Delaware Tea Party Republican candidate, Christine O’Donnell is surprised to learn there’s a clause in the 1st Amendment prohibiting the government from establishing a religion. But that’s just par for a group that has little respect for the US Constitution.

Banks Sold the Same Mortgage Over and Over to Investors |
| By: David Dayen Tuesday October 19, 2010 11:45 am |
This is a level of fraud that I probably should’ve seen coming, but didn’t. Apparently, Bank of America has admitted in a court filing that they sold the same mortgage loan in multiple pools to investors.

| By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday October 19, 2010 9:31 am |
When Michael Whitney was at the Prop 19 headquarters last weekend phonebanking with our friends from Students for Sensible Drug Policy, people started CHEERING when the callers said they were from Prop 19. If nobody was home and they left a message, people were calling back and thanking them.

Democrats Using One-Time Social Security Benefit Issue in Midterm Elections |
| By: David Dayen Tuesday October 19, 2010 9:07 am |
As expected, the $250 one-time benefit sought by Democrats for Social Security recipients has become a talking point in the campaign. Both Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have committed their chambers to a vote on the bill in the lame-duck session, with strong support from the President. Early Morning Swim: Meghan McCain Displays Shocking Lack of Self-Awareness on Rachel Maddow |
| By: Blue Texan Tuesday October 19, 2010 4:47 am |
Uh, Meghan? Maybe you forgot this, but your Daddy elevated a complete dingbat with “little to no qualifications,” who had “bizarre social things” and a mountain of ethics complaints — to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. And she’s probably running for president in a couple years. As a result, said dingbat made it possible for even bigger dingbats like Christine O’Donnell to run for less important positions, like US Senator. Hope that helps.
