David Lindley and Wally Ingram — Cat Food Sandwiches.
What’s on your mind?
ZED!
hey loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
How apropo, Suz…! ;-)
Hey Loo Hoo,
Can I sit by you?
First first in forever. How’s tricks, Sooz?
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
hey ce — how’s ohio tonight?
Hey Loo Hoo (and everyone else), on the topic of ‘Cat Food’, Yves Smith over at NakedCapitalism just put up a post by someone who delivers an awesome smackdown to the Catfood Commission.
Worth a click.
Wonderful. Warmish and looking like rain for tomorrow. How’s about your coast?
hey rotl — how ya doing tonight?
Heck, yes! Scrooch on over.
sunny today — rain’s back tomorrow afternoon. feels colder each day
Enjoying the CMA’s… Taylor Swit just delivered an excellent performance…! ;-)
After a beautiful, sunny day it got so dark, so soon, sigh! Another winter about to begin!
Hey Sooze, about to sign off… ;-)
Have a good evening, and check out that awesome smackdown to the Catfood Commission clowns over at NC. Why, it’s so damn good I almost thought bmaz had written it. Heh ;-)
tis dark by 530 here and the temps really drop….
Move my down coat, please, and howzit!
will do rotl…. you got a link?
Ah, this. Thanks, rOTL.
thanks for that link loohoo
“Ranch dressing, industrial grade”
What a line!
hey margot — how ya doing tonight?
Everything is so fine! Life without a mortgage payment is duck soup! The tenants at my rental are both leaving -one Nov. 15th, both by Dec. 1st, and I can start fix ups there. (Attached places coming together as one)
All’s well. I’m trying to think of the early darkness as “the gloaming.”
I know that’s not the correct definition but it makes me feel better about it.
Dave Alvin plays a song for the folks @ LLN.
Hiya Margot.
Almost winter. We had a few inches of snow last weekend.
Is ‘Lil Miss CE still around? I know she’s moving back.
hey mr why — how ya doing tonight? love mr alvin
OMG
Yes, life without a mortgage payment is wonderful!
KPIG music.
Hi Chris,
We haven’t had any that I’m aware of yet. It was around 29 this morning so I guess I’d better get my warm jacket out, hm?
cold
hey wmd — how ya doing tonight?
Due back in Cleveland this Sunday. Yea!
Yves from rOTL’s link:
Hanging in there. Chapter 7 filed.
(((wmd))) will that keep the the sheriff’s sale on hold?
How old is she now? My 24 year old is so cool, but the 22 year old is still fighting the good fight for independence while still totally dependent!
Yes. No sale on friday. 2 months at least.
We’ll be partying because I’ve got work and it converts to a 13 before then.
Well they better get prepared, and be ready to stay prepared.
‘evenin’ all-
you’ve got work???
I seriously think you’ll feel so much less pressured. A bankruptcy in 2010 will not stay on your credit for long. Join 20 million(?) others. I’m not doing bankruptcy, but I’m sure doing foreclosure…or possibly a short sale if it fits into my schedule.
hey rond — how’s the great swamp tonight?
You got work…? Awesome…! 8-)
dog bless her…back to ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzs
*heh* Now really, three question marks, M’dear…? (ducking) ;-)
No work yet. I’ve got a little longer.
Evening, RonD. I don’t think the people are prepared to be led to the slaughterhouse, FOX news be damned. If the dems can pick up the pace here, they’ve got a winner.
Honestly, I think all of the Bush tax cuts should expire. Nobody even knew they got the stimulus cut, so WTF???
hey and g’nite sadly
ok…. dayam, i was so hoping….
Nope. Soon I hope.
Hey y’all, things go better with KITNZ!
Alarm clock!!!
hey that guy — how ya doing tonight?
Hey Suz..
It’s a good night in the swamp. Hi 50′s, dry…Got some very nice professional validation from someone I really respect today, and the weather change has brought out some new critters-I’ve been fighting a running battle with a fiendishly resolute possum for the last week. He should be along any time..how’s the wild Pacific?
twas peaceful today. another storm coming in tomorrow tho, and yet another one sat.
McCE is 27, and has been independent for five years. She won her two years of graduate school, with a stipend that allowed her to live, with a roomate, in a great apartment. She then won a fellowship in NYC at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Later, a job at the Costume Institue for two years enabled her to live in Brooklyn. Coming home now.
‘nuther cold
Believe me, when I’ve got work I’ll not be low key about it.
You must be bursting with pride!
oh yeah (in best ferris bueller)
Yello.
Like Suzanne,
Yes, we love our girls!
I hope you’re right…I think people have already demonstrated a clear willingness to be led to the slaughter, especially the vast numbers of working people who listen to FOX and their ilk, consider themselves well-informed, and then vote against their own interests. The power of propaganda and fear.
World’s biggest testicles.
jen finds out a week from tomorrow if baby turnip has a stem or not…. i’m hoping for a girl
“Detroit’s Leading Cowboy… Kid Rock…!” wtf…? ;-)
Doin ok, watching the CMAs and wondering where the hell all the Telecasters went. Not much country music except Brad Paisley and Loretta Lynn.
i can never remember their name… thanks dood
I think it’s more that nobody’s paying attention. Once they tune in things could hopefully change. I think the media is responsible for that. The right wing media sycophants are SOL.
i refuse to watch… i think the only awards show i’ve seen recently was the oscars… and i only saw parts of it
Oh! Oh! Just a baby!
Sugarland did a tune that I could’ve sworn was a Country Rap song…! *gah*
fingers crossed for ya!
her sisterinlaw and best friend are convinced she’s got a boy in there…. we were squealing on the phone earlier tonight — ‘only a week’. julianna if a girl and nathan if a boy — i think i have the spellings correct
I’ll drink to that, sweety.
Nathan is a fine name for a boy…! ;-)
Just be cool, names are funny!
To the Mustang ranch.
hey duncan — how ya doing tonight?
right. just what exactly did the right say? How can they still believe after all that has happened. By now, even though it’s too late. what i would like to know if how they sold themselves to the slaughter, and willingly still?
Mellow, how’s by you?
hey beleck — welcome to late late night — how ya doing tonight?
Who knew that a Les Paul/ Marshall stack setup was the definitive country sound?
Oh, wait…
I ended up, with total defiance:
Jack
Patty
Wierd?
is how they sold themselves. oops!
mellow here too :)
cold here in New Orleans nice. 60 degrees. lol.
Soon it will be ‘hooliana’.!
Oooo, Donovan. There’s a story about the girl behind Jennifer Juniper, but I’m too Mellow Yellow to remember it now.
Conservatism cannot fail one-but one can fail conservatism.
ha! tis a balmy 43 on the north oregon coast
Country Does Kiss.
i’m thinking jules and nate as nicknames…. which should totally tick off jen
Oh, Willie, you do write a song…
Damn,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0jOR5DC0rM
I’m waiting for some country dude to take an Ibanez 7-string, tune it down to A-flat, and play it through a wall of Mesa/Boogie Triple Recs. What it would sound like if Korn played country.
I suppose that’s next.
what a classic….
Let’s see….100?
I read it the way Suz did and thought there was work. Continuing to send positive energy.
Try to Catch the Wind!
Mr. Cash did a Nine Inch Nails tune, so it would be fair.
Careful Suz.
hey sb — how’s santa barbara tonight?
and happy lucky 100!!!
d’oh!
Nice snag of the 100.
lol, you’re planning ahead how to tick her off!
Lucky 100, that’s me. Checking in before bedtime to say hi Suz! We’re gusting some strong winds in SB, so power may not be my friend.
isn’t that what grandma’s do? *innocent look*
yikes… be careful and stay safe sb
Just said hooliana cuz my daughter (Jossie) and her friend Julia went through high school as hossie and hoolia!
It’s been glorious squared here. Ocean has been sparkly and crisp (for us) autumn temps. What I usually think of as October weather.
Lovely.
ya gotta think about things like that … as well as the nicknames and insults that can be created outta the name… or initials
Hiya, Suz. hiya, pups.
My dog prefers cat food to his own. I don’t.
Blowing 25, 27 degrees F in the outskirts of Wasilla. Just home from another 14-hour day at work. Loving it.
I’m always looking for my friends.
The six degrees of Rick Rubin: Johnny Cash, Donovan…
I’m ready to sleep.
Good night all.
oooo i love that song
No one else is reporting wind. We’re in a spot that sometimes does it’s own thing. Hubs out with the dogs, probably looking for meteors. We’ve had a bunch the past few nights.
hey et — brrrr. i catch token over at bailey cat’s bowl every now and then… did i mention brrr
g’nite wmd
Congratulations on the 100!
I always thought of my nickname as “Jewels” LOL. hey and howdy, Suz and pups!
Oh, yes they do. My mom always told me I was too skinny, eat eat eat, drink a milkshake with egg in it, etc. My grandma heard her and said, “Is the child healthy? Can she run and play all day? Well then leave her alone, land sakes.”
been overcast here at night… tis november.. isn’t there an annual meteor shower every november?
hey julia — how ya doing tonight?
Fading fast. A busy day of chasing grandboys-their word-and reading Truman library documents tomorrow. Should be fun.
Goodnight, all. The best of all possible tomorrows to you all.
Oof. I’ve got your windspeed, but add about 50°. Stay warm!
g’nite rond
Doing fine, and yourself? I hear there’s spec on the kumquat’s sex, have ya tried the ‘wedding ring on a string’ yet?
You did. It doesn’t seem that cold. Probably because I’m mostly inside these past two weeks since winter started.
Indeed there is. We’re waiting on the Leonids in a few days. Just checked in with the star site to find that what we’ve been seeing is probably part of the Taurids. Go Bulls!
Thanks LooHoo. I’ve been MIA with family crises, so it’s fun to have a 100 to wear as a tiara. (crises past, danger averted)
Also pushing this idea/website R/T JOBS JOBS JOBS:
http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/11/08
i gotta admit, my idea of cold has changed since i’ve been up here… turns out i was a total wuss when i was in ca
i like ko’s new sign off… where are the jobs mr boehner
Insane pickin . . . great vid Suz.
Few folks know how hard it is to sing and play (it’s hard for me) and sound and look as good as Lindley shows it . . . damn he’s been good for so long now.
Just so Pups realize, that’s NOT a dobro Lindley’s playing, it’s a raised neck Weissenborn. No resonator, just a solid guitar with a raised neck and strings played with a bar and finger picks.
Lindley and a drummer . . . they make all that music . . . can ya believe that.
*G*
Suz Scores Heavily!
Wassup Pups.
*G*
I used to live in Vermont, but LA has wussified me fer sher.
I lived in MN for a few years and experienced real cold. I am totally at peace with being a CA wuss.
hey larue — how’s sac tonight? glad ya liked it
We are now into low 40′s nights and a few into hight 30′s.
But the ‘maters endure!
I may do a diary with pics . . . ‘mater bushes grown like hippie beards . . .
*G*
LOL lived in SoCal for 3 years, and got so “acclimated” I wore a jacket when it “dropped” to 60. Back home in MI, that’s T-shirt and shorts weather.
Hi Julia. Maybe the Hossie and Hoolia thing is SoCal!
Hey, this was gold for a slidey fan like me!
*G*
i wore a sweater when it was in the 60′s… and up here, that’s short sleeve weather
I think I’d rather live on Shemya Island than in LA.
oooooo let me know when its up dood
Me too, with my brother.
Well, “Boner” don’t have to do jack, all it takes is an EO, like FDR did, bam! We get near-full employment! We have to start calling BS when they say “we can’t create jobs”, it’s all right there in the article. I ran on a “WPA/CCC” answer to the U-6 “disemployment’ number of approximately 17%, probably higher.
Just A Quarter In Da Record Machine.
Who’m I kiddin . . . . Mary Travers is God . . . *G*
Now that’s some LA hatin’
Mine was my dad. Freaky rare complication with routine colonoscopy = ruptured spleen/splenectomy/5 days in ICU intubated. Fun times. He’s home and doing fine now.
Hey, Larue. Thanks for the tip.
Will do . . . might take pics tomorrow and post same . . .
Gotta phreak out those already frozed in . . *G*
November, n we got ‘maters . . . growing!
I got no answers . . . ;-)
rain
Oh yeah, when in SoCal, ‘Hulia’ was my name, just an example of the Mexican pronunciation of “J” at the start of a word. I gotta tell this story on myself, I didn’t know La Jolla was pronounced “LaHoya” until I lived there.
yikes… good to hear he is doing ok and home again
Howdy!
Just tryin to reinforce how good Suz’ pick was . . . this one is really special.
Suz knows her music . . . Hell, she knows MINE!
*G*
I lived in MN for the first twelve years of my life. I remember -50% with a wind chill factor. Now, I’m happily in SoCal. I think I’d worry to death if there were a power failure in MN.
Bet you knew that Pacific Beach was pronounced “Pee Bee” soon enough.
Yeah, they “perfed” him, a complication I see all the time, you won’t catch me getting one of those unless I have a verrry good reason.
It was a nightmare. Flew w/a few hours notice back east, not knowing if he’d be alive when I got there. Luckily, he’s a tough old Marine and didn’t know enough to give in to the emergency. 22 units of blood and a little jello and he’s doing fine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRfZFcr58FQ&feature=related
I’m not going to touch the catfood commission. Why? Because I just don’t want to hear or think about it for a while.
(was in response to Sb @153)
Yeah, I went apeshit last night on them youtube wise . . .
God danged bless Mary Travers and those three for their harmonies.
Listening to them is like a Harmony 101 School . . . every possible configuration for harmony was done by them . . . and it was all incredible and top shelf.
I gush.
;-)
Duuude, I mean fer sure :-)
hey vmt — how ya doing tonight? nice skaggs
Just finishing up my 12 pack from last night :-)
Oddly enough, apparently there was no perf. Somehow they “elbowed” the spleen. I’ve been reluctant to tell folks exactly what happened, out of fear that I’ll be responsible for them skipping their colonoscopy! I keep saying “routine test” and hoping for no questions.
holy moly
My best thoughts for yer pops and you and family too . . .
Hold ‘em all close!
meant in reply to duncan..time to go bo-bo when I can’t figure out how to use the ‘reply’ button…Niters all!!
time for this?
PB=Pacific Beach
MB=Mission Beach
OB=Ocean Beach
What else?
g’nite julia — for me its my typo to word ratio….
Don’t forget Blacks Beach.
Not to fear. It would take more than that to make people give up the many pleasures of a colonoscopy.
well…..the “elbow” ruptured his spleen, and that takes either a heck of a lot of force, or a sharp object.(BTW never heard that phrase before, that’s a new one)
Not A Bad PP&M One To Learn From.
Sigh, what harmony . . . .
G’night.
Thanks Larue. It put a lot into perspective, I must say. I am lucky to have a great relationship with my dad, so there was no overlay of words unsaid, etc. It didn’t make the thought of losing him any easier, but allowed me to just focus on hoping for the best outcome for HIM and not for me.
Black’s Beach, for those who dare to be bare.
Somewhere, somehow, someway, it’s kewl for me to say this.
“All the way up, Coach, with a red hot poker.”
*G*
BB = bare bodies
billy
Otay, I’m relly goin know..lol, And, SB, I’m glad your dad made it. Duncan, “pleasures”? Made me laff!!
Was hoping they do a better job these days. Colonoscopy killed my grandmother and put my aunt in the hospital for two weeks…
I wonder how often they hear that one in the procedure room.
The “elbow” is my phrase. My stepmother is Colombian, and it was a visual I used to try to explain what they were telling us. Who knows what really happened? All I can say is I’ve never seen such a stream of doctors looking as stunned as we saw. No one could explain what actually occurred.
Yeah!
If you stick around we’ll find a youtube of “Girl from Kalamazoo.”
I went thru some stages along the decades where I thought I was gonna lose my ma and a . . .
N when their end times finally came late in their lives . . . I was kinda ready for their passing.
Kinda.
We never forget them here, or gone . . . n we’re never ready to lose them I don’t think.
Nope. Never ready to lose them . . . cuz there’s so much to thank them for we often never get to . . . . N I was good at thankin mine over the years . . . and I know, I missed some stuff . . .
Hold him close SB . . . n good on ya for being there . . . I smile.
like this one?
Oh my, LooHoo. I’m sorry to bring that association. I’m sorry for your loss and troubles.
Most of them have NO clue who Robby Benson is . .
*G*
I’d wager, that is.
Here it is, for everyone who has ever traded SoCal surf for Michigan winters!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TurG8WeEQk4
Beat me to it. D-Oh!
Naw, that’s classic stuff!
Not to worry. I think it has a lot to do with age and improved procedures. Though, I’ll admit to being scared to get one. Doc keeps working on it!
N sometimes, ya just never forget them kisses . . .
All Of Them, Sweeter N Wine. 13 to 70.
*G*
Thanks, Larue. I hold him close (long-distance) every day. Lost my mom over 30 years ago, and her mom, my sweet grandma, about ten years ago. Miss them both every day, and also thank them every day for the lessons & love they gave me.
happy lucky 200 loohoo!!!
naw, i did dancing.. you went with the band… two very different takes
Loo Hoo! Loo Hoo!
My stepmom was resisting the procedure. Pretty sure it’s never gonna happen now. Oh look! You got a colonoscopy 200!
*bows*
We hold ‘em close, we do . . .
Yes.
A good title for a Joan Didion short story collection.
HA! I’ll counterbalance it with is big band!
Flip it a bit and it might be Courtney Love autobiography: “You went dancing, I did the band.”
The HuffPo headline reads: “WHITE HOUSE GIVES IN ON BUSH TAX CUTS.” But that’s OK, ’cause I’m confident he’ll compensate but cutting entitlements. Ever the centrist, our man Obama.
Saying goodnight, Suz and friends. Going to bed giggling that spellcheck wants to change colonoscopy to colonialism or colonization. If I had more energy I would really make something of that.
or grace slick’s…
hey wigwam — how’s the inland empire tonight?
Goodnight SBcardinal.
g’nite sb
“Now we are old, and ready to go.
Thinkin about what happened a long time ago.
We had lots of kids and troubles and pain.
But oh lord, we’d do it again.”
Cuz she had kisses sweeter n wine.
*G*
That’s how it started . . . them kisses . . .
*G*
She want somebody to love.
What a great counterbalance! I will skip off to bed with a great beat… thanks!
They can now do “virtual colonoscopies” using CAT scan technology. The upside is that it’s less invasive. The downside is that they can’t remove polyps as they do it. The jury seems to still be out regarding the danger of the radiation vs the danger of the probe.
Spell check still can’t recognize Obama.
N with that, I’m past my bedtime here . . . niters to Suz Hostess and all you fine Puppers.
Thanks for the tunage and the chattage.
Hold ‘em close, n kiss ‘em, too . . . we humans are at our best when we do that . . .
*G*
looking for her plastic fantastic
That’s OK, neither do the people who voted for him.
g’nite larue
Geez. What to do? I’ve managed to avoid this so far…
Doin’ fine, but we lost a peace officer over the weekend.
i heard about it *sigh* good they made an arrest
Plastic fantastic lover?
Maybe she wasn’t doing the band enough?!?
It involves a general anesthetic and “achieving clarity” the night before. Other than that, it seems pretty straight forward if done by someone who knows what they’re doing. (So I’m told.) Doctors are now recommending them every five years after age 55, but there was a report within the past six months or so questioning their benefit.
time for me to head out folks. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
G’nite Suzanne.
Good night, Suzanne.
I’ll wait. Just like I did on estrogen during menopause. Seems like the safest route!
Nite, Sweetie.
Prince agrees with you.
Cold is when water is a solid at ambient temperature. Chilly is below 55° F. Warm is above 70° F.
