Constantly reversing yourself on every major issue facing the country for political expedience is extra Mavericky!
Oh wait, McSame was never a Maverick, that’s right.
Good morning BT.
Wendell Potter is guest on democracynow, talking about his new book Deadly Spin.
Hilary sez the U.S. knowz better what’s good for Afghans than Afghans do.
Hillary praises Netanyahu for being favorable toward getting $3 billion for 90 day settlement freeze.
Truly disgusting people at the top of USG.
Change you can believe in.
For those not obsessed with “viewership” issues, life goes on in the real world, as in Venezuela where there currently is a low tolerance for bankster fraud.
Mornin’, BT, pups
Get yer biggest shovels out cuz the New York Fed is dumpin’ a huge load of horseshit on us:
Under Attack, Fed Officials Defend Buying of Bonds
Blackmail payments? Might Israel with their vast surveillance array know something that the USG doesn’t want the public to know?
Not much rule of law there, if Chavez can just do that on his own say-so.
Morning BT and Firepups:
Breaking News on the Deficit Commission.
Countries with that structure are at the mercy of who is in charge, but Chavez apparently is making the right moves. No Venezuelans (except perhaps the banksters) are leaving the country, but Colombians are flooding in across the frontier.
Morning, BT.
This, combined with Jon Stewart’s DADT repeal takedown of McCain, made for a bad media day for Ace. Stewart especially, having been quite a rabid fan back in the day. It’s sad watching a pundit/comedian fall out of love, but Jon is.
And Rachel is simply a national treasure.
Spencer reports that a freeze is not a deterrent to the establishing of new settlements. The $3 is simply a ransom payment.
Is it just me or does it seem morally bankrupt to force janitors and ditch-diggers and auto mechanics to retire later because lawyers and banksters and politicians are living longer.
But hey, we’re #1. We just treat our working class like #2.
America – Fuck yeah…
I’m glad Maddow is finally challenging President McCain.
I’m tired of her always picking on poor ol’ Senator Obama.
$3 billion
We know that. Nothing deters Israel. They’ll just take the $3billion & then fart at Hillary.
I’m pretty sure these idiots are on crack.
In case anyone hasn’t seen this. Hoot. Sort of…
Chavez. What a rotten Commie?
I’m glad we ain’t as primitive as them Venezualeans.
God Bless America!
Heh. Countries like the U.S. are also subject to who’s in charge.
Just pointing out the bad process; in both places, if you will.
That is partly the reason for the French strikes. The folks who have physically demanding and dangerous work are more at risk if the French retirement age were raised to 62, than those will less stressful employment. In France, the public sympathizes with the the most vulnerable. In the U.S., not so much.
“The Ben Bernanke has never…”
QE for Dummies. Fer sure, fer sure, said Valley Girl.
No fucking tax cut extensions, no fucking deals, no fucking compromises, no fucking prisoners.
Chavez is in charge, but his socialist agenda is supported by the people of Venezuela. Venezuela has a stronger social safety net (free higher education for everyone, etc.) that the U.S. today could only dream of.
What SD said.
doncha love it – all the usual sane suspects have at least questioned the move for the past several months (including some of our trading partners), and not a peep from the Fed, but suddenly the GOP knuckle draggers in Congress start squealing (oh, and get it wrong btw) and now there’s a public response ?!?!
ooh boy
Mornin’ All
I understand all that. A benevolent dictator is still a dictator.
You can call him a dictator if you like, but he’s not ordering the execution of his own citizens without trial like our freely-elected Preznint is doing.
The people of Venezuela, with the exception of the monied elites, apparently don’t consider him a dictator, and they’ve had their share of ‘em.
McCain is a pod person, it’s the only explanation for his erratic behavior.
Every time you hear a politician say “What the American people want” or “The will of the people”, you can pretty much assume it’s the exact opposite of what most Americans want.
Got something for ya Dragon.
Well said. Also it’s been mentioned before that Chavez is grateful that Israel has the U.S. pinned down in the ME so that Venezuela can conduct its socialist experiment without the U.S. funding a new CONTRA army.
Wonders never cease. That’s a keeper for Caturday.
I thought that might tickle you.
Let’s see ten years ago America job creators were held back by high taxes. Cut those taxes and jobs would pour forth like a raging river.
Well it’s ten years later and unemployment poured forth like a raging river.
Wouldn’t logic dictate not only letting the job destroying tax cuts expire but raising the taxes on the top 1% thieves, with the help of sold out congresspeople, who control too much of the country’s wealth ?
Am I missing a bigger logic?
Amazing.
That cat looks like my Cahnstance, who also has guard cat instincts. However, I’m hoping she doesn’t try it with anything as dangerous as alligators, or coyotes in the case of my geography.
Prove O’Reilly lied? Oh if only that would shut him up for good! That’s like proving the Earth is round or that peanut butter is sticky.
The US is certainly egging Columbia on to start something so the combined forces of the US and Columbia can go in against Chavez. The fenderheads in the Pentagon think they can prevail in yet another jungle war.
I’d be willing to bet quite a bit that Kuroneko would run for the hills if she saw a gator.
BradBlog versus OKeefe
Cahnstance has taken to leaving little pooper plops encircling the house to make sure the deer don’t come too close. She’s had face offs with them, and they snort at her. Even saw her stalking one on the lawn, but the deer was very far away, and I was able to pick up the cat, as I didn’t want her chasing the deer into the thicket.
Speaking a deer, my hunter friend is bringing over a fresh venison loin today.
And I’m off for now. Be well.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Afghanistan: 1,388
US KIA Irak: 4,427
Iraki, Afghan and Pakistani casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M

Namaste
I’m missing something here. To what is McCain relevant?
LOL! Peanut butter is sticky!! I gotta use that one.
If you watch the clip, you’ll see that’s what Maddow is asking.
This needs much more media coverage. Perhaps some real journalists [if such a profession still exists] will begin investigating O’Keefe and Breitbart? Especially after their attempt to entrap CNN, wouldn’t CNN have a vested interest in taking down those slimy bastards?
I understand. Let me restate my question: To what is that question — is John McCain relevant? — relevant to anything that is going on?
Nothing really, except that McCain does have a certain amount of power amongst the PTB. But agree: whining endlessly about McCain’s erratic behavior and constant flip-flopping on absolutely everything really is quite meaningless in the scheme of things.
Abracadaver. Cadavarick. Cadavaricky.
wouldn’t it be nice if Rachel did that with Obama and lined up all his lies to what he is saying now.
That was funny to watch all of McCain’s bizarre alterations, but I’ve got to say that you could almost do the same thing with Obama. He’s jumped sides on so many issues.
Telecom Immunity
War
Public Option
NAFTA
Government Transparency
Rule of Law
etc. . .
And, unlike McCain, he doesn’t even have senility as an excuse.
Oops, looks like I was beaten to the punch.
Agree. I was thinking the same thing last night when I happened to catch this on RM (I don’t watch her all that much anymore because of essentially meaningless dreck like this. Who cares? Preaching to more-or-less lefties about the vapid stupidity of McCain is a waste of breath, imo). I would much prefer to watch RM apply her laser-like intelligence on criticizing Obama for similar feckless wig-wagging (to put it very politely). I won’t hold my breath for that to happen.
