Country music in the overall has a lot to answer for. I grew up hearing (and cringing at) Hank Williams (the senior) and Merle Haggard and their contemporaries.
Mild weather. Full moon last night. It was cloudy today, but I should at least stick my head out to see if the moon is up, but I’m too lazy to do that.
It is so warm here in Cleveland, that i went out in my apron and put up all the Christmas lights in the dark! I had all my wire twist-ties and dangled star and icicle lights all over the doorway. Whew!
Aw, I had a fantastic time, but no one LOVED me (even thought I never said that I was American, it was pretty obvious the instant I opened my mouth (Delaware).
I was watching the food channel earlier and one of the things I like about it is tips you wouldn’t ordinarily think about. One of which was to get a lath saw from your hardware store to cut the top off your pumpkin. I stopped trying to deal with real pumpkin in favor of canned because any knife I had was inadequate. Next year I might have the right tool and try the real thing again.
We have nowhere near the appropriate clothing for that.
I have a friend from here who was about to send his kid off to Northwestern a few years back.
He took him to Eddie Bauer to stock up on cold-weather gear, and when the kid arrived at school, his dormies laughed like hell.
Aloha, ed…! I was out most of the day picking up the bird and all the fixings…! Man, it costs an arm and a leg for butternut squash here…! $2.49 a lb…! *gah*
The other thing that the program pointed out was that after baking & pureeing pumpkin, you can freeze the leftovers after making the pie for future usage. So all the work gets spread out over several cooking experiences. And if you have good local pumpkins, as we do here, it would probably be worth it. Also recommended one of those flat ended ice cream scoops for scraping out the pulp. Great for that, if not for scooping ice cream.
I won’t tell you what I’m paying for my fresh organic turkey, although it’s less than last year per pound. It got such raves, I decided it was worth the splurge. Certainly was the best I’ve eaten since I was a kid & food was real.
I became reacquainted with butternut squash last year. I’d forgotten how delicious it is. I need to ask all my gardening friends why they don’t grow it. I’m always good for volunteering for their excess produce. *g*
Thanks, Margot!
I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving. Patty finally moved here and started at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Jack engaged to be married in 2011. This should be a really good year!
I brine ours for two or three days before roasting… I will be cooking our tomorrow as we are going to my sweeties for the T day… I mean you just have ta cook one so ya can have all those left overs don’tcha??
Yes…agreed, butternut is special…
another one is hubbard…don’t see them every where…
and then my favorite…Hokaido…
a japanese variety…just totally outrageous taste!
Something that reinforces my faith in actual people – running my fraud case found that it was 1 out of 1,000 peeps/customers that cheated. 1 Basis point, not even 1 percent.
I brine, too. But always have my feet under my best friend’s table. This year, my brined turkey will be for Christmas. Hello! One turkey approx. 14 lbs. to one cup kosher salt. Overnight, rinse. roast.
Brining seems all the rage these days. Next generation is doing the cooking (yeah!!!) at my sil’s, where I am bringing the turkey.
I cooked an ordinary turkey breast from the supermarket in October for a neighbor & her Chinese house guest who had never had a traditional TG dinner. Next time I get one of those, I’ll try the brining thing. It seems like overkill on a fresh organic, to be honest.
Wow. Hearty welcomes all around. Pls excuse the Sarah Palin typos.
CTuttle, hello, hello!
eCahn! Hello. Ecahn do you do facebook at all? I sort of zip in and out these days, so I don’t know who’s around when most of the time. I haven’t connected with selise in ages either.
I hadn’t looked it up, but that was my impression. Don’t know why you’d need to do that for a fresh organic that is tender & delicious. But, as I said, for supermarket variety, might be worth the experiment.
Brining really works, eCAHN, I was a skeptic until I tried it a couple years ago when I had to cook two birds one T-day, so I tried it out on one of ‘em…! It’s so much juicier and tastier…! ;-)
one cup kosher salt, one cup brown sugar, one cup of apple cider vinegar, one or two beers, crushed garlic, chopped onion. chopped apple, fresh finely chopped rosemary , fresh basil and of course 1/2 cup of Chef Paul’s poultry spice. Clean & wash turkey. Put every thing in a large enough container so that the turkey is completely submerged cover and keep in a cool/cold place. After two or three days rinse, stuff and roast slowly…
I registered at facebook so I could see a wedding pic from demi’s son’s wedding. (Think it was her son.) Anyhow, shortly thereafter got a buncha emails from peeps who wanted to be my ‘friend’ who I didn’t want to know that much about. I unregistered PDQ. I have strong hermit tendencies, so my emotional reaction to facebook is prolly not common.
My nephew prepared deep fried turkey one year. It was delicious. It isn’t heart clogging, as the grease in the bird (not much in an organic, so no need to do it for that kind) gets sucked out into the hot fat. If you’ve noticed, the supermarket roasted chicken is much greasier than than the deep fried. And if you do the latter at home, you don’t have to put all that batter on the outside. For turkey, though, you can only do it for smaller birds, and every TG I’m at a larger dinner.
Heh. Some friends & I decided last night that as soon as lettuce disappears from all menus the better. Almost any leafy green makes a better salad base or sandwich topper than any kind of lettuce. Am on an arugula binge these days.
I saw one of the birds my ex brother-in-law had done and it just seemed to be potentially over the top for clogged pipes, but it sure smelled amazing! Your explanation makes a lot of sense, so now I see why he liked so much!
I sometimes think about Elvis and his famous fried chicken recipe with peanut butter and potato chips…whoa dood…not too healthy EL!
Well really, if you add peanut butter & potato chips, waddaya expect.
I have made 2 recipes for pumpkin soup. One was cloyingly sweet. The other was great. The big diff was peanut butter in the latter, which cut the sweetness to just the right amount. So peanut butter has its usages.
Hi eCAHNomics!
So nice to see you here! Yesterday I made spiced walnut pumpkin bread. Turned out great even though I used Canned pumkpin.
I did the brining thing a few years ago based on a book, The Science of Cooking. I think it turned out good but not great. This year will be doing a
Turkey using the techniqu of putting frozen icepacks on the breasts before cooking to change their cooking speed.
The pieces/parts all cook differently on a turkey. So if you cut it up and cook it in the different parts/pieces it comes out better; re-assemble for presentation at the table. Since people expect it to be carved VOILA!
I once bought a roasted turkey (cold) for a NY eve party from somewhere in NYC. They sliced it & put it back on the skeleton so it looked like a whole roast turkey, but you could take out your slice. Quite a presentation!
By the way you aren’t a regular LLNer so you might not have heard about my Spocko Squad. When it comes time I’d like your expertise for the team. Today I spent 4 hours reading NewsCorp financial documents. I’m working to find a Sarbane Oxley violation made by Murdoch.
I’m a macroeconomist, not an accountant, so it sounds like I do not have the right skills for your project. But good luck on it; first principles suggest there would be a lot of dirt buried in the footnotes.
Tradition here is, sandwiches made from leftovers, including someone who just loves mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce sandwiches, double takes on all pies that are left, and good fresh coffee!
It’s not the accountant part I need help with it is attitudes based on your time working in the Environment. And your comment just now is exactly the kind of thing I need. You see one of the things that I have found when I takle these big projects is a lot of people who instead of helping figure out the roadblocks and how to get around them, or find another target, they are eager to tell me how impossible the task is. So for example, my brother told me not to challenge Disney on copyright issues. Many said that right wing talk radio was too popular to have an impact and why bother. What I needed then was people helping me see that my way could work or how to modify my approach to be more effective.
So, you have already helped :-) thank you.
Yeffet’s claim is deliberately phrased to give the impression that everyone is treated equally.
That is not the case. Readers should note that the term “interview” is subjective and can take on different forms and degrees.
For example, Israeli Jews are usually asked a few basic questions:
Did you pack your own bags? What is your destination?
Then, another group of passengers, usually foreign anglo-saxon passengers are asked the same questions above, with the added emphasis on purpose and intent. What was/is the purpose of your visit? Did anyone help you pack your bags? Did you leave your bags unattended? Did anyone give a gift or a package?
In most cases the passenger is allowed to check in. But, in a few cases, the passenger is instructed to open his/her bags. Security personnel then look quickly through the bags, the employee puts his/her hand inside to feel for unusual objects. If that inspection is satisfactory, the passenger is allowed to board.
Now, non-Jewish citizens of Israel (and non-Israeli Muslims and Arabs), receive a special treatment.
Upon arrival at the terminal, the passenger is asked the aforementioned questions, he or she is then instructed to put his bags through an x-ray machine. Once that stage is complete, the passenger is escorted to a special inspection room. There, all the contents of the bags are emptied. Each item is then taken into another room for additional inspection. Once all the contents have been emptied, the bags themselves are examined and taken in for additional screening.
Meanwhile, the passenger is taken into a booth behind a curtain, where he or she is asked to strip naked, completely.
Security staff then proceed to examine the passenger’s under arms, hair, and all cavities.
At the conclusion of this stage, the passenger is then instructed to take his bags and check in. All the while, he is escorted to the check in counter. Once checked in, that passenger is escorted to passport control, up to the point where he/she have passed through the metal detector just after passport control.
Israel has an agreement with foreign airlines where each airline must have designated seats for security personnel. So, a non-Jewish passenger may request a window seat, but due to the unavailability of a “security seat” nearby, that passenger is moved to a different seat where he can be kept under constant watch.
Thus, as you can see, everyone is “interviewed”. But, some are “interviewed” more than others.
There was that British financier who apparently jumped from his yacht when he was about to be caught red-handed by close readers of his financial statement footnotes. Think it was toward the end of the 80s. Can’t think of his name right now. But a Murdoch sort, to be sure.
Matt Taibbi was the one who told me what these guys were afraid of, “it’s not journalists,” he said. He said that they aren’t afraid of much, except the SEC. So I went looking at SEC rules they might be violating.
Yes I know they have a million lawyers and CFOs but I also know that Murdoch is a liar and I’ve worked with CEOs and CFOs of billion dollar companies and often times the CFOs tear their hair out at CEOs comments during financial calls. Especially when they are off script. That is where I think he lied. What I have to do is tie the lies together with original research that proves he is not accurately informing investors. Then give it to The SEC.
The vaunted safety of El-Al is nothing more than discrimination. They don’t care if they keep innocent Muslims off their planes, as in their minds, there are no innocent Muslims.
I’ve typed several times that the El-Al procedures are prolly about as accurate as polygraphs, so why doesn’t the U.S. just require every passenger to undergo a poly?
When I traveled a lot by air, they used to ask those Qs about my bags being in my possession, etc. I knew what the right A was, and always gave it, including all the times my packed bag was checked at the hotel before I left for the a/p, or under the ‘care’ of the car & driver who was carting me around for that days meetings. And believe me, I never sweated or lost eye contact while I lied with gay abandon.
I am sick of seeing that kind of crap. And I just saw Dubhaltach’s note too.
And I find myself somehow having to defend my darling and delightful baby Russian Jew and despising what has happened with the Gorilla’s Guides clan and and I just can’t stand any of it anymore.
The young Fortune reporter who figured out Enron before the collapse found all the info she needed in their public footnotes. Forget her name, but iirc, she was only in her late 20s at the time, so ‘hadn’t graduated from kindergarten,’ meaning she hadn’t figured out that her betters didn’t want her to read the footnotes.
So yes, death by footnote in several disparate instances.
On a previous note for thanksgiving I’m making a cranberry apple almond crisp and an Apple iPie. It’s 10x better than a regular apple pie but Steve Jobs get a slice of everyone.
Wow, my local news are showing video clips of the Korean artillery exchange…! They said over 200 rounds have been exchanged and they’re evacuating the island right now…!
She is my model. I spent 17 years working for the smartest engineers and computer scientists in the world. I was always the dumbest man in the room, but I also know that greed and arrogance can get in the way of doing the right thing.
The most recent Harpers Magazine did a story about Murdoch’s history of lying to get away with paying taxes.
When asked about it he lied. When caught he when to Newt, raised money for Pence to get the charge dropped and he didn’t have to pay a fee. He also used the threat of disbanding the FCC to get his way.
Rosen has already hit AIPAC where it counts, in the pocketbook…! He’s peeled off some of the largest donors…! I think it’s about time that AIPAC is forced under the FARA act…!
*heh* I wasn’t inferring that one iota, I’m just hoping that it dents AIPAC and enables many of our Politicos to say no thanks to AIPAC’s monies and sway…! ;-)
Tuttle!!
Jeebus, tuttle – keep doing what you’re doing.
Lady Antebellum – terrific.
Good evening CT. How are you this evening?
Went to sleep too early, then woke up & thought I’d join everyone before I get sleepy again.
Congrats, nahant…!
Hello All! CT, Nahant, Newt, and eCAHN, and others… back from St.John’s Newfoundland, and watching the Shipping News now!
It’s nice to know that country music is in capable hands, eh…? ;-)
Aloha, eCAHN…! I hate when that happens…! How’s New York this evening/morning…?
nice toonage dood
Aloha, CE…! Don’t get me started on Newfie jokes…! ;-)
Country music in the overall has a lot to answer for. I grew up hearing (and cringing at) Hank Williams (the senior) and Merle Haggard and their contemporaries.
But Hillary Scott is something.
Aloha, Suz…! Mahalo…! How’s your little inlet tonite…?
Mild weather. Full moon last night. It was cloudy today, but I should at least stick my head out to see if the moon is up, but I’m too lazy to do that.
It is so warm here in Cleveland, that i went out in my apron and put up all the Christmas lights in the dark! I had all my wire twist-ties and dangled star and icicle lights all over the doorway. Whew!
Can you beleive that American Idol passed her over, twice even…?
Aw, I had a fantastic time, but no one LOVED me (even thought I never said that I was American, it was pretty obvious the instant I opened my mouth (Delaware).
American Idol? What’s that?
We’re all the way down to a low, low 52.
Snow, by Friday, here!
had a brief snowfall a wee bit earlier — the deck looks like it was dusted with sparkly powdered sugar — how’s paradise?
but hey it is no way in hell Warm.. tis a chill in the air no matter what the temp says.. the wood burner is going full bore..
CT…what’s happenin?
Evenin FireDogs!
The full moon is waning and the frost is on the pumpkins
and the whip cream is on the pies!!!
I’ll second that. Nicely done Mr. Tuttle.
That’s a funny story.
Yea! I do love the first sparkly snowfall — hey Suzanne!
I never made it to Newfoundland or Labrador, but, I’ve been to PEI and all the other provinces…! ;-)
Btw, I think they blame us for Harper…!
WE Love ya! Even if you are from Delaware :-)
It was a mixed bag today… Too cloudy to see the moon tonite…!
Mahalo, RBG…! Wanted to play some country tonite…! ;-)
Halloo peeps! Finally done with work!
What’re the happenings?
We have nowhere near the appropriate clothing for that.
I have a friend from here who was about to send his kid off to Northwestern a few years back.
He took him to Eddie Bauer to stock up on cold-weather gear, and when the kid arrived at school, his dormies laughed like hell.
Serrated heavy blade is the way to go…real pumpkin takes more time…but uuuummmmhhh! GOOD!
Naw, eCAHN, canned is the best, really.
Cringing at Hank Williams Sr.? Haven’t you ever heard a lonesome whiperwill? Damn! But, I will agree with you that Hillary Scott is special.
Thanks, love! DelaWhere?
hey ce
Aloha, ed…! I was out most of the day picking up the bird and all the fixings…! Man, it costs an arm and a leg for butternut squash here…! $2.49 a lb…! *gah*
I just had to close a window, I think we’re in the 50s here too.
Yeah…canned pumpkin sure can help if you have lots and lots of pies to make…
as long as it doesn’t taste like pumpkin jello…some of that can stuff is none too tasty…
I second that!
Hey, I’m freezing.
& edve,
The other thing that the program pointed out was that after baking & pureeing pumpkin, you can freeze the leftovers after making the pie for future usage. So all the work gets spread out over several cooking experiences. And if you have good local pumpkins, as we do here, it would probably be worth it. Also recommended one of those flat ended ice cream scoops for scraping out the pulp. Great for that, if not for scooping ice cream.
Hey Suzanne!
Four days of vacation were wonderful, but I had little contact with the world while away. Great to see you here.
Hey nice choice of music btw.
Hey Margot! Fancy seeing you here, girl!
That just isn’t right…butternuts used to be a dime a dozen…$2.49 a pound…yikes dood! You are gonna have to grow your own patch in paradise….
I won’t tell you what I’m paying for my fresh organic turkey, although it’s less than last year per pound. It got such raves, I decided it was worth the splurge. Certainly was the best I’ve eaten since I was a kid & food was real.
Mui, don’t be such a stranger:)
How goes it Newt long time no see?
Of course, I have to replay the music from the beginning every time I submit a comment, until I realize I can open 2 windows.
Aloha, oldgold…! It’s a pleasure to see ya on a LLN thread…!
Nothing could be stranger than being a stranger.
I’m so fagged though.
Nice mellow music though. Good choice.
Breaking news – maybe; North Korea and South Korea exchanging artillery fire, according to MSNBC TV.
Cold!
Working late and taking a short break.
Mahalo, Mui…! It’s also great to see ya at LLN…! ;-)
OMG…another front that ObamaCo can stick his fingers into!!!
I brine ours for two or three days before roasting… I will be cooking our tomorrow as we are going to my sweeties for the T day… I mean you just have ta cook one so ya can have all those left overs don’tcha??
Hey mui1, long time, no comments! How’re you doing?
Having served over there, that does not bode well at all…! 8-(
Yes…agreed, butternut is special…
another one is hubbard…don’t see them every where…
and then my favorite…Hokaido…
a japanese variety…just totally outrageous taste!
Something that reinforces my faith in actual people – running my fraud case found that it was 1 out of 1,000 peeps/customers that cheated. 1 Basis point, not even 1 percent.
Happy. Smiling. For a minute.
I brine, too. But always have my feet under my best friend’s table. This year, my brined turkey will be for Christmas. Hello! One turkey approx. 14 lbs. to one cup kosher salt. Overnight, rinse. roast.

CTuttle, hello, hello!
eCahn! Hello. Ecahn do you do facebook at all? I sort of zip in and out these days, so I don’t know who’s around when most of the time. I haven’t connected with selise in ages either.
You ever try kabocha…?
If you get your hands on a Hokkaido squash!
Kelly.
I don’t get this whole brining thing. Brining is actually pre-cooking. It’s pickling, actually. A kind of pre-cooking.
I find facebook creepy beyond tolerance, so no, I don’t do it.
I emailed selise a month or so ago & heard that she is OK, taking a break from online & sends her regards to everyone.
Yes…and many other varieties…
the japanese types are quite good.
Along the DMZ? I shouldn’t ask that question. Right now my head’s ready to explode if I have to take in more bloodshed and mayhem.
Huh! It is?
I hadn’t looked it up, but that was my impression. Don’t know why you’d need to do that for a fresh organic that is tender & delicious. But, as I said, for supermarket variety, might be worth the experiment.
My ex-brother-in-law used to swear by deep-fried turkey…
maybe delicious, but I fear it is a real heart clogger!
Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything. It was a blurb from MSNBC in another window I’m watching.
Brining really works, eCAHN, I was a skeptic until I tried it a couple years ago when I had to cook two birds one T-day, so I tried it out on one of ‘em…! It’s so much juicier and tastier…! ;-)

Clean & wash turkey. Put every thing in a large enough container so that the turkey is completely submerged cover and keep in a cool/cold place. After two or three days rinse, stuff and roast slowly…
I want to try a marinara sauce on spaghetti squash (just saw that today on a food show)…sounds yummy.
The brine tenderizes the bird and draws out the flavor!
I believe that is the 3am phone call Hilary was referring to.
CNN, FOX and MSNBC have yet to go ‘live’, so it MUST be erroneous…
I registered at facebook so I could see a wedding pic from demi’s son’s wedding. (Think it was her son.) Anyhow, shortly thereafter got a buncha emails from peeps who wanted to be my ‘friend’ who I didn’t want to know that much about. I unregistered PDQ. I have strong hermit tendencies, so my emotional reaction to facebook is prolly not common.
Beg to differ but brining almost any poultry really makes a better roast or for that matter any chunk of bird…
I’d scanned all the majors MSNBC, CNN, etc and not a peep, but, they’re all in repeat mode anyways, sooo…!
Give this a whirl!!
Belch and I are flying tomorrow to my folks place in Phoenix.
I can’t claim turkey duty, so I’ve promised Belch I’ll just shut up about whatever the parental units have planned.
But I AM claiming saucier and pantry/salad duty. I refuse to let them fuck up the entire meal, regardless of what they intend for the turkey.
Not really it is a method of tenderizing. the salt doesn’t stay in the meat it draws moisture into the meat..
OMG, my brining will never be the same!
Hey, be the Salad KIng, for sure.
This seems familiar. Like Deja vu

As I said, I’ll give it a try next time. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Ahh. I think you can fiddle with privacy settings to filter that out. But I can’t blame you for getting creepd out.
This type of controversy is what cook-offs are for.
I Kill Your Turkey. Heh.
Brining is really a very ancient food technique! We need Dr.Dick here to comment…he could give the lowdown on it I’m sure!
Heh. Some friends & I decided last night that as soon as lettuce disappears from all menus the better. Almost any leafy green makes a better salad base or sandwich topper than any kind of lettuce. Am on an arugula binge these days.
I am not interested enough to fiddle with filters, which in any event sounds vaguely prono, and creepy in its own right. *g*
Wow, that’s a new one for me. Thanks, Ed!
evening, firegods
I saw one of the birds my ex brother-in-law had done and it just seemed to be potentially over the top for clogged pipes, but it sure smelled amazing! Your explanation makes a lot of sense, so now I see why he liked so much!
I sometimes think about Elvis and his famous fried chicken recipe with peanut butter and potato chips…whoa dood…not too healthy EL!
True dat CT!
And, more to the point, I fucking KILL your apple pie, bitchez!
Evening PPDCUS…Congrats on the #100!!!
Hi PPD, how is your beautiful coast?
OK! Is that with the regular crust or the lattice crust…your on!
Well really, if you add peanut butter & potato chips, waddaya expect.
I have made 2 recipes for pumpkin soup. One was cloyingly sweet. The other was great. The big diff was peanut butter in the latter, which cut the sweetness to just the right amount. So peanut butter has its usages.
thanks, ed — NBFD — just means that I got to the party 99 posts late.
Great sounding recipe for apple pie on food channel today. I’ll see if I can find it.
Nah that will never happen, I use my Mom’s recipe and apple pie is one of her best.
Aloha, PPD…! Congrats on the century mark…! ;-)
hiya margot – just another crummy day in paradise
hiya CT — how’s paradise west tonight?
Sounds like game on…! Ya’ll will just have to mail me slices and I’ll declare the victor…! 8-)
Here’s the pie, you non-believers.
[hands on hips]
If ya haven’t read it yet this is well worth the read.:
Roll Back the Reagan Tax Cuts
I LOVE peanut butter…!!!
hey nahant – ready for thanksgiving?
I just had to do THIS!
I remember that from last year. Incredible.
PIE!
Smooch!
yup!! Just have to make a salad and hor de whores for 10. Easy smoked salmon on crackers..cream cheese..
don’t give TSA any ideas!!!
Aloha, Spocko…! You definitely live up to your nom de plume, eh…? ;-)
Ya don’t remember my pies?? both peach and apple? or is that the chili clouded your mind?? hrumph…
I make pumpkin spice bread. Always use canned pumpkin but I might try the real thing next time.
Dirty little secret – you know what?
The pieces/parts all cook differently on a turkey. So if you cut it up and cook it in the different parts/pieces it comes out better; re-assemble for presentation at the table. Since people expect it to be carved VOILA!
TSA has promised no cavity searches…….. for now.
the habaneros
I once bought a roasted turkey (cold) for a NY eve party from somewhere in NYC. They sliced it & put it back on the skeleton so it looked like a whole roast turkey, but you could take out your slice. Quite a presentation!
evening, eCAHN – ltns
Monmouth mountain to get 81″ of fresh snow. We will have temps down in the 20′s tomorrow night… Brrrrr Stoke that wood burner!!
Frankly, I think that’s the real reason my dad and step aren’t coming here this year and insist that we go THERE this year.
It’s that damn patting down and porno shit. Dad flew up here in August and was all “huh.”
Ya know that just might cloud more than just your mind…./s
outstanding … oh oh, Kohl’s is opening at 3 am to get a jump on black friday
My holiday travels involve intercity buses for TG & train for Xmas. I’d avoid flying anywhere these days. It sounds like a grossity beyond tolerance.
By the way you aren’t a regular LLNer so you might not have heard about my Spocko Squad. When it comes time I’d like your expertise for the team. Today I spent 4 hours reading NewsCorp financial documents. I’m working to find a Sarbane Oxley violation made by Murdoch.
We’ll make these little apple pancake/crepe things on Friday after Thanksgiving. Tradition. Does anyone else do that?
Oh and if anyone is thinking of deep fat frying a turkey. Be sure to watch this!
http://www.google.com/search?q=video+of+deep+frying+turkey+fire&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari
If the Palin Express pushes to Big Sur on Wed, we’ll have snow on Mt. Toro & Chews Ridge in Carmel Valley into the weekend.
I’m a macroeconomist, not an accountant, so it sounds like I do not have the right skills for your project. But good luck on it; first principles suggest there would be a lot of dirt buried in the footnotes.
Nice for you! Don’t have the luxury, meself.
On another note, Belch is all “don’t get cute with the TSA” ’cause I was all “HEY! Where’s them magnetic letters! Let’s put them on our dicks!”
Alas, no funny little jokes for me on this trip.
And there is no climate change going on… sure..
No, but sounds delicious.
Tradition here is, sandwiches made from leftovers, including someone who just loves mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce sandwiches, double takes on all pies that are left, and good fresh coffee!
Monterey Bay weather could get colder as the central valley burns up — that’s my prediction.
Wishing all a good night and because my fonts will not be seen around here for awhile…
Happy Thanks and Giving…travel safe to those who must…and
Peace!
Where’s Belch’s sense of adventure…? ;-)
appelskivers?
Aloha, ed…! You will be missed…! *g*
Hot turkey sandwiches with lots and lots of gravy, stuffing and of course the cranberry sauce mmmmm can’t wait..
He’s been through the Chinese Visa process AND Israeli security. He has no sense of humour about plane travel. I’m just silly in belch’s world.
Well of ta hit the hay pups. enjoy the coming turkey!!
night pups WTF is EDIT???
Speaking of Israeli security checks…
Then give it to The SEC.
death by footnote, eCAHN?
Of course.
You know what?
It really does take a toll…! I haven’t posted recently because I’m too disgusted with Obummer’s complete capitulation to Bibi and the Likudniks…! 8-(
Israel spying in U.S. story. Yawn. The U.S. is a wholly owned sub of Israel.
Wow, my local news are showing video clips of the Korean artillery exchange…! They said over 200 rounds have been exchanged and they’re evacuating the island right now…!
Heh. Since I hate my ipod, I would never buy another Apple product.
night all – be well — happy thanksgiving
She is my model. I spent 17 years working for the smartest engineers and computer scientists in the world. I was always the dumbest man in the room, but I also know that greed and arrogance can get in the way of doing the right thing.
The most recent Harpers Magazine did a story about Murdoch’s history of lying to get away with paying taxes.
When asked about it he lied. When caught he when to Newt, raised money for Pence to get the charge dropped and he didn’t have to pay a fee. He also used the threat of disbanding the FCC to get his way.
I’m keeping a close eye on the Rosen v. AIPAC case…! Early Dec. Rosen’s response will be filed…!
Good night!
The next Kim, little Un, needs to establish his creds, no doubt.
Aloha, PPD…! ;-)
Of course, times are very different from the 1990s. The crooked corps are now free to cheat in every possible way with no negative consequences.
Don’t holdjer breath. Israel has carte blanche with U.S.
Rosen has already hit AIPAC where it counts, in the pocketbook…! He’s peeled off some of the largest donors…! I think it’s about time that AIPAC is forced under the FARA act…!
Wish I had a nickel for every time anyone predicted Israel’s hold over the U.S. was weakening.
Well, I need to get up early tomorrow, Mahalo, for the awesome conversations tonite…! I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu…! Aloha Oe…! *g*
*heh* I wasn’t inferring that one iota, I’m just hoping that it dents AIPAC and enables many of our Politicos to say no thanks to AIPAC’s monies and sway…! ;-)
I’ve noted many times that hope is a 4-letter word. I’ll believe it when I see it & not a nanosecond before..
