. The objectives of the regulation are to unify requirements in all 27 States for hydrogen fueled vehicles, treat hydrogen vehicles the same as conventional vehicles and to ensure the same level of safety as conventional vehicles.

By creating a market before we do the EU can set standards for fuel cell cars based on their tech. In order to make fuel cell cars show a profit we have to build enough of them to have cost of scale savings.
Can we do that without following Europe’s regulations and conforming to their tech?
We are falling behind.

Simple the answer is Hydrogen

Denmark’s first full-scale wind-Hydrogen energy plant and testing facility, the Lolland Hydrogen Community, began operation in May 2007. It is also the European Union’s first full-scale Hydrogen Community Demonstration facility for residential Fuel Cell Combined Heat and Power (CHP).[1]
Located in the city of Nakskov on the island of Lolland, where wind power is abundant, the hydrogen energy plant has received funding from the Danish Energy Authority, and is a joint partnership between the Municipality of Lolland, IRD Fuel Cells, and Baltic Sea Solutions. The island is producing 50% more energy from renewable energy sources than it consumes, and the hydrogen project is seeking to locally store excess wind power in the form of hydrogen for use in residential and industrial facilities.[1]
Hydrogen is produced by using excess wind power to electrolyze water to produce hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen is used in the municipal water treatment plant nearby to speed up the biological process. The hydrogen is stored in low-pressure storage tanks at six bars and fuels two PEM Fuel Cell Micro Combined Heat and Power (CHP) stations of 2 kilowatts (kW) and 6.5 kW, respectively.[1]

If Iran gets hit by Israel and or America fuel cells become the big ticket because they use no gas as oil prices explode as Iran starts sinking oil tankers. If they shoot even one oil tanker oil Prices will go north of $5 a gallon.

Cool! We on the W. coast and S.W. need desalinated water too. We’ve got the deserts for the solar energy to do it, but alas it gets back to that political will thingy.

Don’t farmers in California complain about a lack of water if we can get the farm lobby to back clean green power to create fresh water from sea water for fuel cells and farms we might get the funding we need to create a fuel cell economy before the EU and Japan do.
