Late Night: Willie Nelson, the Border Patrol and the Teapot Party

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday November 30, 2010 8:00 pm

Nelson said in an email to CelebStoner.com:

There’s the Tea Party. How about the Teapot Party? Our motto: We lean a little to the left. Tax it, regulate it and legalize it. And stop the border wars over drugs. Why should the drug lords make all the money? Thousands of lives will be saved.

Where Will DADT Repeal Opponents Hang Their Hats Now?

By: Teddy Partridge Tuesday November 30, 2010 7:30 pm

Of course, these aren’t reasonable objections and, as such, shouldn’t be held up for examination for logical consistency. I just think repeal opponents have reached funny-papers status. They remind me of the kid who says, “This ice cream really sucks, can I have more please?”

Cuobama

By: Eli Tuesday November 30, 2010 6:01 pm

What is it with Democrats using their own base, and even union members’ own money, to attack workers? Not only is President Obama trying to use Organizing For America’s vast e-mail list to gin up support for freezing the salaries of government employees, but NY Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo might actually use union money to attack unions:

Torture and Political Alienation

By: Jeff Kaye Tuesday November 30, 2010 4:00 pm

The voices of the tortured keep speaking to me. They will not be quieted. They will continuing speaking long after I am old and gone. Will they be heard, or buried again in a spiritual dungeon built out of human indifference, ignorance, and fear?

Senators from Both Parties Move to Kill Wasteful Ethanol Subsidies

By: Jon Walker Tuesday November 30, 2010 2:35 pm

A statement from individuals across the ideological spectrum that there is simply no place in our federal budget for wasteful, ineffective spending that is basically just corporate welfare. This is what good trans-partisanship looks like. And it is remarkably rare.

Simpson and Bowles Defy Executive Order, Want to Delay Catfood Commission Vote

By: David Dayen Tuesday November 30, 2010 1:50 pm

For most of the week, you could see the wheels coming off of the Catfood Commission. First we heard that “they may surprise us,” but then there was this moving of the goalposts.
